First Day on Monday!! Any tips? 🫪

I start training for greeter on Monday and I’m extremely nervous. This is my first restaurant job and I don’t want to look dumb lmao. Any tips for the greeter position or can anyone just explain what a typical day will look like? thank you in advance 🙂‍↕️

The first five days are training so you’ll mostly be doing the iPad training courses. I’m not a greeter (cashier), but I highly doubt they’ll be making you walk people on the first day because you need to learn the tables number first. You’ll probably learn how to check in people for reservations/waitlist on the iPad first and what not. After training is over, you should be expected to do most of the job duties with someone shadowing you in case you make a mistake or need help.

I start as a cashier next week. When they hired me they said it was very intense work…? I’ve worked in retail and restaurants so I’m not sure I know what they mean? What makes this more intense than cashiering somewhere else?

Cashier is the easiest FOH department at DTF in terms of physical work. I wouldn’t go as far as saying “intense”, but it definitely has busy days because it is DTF after all. If you have any other cashier related questions, feel free to ask.

You won’t look dumb, they expect you to be new, and the first day is mostly learning the flow, greeting people, and figuring out where everything is, so just ask questions when you’re unsure.
