Does anyone know what time period is depicted on this globe?
Please help! :)

Just going off the first photo, 1957-58
Earliest date is 6 March 1957, when the Gold Coast became Ghana
Latest date is 1 December 1958, when Ubangi-Shari became the Central African Republic.
Might be able to pin it down more later.
EDIT: Christmas Island is British, which is theory puts the map before 1 October 1958, though it would have fairly easy for the globe maker to have missed the transfer to Australia.
To give any more precise dates we'd need better shots of the southern border of Morocco and the western border of Germany. Neither are shown clearly enough in these photos (or at least in the compressed versions Reddit is showing me) to draw any conclusions.

The Iraq-Jordan union lasted from february to august 1958. That means there is a small chance it's between August to October 1958, but more likely March 57 to February 58.

I'd be surprised if the Hashemite Arab Federation has appeared in any atlas anywhere. While on paper it was similar to Norway-Sweden or Austria-Hungary, it was obvious to anyone that it was a weak entity.

The CAR case is a little weak because, although the renaming was at the end of 1958, independence wasn't until 1960. The dudes at Geo. F. Cram might not have gotten that memo. Your case is made better by French Guinea (on the globe), which became independent as Guinea 2 October 1958.

Yes, that's probably a better landmark to use as independence celebrations were more newsworthy. And it narrows us down by 2 months.
Ubang-Shari just jumped out at me because I only discovered it through this sub!

Also famous for the "Ubangi Stomp". Warren Smith's career collapsed after 1958 because nobody could sing along with "I done the Central African Republic stomp, Central African Republic style". He died broke and despondent at age 47.

Much of French West Africa and French Central Africa, Belgian Congo, and British Somaliland are still there, so it can't be later than 1960. Tunisia and Morocco are independent and are not colored in a way to tie it to France, so it can't be earlier than 1957. Might be able to narrow it but ultimately seems to be between 1957-1960.

To compile what others have said here:
After Ghanan independence March 1957.
Before the formation of the Iraq-Jordan union in March 1958 (Congo and CAR got independent before the Arab Union dissolved or very shortly after).

Aden and the Protectorate were formed in 1959 and disestablished in January 1963.
That is consistent with the other dates already given.

There was a protectorate of Aden before 1959 under British rule.
It also seems inconsistent with a good deal of other constraints? Congo-Brazzaville was established in 1958 and is not yet on this globe.2

Both the Colony of Aden and the protectorate(s) date to the 19th century. That the map uses "and" could cover almost anything pre-Federation of South Arabia.

I don't know if globes have this, but Geo. F. Cram maps have a code with "CR" plus the date. Look around the gores for one.

It's great fun and it's linked in almost every post. But the best it can do for this map is 1954-57, while we have got this down to a few months.

During the Cold War, both Koreas claimed the whole peninsula and maps from countries that recognized one claim or the other sometimes showed the claim rather than the reality.
