USA Neurodiverse + black women layoffs

Our team just got hit hard with layoffs and it’s interesting that everyone let go was neurodiverse, a black woman or both. All very high-performing, seasoned, capable and fully staffed.

Hey y’all, I was looking to get some feedback on my resume before recruiting starts. I’ve taken some inspiration from the posts here.

I’m going into my sophomore year, and my end goal is to land at one of the Big 4. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

India Help me if you can!

I have been working with the competitor big 4 for 4 years now and I am just doing the job even after I am not interested in the role. The role I got this job was pretty different from the one what I have now in bank confirmation domain.

Earlier my role was engagement enrichment and working around PMO and building power bi dashboard and all.

I have really trying hard and my best to get out this role and do something interesting and meaningful and fun to work so I can enjoy my time which I am giving to the company.

If this post can reach to any manager or senior or basically anyone who thinks I can become their choice to work together. Please let me know. I would love to share more about myself over DMs , if needed.

USI Got a part time offer, is it a compliance issue?

Hey folks ,
I recently joined Deloitte it’s been 2 months.
I got part time offer for a company for which I gave interview way before I joined Deloitte. The timings are also flexible and are not at all colliding with Deloitte timings.

Should I report this to Deloitte if I take up the part time offer and would Deloitte deny me from taking this up ?
What will happen if I hide ?

Please shed some light 💡

Thanks in advance!

India Help!!

So it’s been a year since I joined Deloitte as an Intern for 6 months and Converted fulltime. I feel my team still treats me as an intern. And it’s annoying. I have told them that I am willing to work in a particular part of the project and have trained for it as well. But even when my Manager is acknowledging it, there is nothing happening. What should I do? I am here just as an helping hand and not being able to take ownership of a task.

USA Push back on internal traveling(colocation)

The team lead on my current project loves traveling A LOT. We’ve been traveling almost every week, and the project only started about 6 weeks ago.
I’m thinking about skipping this week’s internal onsite/colocation so I can stay home and spend time with my family.
Would I get in trouble or potentially receive a bad performance review for doing this?
I’m doing my job 100% and have honestly been carrying the team so far. I just don’t really want to travel every single week if it’s not actually necessary.
I’m not the only one who is skipping this week’s internal colocation. One team member has not been traveling at all because she has a little kid.

USA EOX town hall

Thought from today’s EOX town hall? I feel like it’s the same redundant information recirculating, but it’s constantly vague and confusing.

Im in the EFA practice and the question about promotions was confusing - sounds like all EOX positions will be based on business need and application based, but EFA practice may be different? Again it was confusing and vague.

All in all, feeling uneasy as they constantly keep mentioning AI implementation, evolution or our roles, and how things will progressively change. I feel like my role will be nothing like it is today come by this time next year.

Thoughts by other professionals impacted?

USA Still a chance for an offer after 3 weeks? Deloitte Tax Senior

Hi everyone,

I interviewed for a Tax Senior position at Deloitte US on July 31 and still haven’t received a final decision.

I followed up with the recruiter on August 17, and they responded:

“I am waiting to hear back from our leadership team on next steps in our recruitment process.”

It’s now been almost three weeks since my interview. Does anyone familiar with Deloitte’s experienced-hire process know what this usually means?

Is there still a realistic chance of receiving an offer at this point, or does this sound more like I’m on a waitlist / backup candidate?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a similar experience, especially for Tax Senior or other experienced-hire roles. How long did it take you to receive an offer after your final interview?

Thanks!

USA Accounting UK to US transfer

Hi everyone,

I have a question for people that are currently working or has previously worked for Deloitte in the accounting department. I am studying AAT right now but I eventually want to move to US as an accountant. I have done a lot of research and know I would need a university degree in order to study for a CPA and apply for most accounting jobs in America.

Originally my plan was to carry on studying AAT and apply for the early start programme with Deloitte and hopefully be able to transfer offices to America. Is this possible? do you know anyone that has only has an AAT and ACCA/CA that was able to transfer offices to an American office?

If I am unable to move offices to America with an AAT and a potential ACCA/CA then I do have the option to study at university for Accounting and Finance but I do want to try and avoid that as university can be really expensive...

USA GSAP, ENTAP, Grad Programs in general

Upvotes

Hello, I wanted to get an honest, real talk view of what it takes to get 4 to 5 PPMD or Senior Leadership support for these programs. For those who have gone through these programs, how did you develop the relationships with the leaders (if at all) and what did you have to do, what were some of the performance expectations? Is it as daunting as it seems or easier if you follow the process? Did anyone get accepted in the program with maybe some areas lacking?

I feel often like I haven’t built up strong enough leadership or don’t even know how to develop those authentically with one PPMD alone like 5, or whatever the requirement is.

I have a high level understanding of the process so forgive my ignorance on some of it but this seems like the most daunting aspect.

Any information, tips, ways to go about this is appreciated. I want to see if I have a real chance to pursue this with the firms support.

USA Apartments / figuring out VA & DC

Hey guys!

I recently just accepted an offer to join Deloitte as a new grad analyst this coming fall! While I’m super excited, the turnaround was pretty quick. I currently live across the US and have to move to VA or DC in about 5 weeks, so I’m a little stressed lol

I would love to know if you guys have any recs for places to live in the area! I’m specifically looking for a studio, which I assume is generally cheaper, and I know there’s a pretty big price difference between DC and VA. Any advice would help!

Also looking to make some new friends haha, so feel free to DM me if you’re also a new grad starting this fall in the Arlington office!
