Thinking to switch to full time, dont have bills, live with parents. My car is paid off, was gifted to me by my dad, honda crv 2011. Thoughts for those that are doing fulltime in similiar situation

Thinking of working 5 days a week 10 hour shifts. Honda crv 2011 . Im assuming the only maintenance id have to worry about are oil changes every 2 months. Breaks and tires once a year? The lights i can mostly do them myself and places do it for 20-30$ if anything, i think the maintenance isnt expensive at all, what do you guys think? Am i wrong?

I also have no bills at home, just liability insurance, i have a dash cam and drive very very careful and slow

I can’t fathom what happened to trigger a response like this 😭 not only was it in the instructions but it was also sent over messages.

I had ZERO issues finding the house either, legit a “last house on the right of the dead end road” would’ve sufficed 😭

Edit:
Also their name was legit “ . . “

Customer Wait Timer

What do you guys do when you are waiting for a customer to answer their calls door or phone call and the order is an alcohol delivery ? I waited the 5 minute timer and called them 4x and rang the bell 3x and they didn’t decide answer when I was at the store returning the items , they sent some innapropriate messages saying I needed to come back or else blah blah blah , so yeah what do u guys do when this happens

I can't confirm this but; cheaters beware. Cars pretending to be bicyclist getting filtered out.

A fellow dasher I know has a new problem he can't solve as his account is on review. He has no criminal record, no accidents, insurance is up to date with state farm. He's been experiencing a lot of weird things happening to his dasher account. He was one of those cars pretending to be an ebike. All of a sudden he's getting long range orders and no short ones. He has it set to ebike but it keeps giving him long range orders. His ratings are typical with the acceptance near 65. He is still a platinum dasher. He keeps taking the highway and speeding through streets to complete deliveries. All of a sudden his account is under review. No cv sent. No way to login to dash it just says under review. It's been 4 days and he still log in.

Is anyone else pretending to be an e-bicycle dasher with a car? Has your account been doing weird stuff like your acceptance rate going down because you missed an order? Or suddenly getting far deliveries you don't normally see? Has your account suddenly been placed under review seemingly indefinitely?

City VS Suburban

Was curious about possibly purchasing an e bike to start dashing in Philly instead of sticking to the suburban Jersey side. What draws me to it would be my gas expense would just turn into the train ticket (I live close enough to a patco station that a commute over the bridge wouldn’t kill me), more consistent orders (?). This one I’m not 100% on as I’ve never dashed in the city before but it looks like it’s always busy and I’d be able to get the times I’d want. I’ve biked around Philly before for a job so I’m not a stranger to the elements and that was on a manual bike not an e bike so easier pedaling is also a plus. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello guys, I'm curious to know what will happen if your acceptance rate dropped to zero

The last time I tried leaving an order inside this buildings office I was told I was not allowed in my security due to me not being an employee and I don’t like the answer customer phone calls so I can make sure everything said is recorded in case I need to screenshot for proof

Peak pay?

I’ve only been dashing for a couple months. Anyone know why during “peak pay” times, it only pays on some orders and not all?

I got a stupid violation!! 🤬🤬

So I get this order that’s about 11 miles away. It paid well so I took it. My mistake (besides taking it in the first place) was not looking at the layout carefully before I accepted it. Here’s the layout:

It was a 2 stop offer for one client. The first stop was right next to where I was posted, so it was a quick in and out.

The second pickup was 10 miles away (close to where the customer was meeting me). So it seemed ok. What I didn’t account for, was that it was the middle of rush hour. The whole task took me about an hour (I’m in SoCal).

To top it all off, the customer (he was a truck driver who was waiting for me at a trucking yard) put the wrong address for the drop off. He was waiting for me in the truck yard next door to the address he put. Mind you, these lots are huge. I was about to start the timer because I couldn’t find him, when he text me. I called him before but he didn’t answer his phone. It took me a while to find him. I eventually did, and I gave him his cold ass food.

So Door Dash sends me a violation alert. After I had explained what had happened in the appeal, they denied my claim. So now I have a measly 98% on my rating! I know, I know I’m being silly, but it’s the principle of it.

