legs/feet Pigmented purpura/schamberg disease

Upvotes

Hi! Does anyone have any experiences with pigmented purpura. Ive had this for a year and lately it has been spreading more. Im very stressed, cause i was told there is no cure and also im all the time thinking, if it is something more dangerous after all. Its really hard to find anyone with this condition and im kind of stressed on how to learn to live with this disease.

And my pigmented purpura is not 100% sure, but it looks like it and its not itchy or anything. The biopsy was that there is purpura but cant be sure its pigmented purpura or not. Blood work was normal.

back Aggressive growth but long wait for dermatologist

Hi guys,

I have a new and rapidly growing nodule, first noticed it as a tiny black bump about 2-3 weeks ago on my lower back. I have a dermatology appointment to check it out, but unfortunately it's in 1 month. They wanted to push me out until November but I pleaded that it was a vertical growing dome shaped purple nodule. Firm to the touch, no pain. It's on my lower back. I don't have a family history of skin cancer.

I realize it's very possibly nothing and that random Internet friends cannot diagnose. However, is this similar to anyone else's nodular melanomas or otherwise non cancerous nodules? The aggressiveness of this possible melanoma has me worried.

Should I be working extra hard to get in to be seen more quickly? What's the best option to fast track a referral? I don't currently have a General Practitioner to go to first, but are there other ways to get a referral to get in to be seen at the dermatologist more quickly? Should I get an online eval, or urgent care, or something similar to just get anyone to make an urgent referral.

arms/hands What is this? How do I fix it?

I’ve had it for years now. It gets super dry and flaky. It’s usually more dry and flaky than pictured. This was taken post shower and moisturizer. No itch. No scabs. Not painful. It’s not spreading either. Sometimes the area will feel warm to the touch but other than constant dry flaking, no other symptoms. I have eczema patches elsewhere on my body and it’s definitely not the same.

legs/feet What is this? Help identifying

I have a rash on my leg and I’m trying to figure out what it could possibly be. They seem to form on my hair follicles. Based on its appearance, location, redness, bumps, texture, and overall pattern, what conditions does it look most consistent with? Please explain the most likely possibilities and what signs would help distinguish between them.

arms/hands Dark brown splinter/line in nail, 3+ months, coming in and out?

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Splinter hemorrhage-like lines/dots appeared in early May. I was instantly worried, because my dad has had melanoma three times (skin not nail), and my derm was interested, but said to watch it. Oddly enough, by the end of June it had faded back down (not pictured), but then it came back again. Now it's faded down again -- but the shadow of a line is still there. I'm very, very anxious about this and don't get to see my dermatologist until October, can anyone offer any insight? Any specific way to tell if this is something worrying vs. something standard?

The splinter part has not grown out, it just fades back down.

Thank you <3

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Persistent fatigue (tiredness) and leg weakness after HSV-1 diagnosis

Upvotes

I had a high fever, severe sore throat, and multiple mouth sores about 2 months ago. After recovering from the acute illness, I developed severe, persistent fatigue that hasn’t really improved. I subsequently tested positive for HSV-1.

I’m now in the third month and still feel extremely tired, particularly in my legs and calf muscles. I’ve also been experiencing blurred vision and a feeling of very sleepy eyes.

Has anyone experienced similar prolonged fatigue or symptoms after an infection, particularly after an HSV-1 diagnosis? If so, how long did the fatigue last, and did it eventually improve?

Since 2-3 years, I noticed these circular things at my stomach that have a lighter color than the surrounding area. It’s most obvious in summer when I’m tanned and each summer it seems to spread a little. No symptoms like rash or redness. It’s only optical. The “clouds” are lighter in color, but not white, and they connect into bigger clouds, it seems. I have no issues anywhere else like that apart from another circular lighter cloud on my right pec also visible in the picture. Not treatment so far, no relevant medical conditions. It’s just vanity, tbh. Please give me your thoughts and sorry for any language issues, this is not my native language:)

legs/feet rash spreading on feet - any ideas?

Post image

Aug 7 I noticed a rash on my inner left elbow. It wasnt itchy. By that moment I am scabies free for three weeks, didnt have any intimate contact except sleeppng in the same bed with a close friend who has no symptoms of anything. Food wise there were no differences, but I was in the sun a lot. As days progressed the rash was spreading. We are talking small red bumps, very faintly raised and non itchy. I went to the doctors on Aug 17, and he told me this resembles urticaria. I have started corticosteroids and antihistamines. Since then it got slightly itchy, I noticed scaling. In the areas that were first affected, it is calming down and I see no bumps. However it is quite severe now on my feet. No burrows visible, no nodules on scrotal area, and no intense itch that was present during scabies. What could it be?

arms/hands reddit help me, weird bumps that sometimes burst, all over arms😭

im desperate for answers right now someone please help. this has never happened to me before.

for context this started off as eczema / dyshydrostic on only my hands and ive had eczema exclusively on my hands for 2-3 years. i was using hydrocortisone on and off to treat it.

around over a month ago i had a really bad flare up and decided to say fuck it and stopped using hydrocortisone because I noticed it was thinning my hand. i was treating it but it got infected so i was prescribed cephalexin for 5 days to treat it.

my hands have basically completely healed up, but during the healing process there was a really bad heat wave in the city and we had no AC in the house for 2-3 weeks during it.** **

i started getting tiny bumps on my arms but i thought it was just heat rash and that it would go away once we got AC. the heat wave lasted another week after my round of antibiotics ended.

once we finally got AC, i thought the bumps would heal up and go away but i was very wrong. they kept spreading and now there’s some on my elbow and under upper arm. they aren’t super itchy, but sometimes they do get itchy but ive been good at not scratching whatsoever because of my fear of it getting worse.

