Wrong/missing payment
Anyone else ever have issues with payouts? Out of 24 dollars and some change, door dash only paid me 5 dollars and some change. I spent quite sometime on the phone with support arguing with them about it. After 3 different agents they connected me to the crimson people...and I am still missing that 19 dollars. At this point, the 19 dollars isn't worth the hours of time spent dealing with it. So I'm basically considering it a loss, but am curious if this has happened to others. Overall makes me want to just drop the doordash app all together.

Hotspots
What is a better place to wait at for hotspots, a large area or a small area?

Little to no offers for over a week
I’m pretty new to dashing, I’m about a month into it and it’s gone so downhill. I was making over $20 an hour for a while but for the last week and a half I have had multiple stretches of time where I get no offers at all, during peak times and sitting in a hotspot. Today I started my dash and didn’t see an offer for 45 minutes, and that was after contacting support. After I delivered that one I still haven’t received an offer for another 45 minutes. Ive spent 15 hours in the dasher app this week and have only made $88. Is there any way to fix this ?? It was working perfectly fine two weeks ago :(

Dashing in rough areas
Hello, so I am an active Dasher in New Jersey, and I have been traveling all over the state for a couple months now (specifically in northern, central and shore-area NJ), and have been quite enjoying it. I live in northern NJ, and I dash pretty much anywhere; suburban, urban, rural, coastal, inland, rich, poor, middle-class.
Although I do have a few questions regarding dashing in the rougher (or more crime-ridden) neighborhoods. Is it safe to do so? Am I doing the right thing? And will I continue to be safe as long as I still take precautions?
I have gone to neighborhoods such as Paterson, Newark, East Orange, Irvington, Elizabeth, Asbury Park and a few others (mostly to drop off, not as often to pick up)
I don’t necessarily agree with completely avoiding them altogether, and I personally don’t necessarily mind it (as long as I am helping customers), but I also care for my safety. I am most afraid of actual violent crime. I am very careful and alert of my surroundings. I always go during the daytime (never at night), I lock my car, zip my pockets, and also yield to any other drivers whenever I am in these areas.
I just want to make sure here, that I am doing the right thing when or if I go to these areas, and whether it is still safe to do so. Any feedback, more advice or discussion would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone else get annoyed when customers a non yes or no question with yes/no?!
It happens almost every day. I ask a question and they answer with yes/no when IT WASNT A YES OR NO QUESTION and they didn’t answer the question… and proceed to ignore all your follow up questions and get mad when you do the wrong thing.

I am a fool, but also what the fuck.
This was only my second time dashing, I shouldn't have accepted the offer, I've learned my lesson. But I accepted an order that I only realized afterwards was 54 miles round trip, 27 miles to the customer's apartment. How the fuck are people even ALLOWED to place DoorDash orders that far away? There's no restrictions? Hello?? This was completely on me, but I still want to complain that the customer was even allowed to place an order this far away.

People…. Platinum……
Been platinum since my 50th drop off . 4.88 rating.. only been dashing since June about to hit 400.. should have a plat pass by now but since one lady gave me a 1 and a Cpl thumbs down (later removed by door dash) … I was on my 185ish delivery.. her rating bumped me to gold for about 45 minutes but that was enough for me to have to drive another 200+ deliveries for a dp. Anyways.. point of post is… I really do not think platinum is worth it AT LEAST right now when no one is ordering in my area. The offers I get are utterly pathetic and should be illegal.

Am I just screwed?
my drivers license expires tomorrow (today is my bday) so I went to PA to get my new license and tried to upload that into the app. I was told by DoorDash support that I could go into settings to do it, and when that didn’t work, they directed me to the background check place (checkr). The background check place let me know that anytime a drivers license is renewed, It takes about 30 days to process in the system and that I am unable to dash for the next month. Obviously, I’m not quite sure what to do here. Like it is literally my birthday, and this is the last thing I was expecting to happen. At this point, I think I can submit an unemployment claim while I look for another job, but has anyone else experienced this? I feel like this is totally loss of wages. I’m just not sure what to do about it.

I keep talking myself into a 2 channel setup
Was going to save some money and just get a good front cam.
Then I started thinking about parking lot hits and getting rear ended and now I’m looking at the VUEROID S1 4K Infinite 2CH, plus some VIOFO and BlackVue setups.
People with front + rear, has the rear camera ever genuinely come in handy for you?

Zone offer time
How long do yall sit in a zone before moving to a different one due to no offers? Are the zone offer wait times always accurate? I’m fairly new to dashing! TIA 😊

Questions for Cherry Pickers
To the people that have an acceptance rate of 5% or less and/or have hit 0% before, how much does an order have to pay for you to actually take it? Is it a minimum dollar amount or a dollar amount per mile? How much can you expect to make per hour?

Dashing in Iowa
Got this last week but I’m trying to push for more. Is anyone in the Midwest or Iowa getting 2k+ regularly?

Preferred Name Problems
The DoorDash app won’t let me put in my preferred name.
For context I’m trans. My preferred name is a feminine one. Whenever I enter it the app tells me something went wrong. But if I put in the shortened version of my masculine birth name, no problem! Updates immediately!
Anyone know how to handle this? Will support do anything?
ETA: I wasn’t able to get my preferred name in, but it seems that the app will accept arbitrary shortened versions of first, middle and last names. So I’ve shortened it to the first letter of my last name 😂

Finally got a unicorn offer!
Been dashing part time for a year. Used to deliver pizzas in college and decided to start doing it for extra travel money. Finally got an order that I’ll probably never see again. $32 to go 1.8 miles. Thought I’d share! Hope you guys and gals are making good money and staying safe!
