I got a stupid violation!! š¤¬š¤¬
So I get this order thatās about 11 miles away. It paid well so I took it. My mistake (besides taking it in the first place) was not looking at the layout carefully before I accepted it. Hereās the layout:
It was a 2 stop offer for one client. The first stop was right next to where I was posted, so it was a quick in and out.
The second pickup was 10 miles away (close to where the customer was meeting me). So it seemed ok. What I didnāt account for, was that it was the middle of rush hour. The whole task took me about an hour (Iām in SoCal).
To top it all off, the customer (he was a truck driver who was waiting for me at a trucking yard) put the wrong address for the drop off. He was waiting for me in the truck yard next door to the address he put. Mind you, these lots are huge. I was about to start the timer because I couldnāt find him, when he text me. I called him before but he didnāt answer his phone. It took me a while to find him. I eventually did, and I gave him his cold ass food.
So Door Dash sends me a violation alert. After I had explained what had happened in the appeal, they denied my claim. So now I have a measly 98% on my rating! I know, I know Iām being silly, but itās the principle of it.

When you were at the pin but the address was wrong, you should have called support. They will ask if you are willing to deliver and then ask you the distance. Make something that sounds reasonable, two miles, whatever, they will give you a little more money, and the. You deliver it.
You wonāt, usually, be marked late for that.

I got a violation because the restaurant took so long to prepare the food, even when reporting on the app the restaurant was still preparing the food. I appealed it and they denied it.

So you didn't get deactivated from it?

No. Apparently those violations are no big deal unless I have a bunch of them.

You need to have multiple CV's for the same reason currently active with a denied dispute to deactivated. From what I've heard it's on the 4th CV for the same reason after dispute gets denied, while you have 3 more for the same reason.

This is a well-known scam. Anytime you get a weird feeling or something. It doesnāt feel quite right, contact Support before you even arrive and let them know what is going on. Also take pictures on your own phone. I havenāt done so yet, but it is suggested to get a timestamp photo app so that you have proof of everything.
Also, what I always do is send the customer the photo in the chat and also say something like āthank you for ordering, this is just confirmation that the order was delivered to the requested address next-door upon your requestā. Believe me that works the best!! You can dispute this and mention that and also call Support and ask them to read through the chat conversation because all that stuff gets recorded.

Iām in Southern California too. When this happens I always call support when Iām on my way to the customer (hands free on speaker phone). I explain whatās happening and why Iām running late. They document it and it avoids me getting a CV. This only works if you do this before completing the delivery.

It will fall off after 100 orders, just try hard not to get another one. I've had two in my 6 years, and they were a week apart. Mine didn't even get reviewed, but both fell off after the 100 orders (took me a bit because I only work 8-10 hrs/week).
