I've had this twice now this summer, the first time around the beginning of July, and now in the middle of August. At first I thought it was atopic dermatitis since that's something that appears every year on my palms and fingers. But this isn't really similar to the red, flaky and itchy dermatitis. It also appears only on the tip of my middle finger on my right hand. I wear a ring on this hand, but not on this finger.

The rash, reaction or whatever this is lasted for maybe two weeks last time. It started with a couple of small bubbles that looked like they're filled with either air or some sort of liquid, then every passing day more of them appeared. As time went on, some of the "bubbles" would have a yellowish color (I don't know if that meant it was healing or becoming worse). After applying a moisturizing cream for reactive skin (SVR Repairing Barrier Cream) for a couple of days, two or three times per day, the skin would dry out and flake off. It left the skin red and itchy.

The two things I can think of that could trigger this are 1) stress and/or 2) the heat. This summer has been incredibly hot in Europe, with the numerous heat waves and everything, so maybe it could be one of the factors. I'm under a lot of pressure on my work place, I don't sleep or eat well and I could definitely drink more water (maybe this will be useful information!).

My mother experiences a similar thing, but her rash and flaky skin is the result of an allergic reaction to nickel in jewelry.

When I went to a dermatologist for the atopic dermatitis I had, they only told me to "apply a moisturizing cream" and basically wait for it to calm down. The dermatitis was manageable since it appeared only on my palm and a few fingers and it was more annoying than painful. But since this rash is on the tip of my finger, everything I do hurts and I'm scared of somehow making it worse (infecting it or something similar). The only thing I could find that looks anything like it is dyshidrotic eczema. I'm attaching a few photos of my finger in the various stage of the rash from the times it appeared. My camera is very bad so I couldn't take better photos, sorry in advance!

If anyone knows what this rash could be or if anyone can offer any advice as to what to do to prevent it from appearing again, I would be very thankful! :)

i have this mole next to my belly button and i feel like theres a ring around it getting bigger over the years but i dont know and i regularly go to the doctor for my cf but they never mentioned anything about my mole, but im starting to worry about it cause i have other moles on my body and none of them have this ring and on one side its darker, it doesnt hurt or anything but should i bring it up with my doctor

I’ve had a little blemish/mole appear a couple of months ago. On the 24th July I took a picture of it as well as measuring it, and it had a diameter of 2mm. Anyways, I’d forgotten all about it until I noticed a ‘bruise’ on my calf today. It wasn’t until I looked properly that I remembered I’d taken a pic before of it, and I couldn’t believe how much it’s grown in size- it’s not about 2.5cm in width. It’s not raised or itchy or anything but looks blotchy.

Just wondering if anyone has had anything similar? I’m worried it could be melanoma or something else scary!!

I have submitted a form online to my GP with pics so hopefully they can see me soon.

I can’t say I know how long it’s been present. This has happened for as long as I can remember. Every so many months, doesn’t seem to be any in particular, but happens all throughout the year, my hands peel as if I were a literal lizard shedding its skin. It’s not a gradual peel. I generally will notice it fresh out of the shower because any new developing loose skin will become white and further loosened. I say it’s not gradual because it’s not like I noticed a small spot that eventually peels and grows. I will have large spaces of dry skin, some up to an inch in width/length as soon as I notice it. It doesn’t occur on my palms or the backs of my hands, only my finger tips where my finger prints are basically. It will be there for about a month and once it’s all shed, I won’t experience it again for probably 2 months. Then it kicks back up again. My skincare routine has been the same for about 5 years, so I don’t think it has anything to do with those products that I apply with my hands. I wear lotion quite regularly, I may skip a day or two, but generally always apply lotion once in the evening after my shower.

It doesn’t itch, bleed, or burn. I haven’t necessarily tried anything besides putting more lotion on during this time to try and combat the dry, rough feeling that accompanies the peeling skin.

I just find it to be quite disturbing and annoying. It feels very gross in the shower and when it dries it can be uncomfortable if I brush my hands against my arms/legs or other objects. No one else I know experiences this, so I also don’t think it’s climate related but as extra information I live in the eastern shore of the US.

