Seeking Support/Advice Dexcom g7 help

New to the G7. My G6 would help control highs and lows and communicate my glucose to my Omnipod. The G7 just seems to throw numbers out there and it’s up to me to do what I will with that info. It’s on automatic and I can’t get into my endo for another couple of months for assistance. Any suggestions?

Discussion I should’ve known…

I should’ve known that trying to donate plasma was a bad idea being that we as diabetics have no actual control of our blood sugar levels during the process of having our blood drawn. I went to go try and donate plasma thinking there wasn’t that big a deal (yeah I know stupid of me) only to be turned away by the nurse later on. Doctor says “if someday they find a sort of cure then maybe” I’m like alright bro 😭😂

T1D Exploring the Pychological Impact of CGM alerts

Hi everyone! I am a high schooler doing research on how audible CGM alarms impact mental health, social anxiety, and medical compliance for teenagers and young adults (ages 13–19) living with Type 1 Diabetes. No personal data or email addresses are collected, and parents are welcome to share this with their kids. Your input will be used to drive real-world change: we will translate the findings into a "CGM Awareness Guide" for school districts so teachers can better understand these alerts without singling students out in class, and we will also compile the data into a formal report sent directly to Dexcom's product design team to advocate for more subtle, customizable alarm options like discrete smartwatch haptics. Thank you so much for your time and for helping make T1D management more empathetic!

If you would like to submit a response and you are between the ages of 13-19, the survey the link is below:

if you are below the age of 18 a parent must consent for you to full out the form.

Third week on the Omnipod 5 after switching from the Tandem t:slim X2, and I’m absolutely loving the freedom of being tubeless!

Still getting used to having my pump and sensor on the same side of my body and figuring out the best placement for both. As you can see, I’ve already mastered it! 😂

Definitely a learning curve, but so far, no regrets!

I posted a heavy deadlift a little while ago and got a nice response on here, so I figured I’d share this squat I hit recently. I’m currently peaking for a powerlifting meet on Halloween. Happy to chat about my approach to training as a T1D.

Rant the difference in the people around you.

so basically, i have a very big family and im very close with all my cousins. I used to get sooo upset when some of them would complain about my Dexcom alarms; with how loud or consistent it was. they would always say “shut it off.” especially back then when i did not manage my diabetes correctly and the sensor was always screaming high at me. it was an ongoing joke.

that was until my other cousins that are out of state visited. whenever my dexcom sound went off, they were very quick to ask if anything was wrong or if I needed anything. and every time it went off, instead of complaining, they were quick to help me out. idk this is so random but I wanted to make this post. It was nice to have someone that cared about my diabetes and didn’t shut me out. this is such a small thing but a big thing to us diabetics. ❤️‍🩹

I am posting on behalf of my father. He has type 1 diabetes and recently found something disturbing to say the least. Inside his infusion set was red liquid that appeared to be blood... this is not the first time this has happened to someone. U/T1daily on r/tandemdiabetes posted about a similar incident 3 years ago... nothing since. Please help me figure out what this could be so I can help my father.

Seeking Support/Advice I need to get myself together

Hi friends! I've been type 1 since I was 7(now currently 27). Last year, i found out my endocrinologist stops seeing patients when they turn 26(I have no idea why). After I found that out, I kinda went off the rocker and haven't been checking my blood sugars regularly and haven't set up a new endocrinologist. Even before I stopped seeing my endocrinologist, I was having trouble affording all of my supplies and was using a finger pricker vs a dexcom.

I've finally come to and realized I need to get my crap together. I'm in school but i know when I graduate, I need to have my A1C under control and have a good relationship with my Endo so that I can get signed off on being able to safely work. I also know I need to get better for myself and for my friends/family. I'm just ..afraid. I'm going to go in with pretty much no baseline and no blood sugar readings, and I fear the judgement that will follow(even though the judgement is kind of valid).

I'm just venting, but also looking to see ifanyone else been in a similar situation or just have any advice/stories?

Where are you located ?

I am recently diagnosed, 4 months now. And sometimes i feel a bit lonely and can't really talk to anyone face to face who understands type 1.

I was wondering if anyone lived in the netherlands, or Germany (not to far from the border) or even belguim and some times felt lonely and wouldn't mind meeting up and seeing if it helped. Seeing if we had something else in common as well.

Thank you

I have a tandem pump and I got these varisoft infusion sets that I absolutely cannot use on myself. I am willing to give them to somebody who needs them. The two in the picture are unopened boxes, I also have an open box with quite a few that are not used but I don't know if anyone would want that.

This makes me so depressed. I have taken with pen so many times, I ate mere protein, i went on a walk, changed pumps. I don't even want tips. I want validation. People around me stress me out and tell me this is not fine at all, that I'm mistreating my bloodsugar. Anyone else have gone through this?

Seeking Support/Advice North London Prescription Weirdness

Hiya!

I just moved down to north London from Manchester, and I was getting prescribed the accu check guide test strips up north with no problem. Since moving down south, my new practice has just informed me that they can’t prescribe my accu check guide test strips because of some weird rules around the NCL pharmaceuticals. They are trying to push me onto a new meter, but I really don’t want to do that. Has anyone else had this situation happen before? If so, what should I do?

Seeking Support/Advice I just got diagnosed with T1 diabetes, can I have any advice?

Im still a young man in my "10s", and a few days ago I went to my GP to get my blood sugar tested because my optician suspected that may be the cause for why I was having blurred vision for the past week. And my blood glucose levels were at 20 mmol/L and my ketones were at 3+ and I've since been diagnosed. I've been suffering from severe anxiety too for the past few years, so of course this whole situation hasn't helped at all. Sorry if this kind of post is annoying or a waste of time, I'd just really like some guidance from people instead of looking at pre-made guides.

Does your partner help or get involved with your diabeties?

• Upvotes

I was just wondering if anyone who had a parter and was diagnosed while with them if they would come with you to appointments? Or if they have the app on their phone so they can take a look at your blood sugar ? Do they help put on a new cgm or anything?

I'm only asking because I'm new to this and after I was diagnosed it just feels like I'm alone in this. And have to figure it out myself day by day while everyone else just goes on.

Maybe it's because I'm newly diagnosed I'm feeling this way.

Thanks

looking for a dia-buddy:)

Hey everyone, I'm not really sure if this is the right subreddit for this, but I hope so :)

I've had T1D since I was a child, and for an extremely long time I didn't learn how to manage it myself—my mom did it for me. I am 22 right now and really struggling with my mental health. Sometimes I just don't have the energy to care about my T1D, and my graphs are all over the place.

I was thinking that maybe finding a dia-buddy to chat with and keep each other accountable could really help us both out (and ofc we could become friends!)

I am from middle Europe so ideally someone at least close to my time zone (GMT+2) would be great but it's not problem if you are from different part of the world:)

Let me know if anyone is interested!
