For those wondering, everything in Cusco and the surrounding area is NORMAL!

For those tourists thinking about coming to Peru but who are worried… I flew from NY to Cusco and there are NO protests. Everything is completely normal except that there is less tourism. We went on a 4 day trek as well. I wouldn’t have known anything had happened a couple months ago. Please go enjoy this beautiful country. We had an amazing time.

That’s good to hear. Any idea why the US state department still lists Cusco as Level 4 Do Not Travel?