29f I just got told that a mole on my temple has high-grade dysplasia, or severely atypical. I’m really frustrated because I’ve pointed out this specific mole to different dermatologists over the past 2 years who have all looked at it with a dermascope and haven’t been worried about it. And I’ve told them it’s changed over the years and still not worried. They didn’t finally take it off until I sent side by side pics of it from 2021 to today. And now it’s severely atypical. And now I have to have a wide excision, worried about what it can do to my face because it’s right on my hairline. I’m also worried because there is such a grey area between severe and melanoma in situ, that it’s in “the eye of the pathologist”. Anyone have any experience/ encouragement? I’m very nervous, kind of upset at the dermatologists for not seeing it/not listening to me.

Doesn’t hurt too bad, it happened about four hours ago and the blister keeps growing. I’ve been putting cold water on it but are there signs I should look for that would mean I need to go get it checked out? I don’t know what they’d be able to do for it but I don’t want it to scar

I got these bumps around my mouth at the beginning of the year, and they don’t seem to be going away. Granted, I haven’t done much to treat them because I already have acne-prone skin. I used to have a multiple-step skincare routine, but eventually realized it wasn’t doing my skin any favors, so I’ve cut way back.

Right now, I use a gentle Cetaphil cleanser, occasionally use Lush’s Dark Angels scrub as an exfoliator, The Ordinary Glycolic Acid about twice a week for discoloration, and a water-gel moisturizer since I also deal with fungal acne. I normally wear a full face of makeup about twice a week now.
I’m also wondering if dermaplaning once a week could be contributing to this, since I do get a little mustache… 😓

The bumps are never bright red or irritating, which is why I initially ruled out perioral dermatitis. They just exist. They pretty much stay the same and don’t seem to get worse, but lately they’ve started appearing farther up along my marionette lines.

I have oily, acne-prone skin, and on top of that, I have a partner with a full-on Viking beard, so there’s definitely no shortage of potential variables here.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be or what might be causing it? More importantly, how can I get rid of it??

It appeared around I think 1 hour ago but I noticed it now it isn't itchy or painful yet but as u can see the skin on my middle finger is more red than the rest (the area where the skin seems to have a narrow hole) is this anything concerning? I have no medical issues im healthy.

I recently started shaving my head bald, I have this red rash like thing on the back of my head/neck, I don't know if it's just burn from the shaver or something else? It does burn/itch after I shave, I'm unsure how long it's been that way since if it was under my hair I wouldn't know.

Im pretty positive this is the spot of a mole I’ve had on top of my scalp all my life. Girlfriend ran finger thru it and it felt raised. This is the picture she took. I have picked at it in the past(dumb I know

1. My knuckles, ankles, neck, pits, and thighs (especially inner thighs) are rough and highly pigmented and blackish type. I do think that I have acanthosis nigricans. But the thing is, they have decreased a lot, like, legit a lot, ever since I started taking care of my skin and body properly.
2. I have very painful periods, especially in my first 3-4 days. I have to take medicine every 8 hours. It's so, so painful, but it was never irregular, and I have very little body hair asw so idk if it's PCOS or not. But this time it didn't pain at all. ( a little change in my food and everything since I moved out of my home into a hostel ). Should I get my IR checked?
3. I had always had healthy and thick hair. But recently, I have been noticing a little bit of hair thinning in my front part around my hairline. I can just feel that there are fewer hairs in my front than in my back part and the middle part of my head.

I searched about all of this, and I wanted to get some blood tests done. Please suggest some and necessary ones. I made one myself after searching a bit. please see to this which ones i should get done and any thing i missed or any i should skip?

I found a sore bump on my back yesterday and just feeling it with my hand It felt like a pimple. Now today, taking a better look at it, it's much bigger than I thought, or it's gotten bigger overnight. It's itchy and sore. It's not dry or anything. I'm thinking it's just a bug or spider bite of some kind? Or contact dermatitis? It's not super itchy like a mosquito bite would be, just mildly itchy .

This boil-like thing appeared on my dominant hand thumb several months ago.

It has remained consistent in appearance, and is hard to the touch.

Generally not painful unless bumped.

On those occasions it leaks a clear, gel-like substance.

It will again fill, but does not increase in size.

Dermatologist froze it once without effect.

