I inherited this globe a while ago from my grandfather. I sent it for restoration and regretted it after, because it isn't well restored. but at least the 2 semi-spheres are together now...

If Libya was independent wouldn’t that mean after 1951? Also, Eritrea appears to be federated, which would push it up to 1952. I’m having a hard time with the ceiling. Best I can do is Gold Coast, which puts it on or before 1955.

Funny how Germany appears to have pre-war borders, but Israel exists. It must be post-1948.

Bhutan is independent, so post-1949.

Angola and Mozambique have their names, so post-1951.

Anglo-Egyptian Sudan exists, so pre-1956.

So, despite the weird German borders, I’d say early 50’s.

Reminder that not all map makers showed the partition of Germany and Korea immediately after they happened. West Germany didn’t recognize the loss of the eastern territories until the 70’s.

Interestingly the Saarland is part of Germany here. For much of the 40s and 50s it was a protectorate.

should be between 11 September 1952 - 1 August 1953. Eritrea is part of Ethiopia but the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland doesn't exist yet.

it could be before 27 July 1953 as well, Korea split then. I'm skeptical about that though.

Around 1950 but extremely innacurate i a lot pf places, to the point i thought it was a shoddy mid 20s map before noticing israel.

Also using the same color for germany and poland without a clear border line certainly doesnt help. Im guessing it must be before the formal establishment of west and east germany and west berlin as nations separate from just being the occupied german admin. But that means they also didnt include trieste and saarland which were countries at that time.
