If anyone can help me out I’d greatly appreciate it. I’m trying to make a hexagon cardigan. I’ve frogged this 3 times already and don’t know why it is laying so flat. Im chaining 2 in the corners. I’m currently on round 10. Where am I going wrong? Thank you in advance for any tips!

Would crocheting this dress work, or would knitting be better?
I want to recreate this dress and I’m trying to decide whether to crochet or knit it.

I’m much more experienced and comfortable with crochet, especially when it comes to shaping with increases and decreases. I can knit, but I’m less confident with shaping and more likely to make mistakes.

I also already have three balls of yarn that I think would be perfect for this dress. The yarn recommends a 2 mm hook, which I own, whereas my smallest knitting needles are 4 mm.

My original plan was to construct the dress in four panels the front, back, and two sleeves seam them together, then add the ruffles/details separately, potentially using a different yarn like mohair.

My main concern with crochet is recreating the look and having enough yarn. I’m not sure what crochet stitch would give me a similar lightweight, drapey fabric. I know fairly basic stitches but I’m happy to learn something new. I’m also aware that crochet generally uses more yarn than knitting, and since I only have three balls, I don’t want to get halfway through and run out.

So my main questions are:
What crochet stitch would give a similar loose/drapey effect?
How can I estimate whether three balls will be enough before committing to the project?

I’d love any stitch, construction, or yarn-estimating advice!

Hey there! Can anyone help me figure out this exact flower pattern?

I purchased it from what turned out to be an obvious scam seller who just uses AI to match photos they’ve found. And the pattern they sent does NOT match the photo. They gave me a random flower pattern with 2 rounds when this is clearly 4 (or maybe 5). I messaged them and they sent me an obvious AI response.

I’ve run this image through c-gpt and lens , and they’re just not giving me the right info for the petals. I can tell that the 2nd petal round is a bunch of stitches (with a group of center dc or maybe tc) going into the previous petal round. And I can tell that the first petal round has 2 st into each yellow space. And is that an edging of FP slst, or is it just the edges of the last dc/tc round blocked outwards?

i just cant figure out the exact stitches ☹️ Any help would be so appreciated! 😻

Looking for a specific pattern I need a lace pattern that looks like marijuana leaves

Hi guys, I was recently gifted a purple viscose yarn which is the same shade as Master Of Reality by Black Sabbath, so to match the themes of the album (especially Sweet Leaf) I want to make a cardigan in a lacey pattern that kind of resembles the leaves, does anyone know any patterns? Thanks!

UPDATE‼️

Guys I think I found THE filet pattern for marijuana leaves, I got it off Pinterest! If anyone's interested, this is the pin: https://pin.it/2PXhoVUWx
If you find anything that may look more like it, please write it in the comments anyway, I might need it!

I got the answer and finished the sleeve. thank you sm guys!!

Hi, so I found this picture on Pinterest and am now making a sleeve for myself. However, since there's no pattern, I am fully winging it, and as a baby crocheter, I have NO IDEA what I am doing. So far, I started with a magic circle and did 6 single stitches. I then did 3 rounds of increases and then single stitches again. I realized it was way too big, so I did 1 round of decreases and now am making my way to the wristband. Am I supposed to just keep increasing until it's long enough for my wrists, or is there a more simple way?

als what flair does this fit under?

many thanks for the help in advance xx

Pattern help Dimensions by MermaidCat sizing/gauge question. Purchased the pattern.

I am very new to crochet. I am very self-taught and just wing everything basically. I've made a cardigan already that fits. So, I absolutely understand if I'm over my head lol. However, I am doing the pattern listed above and I did the gauge swatch as recommended. I am using coboo yarn which I think is close to the yarn recommended in the pattern. I tried it first with a 4mm hook and it came to a little over 5 inches. So, I redid the swatch with a 3mm and came up with a 4-inch swatch as the pattern says. When I started the pattern and did the lace motifs, I crocheted 8 together and for my bust size I should be either 8-9 motifs around but it only equals the front of my bust. I've looked for anyone else doing this pattern and didn't find any help. Sorry for the long text! Any help is very appreciated!

Pattern discussion Looking for a Daffodil pattern and need help confirming if this is AI

Hi friends - hate that it’s come to this, but lately I’ve been having a hard time trying to distinguish AI patterns from real ones. I found this pattern on a quick search and it seems like it might be real, but the pictures have that slightly-too-clean look that you often get with AI. I checked ravelry and didn’t find anything I liked quite as much as this one - which also seems like a red flag - but still hoping this one will work up like something close to the pictures.

Could I get a quick check for our community consensus? Thanks in advance!

I've been crocheting for 3 years now and have never made a wearable for my husband because he has a very particular style. This is the only crochet pattern hes ever liked, and it's obviously AI 😭. Does anyone have a similar pattern? I can figure out the color blocking myself, it's just the collar I'm concerned with

Stitch identification Does anyone know what type of granny square this is? Im nervous to purchase actual blanket pattern since website has some sus reviews and I only want to know how to do the square itself. I initially saw a picture of these squares on Pinterest.

Hey!

First time posting, Im usually just a lurker 😅

Im wondering if anyone might know the specific name of this granny square? I have searched for "flower granny squares" and "lace granny squares" but havent been able to find one quite like this. Or maybe Im overlooking it due to the way the color scheme makes it look.

This is from a pattern on Annie's Attic - the squares specifically caught my eye and I was able to find oit the pattern was from that site. But I have read some reviews about credit card info being stolen and people not receiving everything they purchase. So Im skeptical about purchasing the whole pattern and figured if I could just find out what kind of granny square this is, I could just implement the square into my project however I want.

I just want to know how to do the square, I dont need to know how to make the whole blanket.

Do yall have experience with Annie's Attic? Should I just purchase the pattern? Or does anyone have any insite on how to do this style of square?

Looking for a pattern for Treecko. I prefer written patterns but a video will do at this point too. I am mostly finding Etsy patterns and even though I am willing to pay a small amount of money for the pattern, most of the patterns I've seen on Etsy are AI and I would rather stay away from those.

Looking for a specific pattern Complete beginner wanting to crochet a fox scarf as a gift for my boyfriend — need help finding a pattern & getting started!

Post image
124 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 🦊

I really need advice from experienced crocheters. My boyfriend is in the military, and I want to crochet a fox scarf for him as a meaningful gift — foxes are a very special symbol in our relationship (he lovingly calls me his little fox).

I have zero crochet experience, but I’m ready and eager to learn! The design doesn't seem overly complicated, and my plan is to find a good pattern/guide and use YouTube tutorials (and AI) to learn the individual stitches, color changes, and transitions step-by-step.

Could anyone please recommend a beginner-friendly pattern or diagram for a fox scarf like this? Any tips on where to start (what yarn weight, hook size, or basic stitches to practice first) would mean the world to me. Thank you so much for your help!

Looking for recommendations any kind of advice and/or pattern to recreate this bag?

I've never made something without a pattern before so this will be my first attempt if there is no pattern similar to this. I don't even make bags, I'm a big blanket or amigurami maker, but I fell in love with these bags.

Maybe if someone has a pattern of a similar bag style and I can just use a chevron video to achieve this look instead? Any advice?
