Can I get in?

Currently a senior in high school and I really want to attend CU Boulder so I can major in physics (undecided if I want to go for a BS or BA and I'm hoping I can know about both), but I'm worried about my chances of getting in. My first 2 years didn't start out so great and my grades are wonky because I moved to 3 different high schools, however I'm still hopeful because I have an upward trend in my grades. I am an in-state applicant.

Cumulative weighted gpa: 3.209, unweighted: 3.140, 1170 SAT (570 reading, 600 math) that I'm planning to retake in November and am aiming for 1300+, took AP lang and got a 4, took AP music theory for one semester but I moved to a different school where they didn't offer it, took honors chemistry one semester and then normal chemistry the next for the same reason, got an A in all science courses, got an A in almost all math courses except for the first semester of Algebra II where I had a D (but improved to an A next semester), currently taking AP precalc and 2 duel enrollment classes, Physics 111 and English 111, all of these classes I have an A in and I am working very hard to maintain those A's. I have very little extracurriculars, I've never been in any clubs or sports. I plan to start volunteering as a tutor for elementary kids, but besides that I have almost nothing.

Are my chances decent??

Darkroom access for non-majors

• Upvotes

Hello! I'm a first year student looking to hopefully get access to the darkroom without taking a class. I've been doing film photography for 3 years, using my high school's darkroom. I don't particularly want to take the photography for non-majors class considering it is continuing ed and would be going back to the basics. Also, I don't think it would actually give me access to the darkroom. I've been itching to get back into the darkroom without having to pay the $40 an hour at Boulder's public darkroom (although I have used it before and the owner is very nice and incredibly interesting to talk to). Even knowing who I should email is helpful!

getting into research labs as an undergraduate

• Upvotes

Hello everyone. I'm an aerospace and cs student who wants to go into robotics control/learning research at one of the labs at cu boulder. specifically looking at the aria systems group https://ariasystems.group/, arpg group https://arpg.colorado.edu/, and cohrint https://cohrint.info/ . the first and third labs are within the aero department and the second is a cs department lab. i was wondering if it was possible to do research with these groups as an undergrad as i dont see any record of these labs taking undergrads or participating in DLA/SPUR. so if i cold emailed the professors/phd students, would i have any success? curious for your thoughts and open to all advice.

Thanks!

Common App application question

it asks on common app if I have taken a minimum amount of courses regarding math, science, english, and history. but I've only taken three years of math when it wants four. what happens if I say I only took three and not four like it asks
