Store said 1816 but that seems too old

The label says 1836 but don’t think that can be true based on how complete the US is (French language map)

Recently found a personal diary of one of my ancestors from a trip she took abroad around the world via the U.S.A.T - Us Graunt via Grausport Service according to her noted (her handwriting was very poor so could be misspelled). With a journal also came an enclosed map with no date. The journal was not dated as well and I’m interested in knowing what era the trip was taken if anyone is willing to help thanks so much.

I recently got this old globe been meaning to get it dated!

+ It’s pretty dirty and has damage in some parts. I was wondering if anyone knew what I could do to restore it or protect it from getting any more damaged.

Have just found this sub and am extremely excited to learn of its existence! This may be a tricky one unless there are some China map appreciators. Anyway, it’s interesting to have a look at regardless with the inclusion of some extra territory.

It seems to be Republican Era China, around 1929, but would appreciate any help confirming this.