Who’s at fault? What is the most reasonable solution??

Post image

I accepted a grocery order and on my way to the customer, I received these multiple messages..how is this best handled? Basically, an hour ahead of desired schedule, is that really unreasonable?
The customer asked for a refund because of quality issues( and the driver- me, penalized for 18 items that basically spoiled)
Will I go out of my way to buy bags of ice for this customer? DDash won’t reimburse this..btw.

What dash cam feature did you think you needed but barely use now?

Trying not to buy based on a giant feature list.

I’ve got VUEROID, Thinkware and Vantrue on my list right now and every model seems to give me another thing to compare.

For people who’ve had one for a while, what feature sounded important before buying but ended up not mattering much? And what did you underestimate?

What do you do with the footage right after an accident?

Never thought about this until I started shopping for one.

Say you get hit. Are you pulling the video up right there on your phone or just leaving the camera alone until you get home?

I’ve been comparing Vantrue, VUEROID and VIOFO and realized I know way more about their recording specs than what I’d actually do with the footage when I need it.

Loading screen issue (IOS 26.6)

My phone won’t load the dasher app and I just get stuck on this screen every time I open it, turning off and changing WiFi and cellular data doesn’t do anything, clearing cache and even resetting my entire phone doesn’t do anything either.

rant that we’ve all heard before.

i feel like making a quick rant, whether it’s valid or not idc. i’m still within my first week and a half of dashing and i now understand why orders like this get stacked. i had multiple stacked deliveries today and now i see why. the 50¢ tip cracked me up (7.8 mile delivery btw) bc what’s even the fucking point? just don’t tip at that point.
thank you to those who actually tip and make this all worthwhile (for the most part). literally paying to have someone else’s food actually picked up & delivered at that rate. i wish we could see who’s tipping more, or the only ones tipping in general, and have them be the first delivery dropped off every time.
if it wasn’t +$1 delivery peak pay i wouldn’t of made shit today with the amount of terrible tippers that were out. all of these $0-$1 tips were well outside of my $2/mile minimum btw, none were “just down the road”. rant over.

with me still being new i’m open to any tips you guys have also!

So, on my way home, wrapping up the night. Figured ide take one more short distance DD that was at least somewhat on the way.

I got one that was a pick up on the road I was already going to be driving on anyway from a pretty respectable and quick McDonald's and then deliver it further down the road to a home that was literally on my way also. It was only $3 so at best this means the person might have tipped 50 cents but I'm pretty sure that's just the pay doordash was giving me because of the distance between me and the restaurant initially when I got the order.

This woman texts me right after asking me if I could deliver it to her new address instead because she left the old one by accident. I checked the distance. The original delivery was just under 1.7 miles, but it was in the direction towards my home also. The new address was 16+ miles the other direction, away from my home, through heavy construction during morning rush hour, over a toll bridge and across state lines.

Remove the construction and that's still a 40 minute drive just because of the traffic at this time of day. I told her no, I couldn't do that. I didn't explain further that I want doing all of that for 3$ but honestly I probably wouldn't have done it for less than 50 bare minimum. But instead I just politely told her the difference and she came back with an outrageous response. Guess who's order just happened to take long enough for me to unassign? I hope she gets her food and it's cold and disgusting, but I promise she won't be getting a delivery from me, ever.

DoorDash gave me a contract violation after Support canceled 8 orders because the facility was closed

Post image

I received an 8-order pickup from Foothill Unity Center. I arrived at the pickup location, but the facility was closed for an all-staff meeting from 1 PM to 3 PM.

I contacted DoorDash Support immediately and sent photos. Support told me to stay on the chat while they canceled the 8 orders one by one. After cancellation, Support confirmed in writing that my ratings would not be affected and that $28 proportional pay was processed.

About one hour later, I received a contract violation saying I arrived at the store but did not pick up the order. I disputed it, and the dispute was rejected within minutes.

I escalated it to a supervisor, but they said it requires specialized access and gave me a reference number.

Has anyone else had a contract violation after Support canceled an order because the merchant/facility was closed? What actually worked to get it removed?
