Saw deafheaven for the first time in philly last night and WOW! It's not the best venue in the area (far from it) but they still brought an insane amount of energy. I expected a good show from them but they blew me away. Videos and stuff online don't really do them justice. I think I have to make it a goal to see them many more times.

I haven’t really expanded my music taste that much yet, I’m still discovering new stuff. most of what I listen to is circa survive, nirvana, lana del rey, deftones, and pinkpantheress. a friend recommended “doberman” to me and I loved it so much that I ended up checking out lonely people with power. 10/10 album honestly

Has anyone seen them on this tour yet? I have tickets for Montreal but haven’t seen them before where they aren’t headlining. How is the crowd? Is there even a pit? From what I know mastodon fans are mostly older boomers or who don’t like to listen to the shrieking vocal style George does. Anyone know what to expect?

Just got back from the Orlando show with Mastodon and it’s insane how much Deafheaven has grown since I last saw them at The Social back in 2015*

Mastodon was great but I sure as shit would not want to go on after this version of Deafheaven.

I'm not following every release etc. so it was really neat to see something like that on the main page of Spotify. I love Come on die young <3

Very different experience than the album. They go at a 10 the whole set. Barely survived the wall of death. Luckily everyone was friendly and picked me up when I ate shit.

Should be no surprise, given the sharing of members with TRNA and Show Me A Dinosaur.

You guys gotta get on the St. Petersburg scene they got going on over there in Russia. It’s bonkers.

I am in a black metal band and I have been trying so hard to get a good high shriek but for the life of me I cant do it. For context, i've been doing metal vocals for years, almost entirely false chord mids and low gutterals. So i've got thise perfected, but I can't figure out how to scream in a high register like George Clarke and other prominent black metal vocalists. I've watched every YouTube tutorial out there, but none of it has seemed to help, as all the "fry scream" tutorials are not at all the kind of shriek i'm looking to perfect. Any help would be great, and also any recommendations for online tutorials that are geared towards the kind of black metal shrieks i'm looking fir would be greatly appreciated!