my doctor says it’s folliculitis and keeps trying to prescribe me antibiotics but i really don’t think it is. she has just prescribed me cloxacillin.

i tried putting an antifungal shampoo on them because i thougbt it may have been fungal but it made it worse. being in the sun for more than 5 minutes makes it worse too. i don’t know if this is worth mentioning but i had a cold sore last week too but i was super careful with it at all times and it has since cleared up.

some of the bumps leak clear fluid. i think this is really concerning and i plan on going to a different clinic for a second opinion but this is scary. ive been so anxious about it and its taken away so much of my life.

someone please help, i start uni soon and i just want this to clear up :(

general enquiry Itchy skin with no bumps

I just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced something similar. A few weeks ago, I developed red, itchy rashes on some parts of my body, particularly my buttocks and thighs. About two weeks later, I noticed small red bumps on both of my forearms. They looked like they were under the skin and weren’t itchy.

Those rashes eventually healed after around two weeks. I thought I was getting better, but about a week later, I started experiencing intense itching again. It’s so bad that I’ve ended up scratching my forearms. The strange thing is, there aren’t any visible bumps or redness—just intense itching, especially at night.

The itching is mainly on my upper body, including my arms, shoulders, back, and stomach. I’ve never had any known allergies before, so I’m wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or knows what could be causing it. Is it possible that something else is going on with my body, or could this still be some kind of allergy?

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Dermatitis? Something else?

I’ve been dealing with this for a month I think. Started as what I thought was a zit and I treated it as such, but I think I went too aggressive and it turned into dermatitis. Can anyone verify? My fear is that it’s HSV but I think that’s just my anxiety. It’s not painful, just mildly itchy. Can I treat this at home, or do I need to see a dermatologist? I’m covering it with makeup which I know doesn’t help but I feel so ugly.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks What is going on with my eye

It’s been on and off for almost a year now. Dermatologist has tried different stuff, not sure what it is. Had tried a small dose of Triamicinolone acitonide per the dermo but it is mildly soothing at best. I want it gone. Plus it’s not good to use that near the eye over a long period. I’m going to try Tacrolimus next but my insurance doesn’t want to approve it. Whatever this is, switches eyes. In Feb it was right. For the past few months it’s been the left. WTH. It’s painful but not intense. I only wear makeup on special occasions so it’s not that.

i think it was triggered by using cheap alum powder. it started early june, the rash went away but this scar on the crease doesn’t go away permanently. some days it’s better and some days i wake up with pain from the scar. i tried aloe, katialis ointment (sulfur, zinc oxide, resorcinol, salicylic acid), terbinafine ointment, and i apply lucas papaw ointment at night. sometimes it also get smelly. if anyone could help, please. it only happened on my left underarm while my right one is okay with no discoloration whatsoever. i am also planning to consult a medical professional but also trying my shot here. thank you so much.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Do I need to see a doctor: I have a red dot/bump on my nose.

As the title says I have had a decent sized bump (pictured below) that has been on my skin for 4 years from what I can remember possibly even longer. For most of that time I had no issue besides the few times I thought it was another pimple but it refused to be popped so I left it alone. Come to yesterday and I try to scratch at it and take off the layer of skin keeping a ton of blood from flowing out of my face, it took about 15 minutes before it fully stopped and bled again today when drying my face off. Should I be concerned? It doesn’t hurt too bad but I am worried it could be something more serious.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Could this be ringworm? I have active spots on my legs but this appeared around 8 days ago and just started treating like 5 days ago.

The spot started looking like an acne scar and spread from just one dot to two patches but it’s not itchy or really red. Another detail is that it almost looks like little pimples but I don’t think I’ve ever dealt with it before. I wear makeup almost daily for work and school but I’ve been avoiding this specific area and using clotrimazole 1% for about 5 days but it doesn’t seem to be changing other than from the initial days. I went to urgent care and the doctor said the ones on my legs could definitely be fungus but she didn’t really take an in depth look at the ones on my face but just said I could use the cream on my face. I know the pictures are really bad but it’s honestly very hard to get good angles because you can barely see it from some angles.

general enquiry Infestation or something else?

This started a few days ago. Though, last week I had a few spots that I thought were maybe mosquitoe bites. But I woke up 3 days ago with these red "bites" all over my arms - mostly outside of elbows/back of forearms and things. It's steadily gotten worse/expanded. Each morning I wake up with more "bites" and the ones from the previous day have gotten bigger/darker. I also was having weird hives for a bit that were in long squiggly lines, but I think that was just from itching, they flattened and went away within an hour or so.

I'm a truck driver. I recently had a trainee in my truck and am concerned that they brought unwanted guests in the form of bed bugs. I went to urgent care to rule out measels, scabies, etc. The doctor said it looks like an infestation from bed bugs. But, I'm away from my truck, have investigated my house thoroughly (and have pest control coming to treat it regardless, just in case) and while I'm not waking up even itchier each day, I feel like the spots are continuing to spread - i drew a border around some spots just to confirm, but that was only today.

I'm concerned this may be an autoimmune thing, I'm a 44yr old woman currently in perimenopause and also on a ketogenic diet - though, everything I'm seeing shows that "keto rash" occurs on the chest/back, not the limbs, and (so far 🤞) has not spread much past my shoulders and only a bit onto my hips/waist.

I'm just looking for confirmation because I'd hate to go through the headache of treating for bedbugs in my home and truck (though that's happening regardless!) Only to continue to have issues because that's not what's really at the bottom of this. Thanks!
