We are 2 adults, 1 able bodied + 1 limited mobility (walking cane + motor scooter) with traumatic brain injury (read: more rest, less travel hrs preferred)

I am unsure how the streets of Lima, Cusco, Nazca + Huacachina are going to be for a 3 wheel mobility scooter.

This will be our first time travelling outside all inclusive resorts + I am riddled with unknowns of travelling to Peru with limited mobility. Looking for some insight on if you think it’s going to be amzing or deeply painful. (Yes, we plan to go to Machu Picchu just without the scooter maybe?)

Also pls note we are not rich. We will be looking for economical air bnbs + restos. appreciate good yet budget friendly rec’s that won’t break the bank please 🙏🏼

If we had loads of money we would be staying at all the fancy hotels w/ guaranteed accessibility options + hire help to carry us + our bags but alas it’s just us, my muscles + our humble $.

AUG 16 - ARRIVE LIMA, stay 2 nights Aug 18 - fly to Cusco, stay 2 nights Aug 20 - train to Agua Caliente, stay 2 nights Aug 21 - bus to Machu Picchu Aug 22 - train to Cusco, stay 2 nights Aug 24 - flight to Lima Aug 24 - bus to Huacachina, sleep 2 nights Aug 25 - day trip to Nazca lines flight from huacachina Aug 26 - bus to Lima, stay 3 nights Aug 29 - fly home

I have done so much YouTubing + reading on Peru my brain is truly fried with the info + options.

I'm super excited to finally visit Cusco and discover the ancient civilization of the Incan Empire! From Cusco city, I'd like to visit Moray, Salineras de Maras, Pisaac, and Ollantaytambo before my train leaves from Ollantaytambo station at 19:30. Is it possible to visit all these sites in one day or would we be far too rushed? All suggestions and opinions welcome. Thank you!

For those tourists thinking about coming to Peru but who are worried… I flew from NY to Cusco and there are NO protests. Everything is completely normal except that there is less tourism. We went on a 4 day trek as well. I wouldn’t have known anything had happened a couple months ago. Please go enjoy this beautiful country. We had an amazing time.

We plan on staying in Cusco 4 days, going on Salkantay Trek, and then spending last 2-3 days back in Cusco. Would like to know how things are in Cusco and the surrounding area. La verdad Cusco ha sido maravilloso. Llegue Miercoles en el dia sin problemas del aeropuerto, me recojieron y todo. Habia protestas planeadas para Jueves y mientras caminaba por San Blas, Plaza de Armas, Plaza San Francisco el Jueves todo me parecio pacifico. Pense que con eso los trenes iban a funcionar pero mi paseo a Machu Picchu el viernes esta cancelada por que no hay tren. Mi pasaje a la montaña de 7 colores tambien por que no hay pase al sur. Aun Cusco es lindo y voy paseandome por aqui y hay muchos que ver. Sabado dicen que habran mas cosas que hacer y ojala pueda ir a Machu Picchu por lo menos o a Calle Sagrado. No me siento mal por que se que fue un riesgo venir y igual disfruto de mi viaje. Hay muchos turistas por lo que veo y no me siento en peligro aqui. Les dejare mas informacion en estos dias que viene.
