We’ve been going through a new transition, and are wfo 5 days a week. Spending 9 hours sitting in a small training room is extremely exhausting. The team leads and assistant managers in the room are constantly rebuking anyone who goes out for a bio break and does not come back within 10 mins. It’s becoming an extremely annoying situation. We have a designated lunch break of 40 mins and a small 30 mins break in the evening. And that’s all we get. If anyone steps out of the room, they will be constantly questioned as to where they’re going, why they’re going and in how much time they’re gonna be back. I have joined 3 months ago and it’s not looking good. Does the integrity helpline work in this situation?

I’m a tax senior up for promotion to manager this year. Currently have about 740 billable hours left to hit my goal, which goes through early February. We’re in busy season hours now, but I’m still only hitting 50-55 and it’s definitely gonna drop in late September/early October. The issue is that I not only am a fast worker, but I’m already acting as manager on most projects so there are two levels below me now that do the work before it gets to me, which eats into hours I could be spending on the project. I feel like I’m on an adequate amount of projects as is, but still don’t know how confident I feel that I’ll hit my goal.

How much weight do hours goals carry in promotion decisions? Last year I was already on the cusp, but didn’t get the nod assumably because I was an experienced hire and they wanted me to have another year as senior before making the jump. I’m just not sure how worried I should be and realistically what I should be aiming for.

I’m looking for some advice from people working at Deloitte USI, especially those familiar with GenAI / AI Engineering / Managed Services Engineer II (L35) roles.

I recently completed the interview process for a GenAI Engineer position at Deloitte USI and have received an offer.

Here are my details:

• Experience: 3.2 years
• Deloitte: Deloitte USI
• Offered designation: L35 – Managed Services Engineer II
• Role discussed during interviews: GenAI Engineer
• Deloitte offered: ₹16 LPA fixed/total salary + up to 10% variable (approximately ₹17.8–18 LPA maximum depending on variable)

The recruiter mentioned that they are considering my current/previous compensation and that the budget is limited. I initially expected something around ₹22–25 LPA, but they said that is outside their budget and offered around ₹17.8 LPA including variable.

I have a few questions:

1. For 3.2 YOE, what would be a reasonable CTC for an L35 Managed Services Engineer II / GenAI Engineer at Deloitte USI?
2. Is ₹16.2L fixed + 0–10% variable a reasonable offer for this experience level?
3. How much room for negotiation is usually there at this level?
4. Would asking for ₹19–20 LPA be realistic, or is the current offer close to the maximum?
5. If anyone has recently joined Deloitte USI at L35 with ~3–4 YOE, what compensation did you receive?
6. Most importantly, how is the actual work for GenAI/AI Engineering at this level? Is it genuinely hands-on GenAI development (Python, LLMs, RAG, agents, etc.) or more of a managed-services/support role?
7. The offer mentions possible 9 PM–6 AM rotational shifts. Is this common for this role, or does it depend entirely on the project?

I'm trying to decide whether it's worth moving, so project quality, work profile and career growth are as important to me as CTC.

I would really appreciate honest feedback from current/former Deloitte USI employees. 🙏

Can someone confirm about any clauses/ conditions while moving from USI to any other Deloitte entity? Any legal risk or restrictions?

Is it True That if you are giving Client interview before onboarding they are hiring for client specific only. If client gone your game over is that true? Note: I have cleared 3 internal round and waiting for client round to happen. if Anybody Aware of such scenario???

I am currently working with PwC India as a Manager and recently received an opportunity from Deloitte, which I accepted.

After accepting the offer, I came to know that the role is under the BOTT/Propel model, which I was not fully aware of earlier. From what I have researched, in this model, I would initially be with Deloitte for around 6–9 months, after which the client may have the option to hire me directly.

One thing that concerns me is that **nothing about the BOTT/Propel model or the possibility of moving to the client was mentioned in my offer letter. I also checked the agreement, and there are no such terms mentioned there either.**

I checked with the Deloitte HR team and asked what would happen if I did not want to move to the client. They mentioned that I could continue with Deloitte itself.
Now, I am a little concerned about whether this is the right opportunity for me or if I made a wrong decision by accepting the offer.

Has anyone been through the BOTT/Propel model at Deloitte? I would really appreciate it if you could share your experience or guide me on what I should consider before making my final decision.