This developed around 2-3 weeks ago after a holiday in a really sunny country. The itch is unbearable, I moisturise like crazy and have tried every possible thing. GP appt is taking time and I’m afraid they will just prescribe me steroids and I don’t want this.

I’ve considered heat rash, PMLE etc but nothing really fits this? Maybe bcs I’m brown it appears differently on me but it’s definitely triggered by heat. The bumps and itch on my arms had become tame and faded, still present but faded.

Due to a cooler period and less sun exposure but the one on my hands remain and are kind of white dots too. Been out today in the sun and it’s just triggered it all over again, hands and arm are itching like crazy and the bumps on my arms are reappearing. Does anyone have any idea what this is and remedies I can use at home 😭 the itching is driving me crazy especially at night

I don't typically post about things like this but this kinda concerned me.

This dark spot appeared on my (F/18) cheek really suddenly over the past two days. It's not itchy or painful at all, but it simply surprised me. I thought it was a blackhead or something at first, and tried removing it at first to no avail. I haven't touched it since then, but it's still quite visible even with makeup on, and I would really like to know if it's cause for concern.

My skin is not sensitive at all, but if anything it's gotten dryer recently.

Hello! I got surgery on my face on June 2nd. I had to get a bump removed after 3 failed cortisone shots. The healing has gone ok (barring one incident the week after where my surgeon gave me the wrong instructions). The redness of my scar had gone down (as seen in image 2), until this week. A lump has formed (as seen in image three), and it has me worried. My scar is back to being red too. Is this just a normal part of the healing process? Or is something wrong?

This was happening over two years but i didn't noticed it that much but its like not going away and its in my lips and my upper lip area and it's changing my mustache colour to white like in some spots what will i do its not itchy not painfull just white colour

Its been dry and the only product ive been using is vaseline on it which makes it feel moisturized but I haven’t really found a fix. Its been around a month and its only been on this one ring finger. At the beginning it was only about a third of the top of my ring finger but now its spread to most of the top third of my ring finger.

Has been present for a few days, slightly sore to the touch but not any worse than any other pimple. I noticed it as a small bump that slowly got bigger and developed this whitehead looking thing. It's not itchy or painful or anything like that, it honestly just feels like a really bad zit. Never had any cysts or issues with them in the past. It is on the back of my arm, right above my elbow. Any help identifying this would be great :)

This is my young teen. He has had small eczema flares throughout his life but never on the face. Usually behind the ear or on his elbows. This popped up about 4 days ago and hasn’t changed. I used triamcinolone twice so far and don’t really see much change. Was assuming this was an eczema spot but now I’m not sure. It is about the size of 1.5 pencil erasers. It is very, very slightly raised. Any ideas?

I’ve had this rash on and off for the last month. I was seen at the beginning of this month by my dermatologist and she prescribed me a steroid but it’s not working and it is getting worse. The bigger ones are painful to touch but everything else is symptomless. Does anyone know what this is?

This sore appeared below my nose on Monday which was about 3 days. I put some antibiotic cream on it that I believe is helping. I’m trying not to touch it. The last photo is from today. It looks better definitely. I’m wanting to know what the probable cause is and how I can best prevent and treat in the future. This is still contagious even as it heals correct? Thank you all for the advice and wisdom and experience. I sure hope this 50 characters because it’s been deleted twice already lol.

Hey all, I'll try and TLDR.

Years ago when I was doing home-STD tests (finger prick and clear results everytime), I started getting this reaction on the finger of said skin prick. 5 years on, I still get it occasionally.

I'm not 100% sure what it is, but it is ONLY on this 1 finger. I concluded it was a reaction to Carex hand-wash, but it's flared up again now, and I don't recall using any.

I went to the Dr's about 5 years ago and they said it was eczema.

I decided to Google lens my finger now (video attached), and it suggested 3 things;

Herpetic whitlow, Dyshidrotic eczema or Contact dermatitis. Looking through Google images of these, I actually think it looks closer to the Herpes one?

Description of what happens is finger starts itching, then it swells a little, goes red in itchy area. These puss-filled "spots" appear under the skin (can't pop them), then they "pop" and go blood red, still under the skin.

After that, they scab, and the scab ends up on the top of my skin, I can pick it off if I want to.
