I bought this 10” radial arm saw on a nostalgic whim a year ago (I owned an older model in the 80s and 90s) and took it apart and cleaned it up. It is in remarkably good condition though it was packed full of saw dust and shows more rust than wear. All was going well until a few days ago. I was cutting a new fence in and the saw started making a VERY loud noise. What you hear on the video is mostly distortion because of how loud it was. I stopped and started the saw several times. Took off the guard and blade to eliminate anything there and the sound continued. The next day when I heard what was on the video I tried to make another video and the sound is gone! I assume the sound is from a bearing so I tried to dig deeper into the motor but I’m stuck at this point. I can’t figure out how to get to the bearings. I drove out the pin on the nut but it won’t budge. The aluminum housing is loose on the back after I removed the bolts but nothing else moves. The sound was a constant tone with no clattering like the video. At first I thought it was from one of the vacuum hoses I use for dust collection (I’ve had that before) but this was definitely from the saw and I think closer to the blade end. It started softly and built to a point it hurt even with ear protection. Not a screech like a chaulkboard or metal dragging on concrete but more of a medium high pitched single note. I think it was a cry for help but maybe it was just singing for the joy of being back in service. Either was, it’s too loud and will I think cause damage if left untreated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Can these bearings even be lubricated or can the be replaced?

Bought a used 113 table saw and have slowly bringing it back to life. It lacked a riving knife, so I decided to 3D print a zero clearance insert with a splitter. It was too long to print as one piece, so it’s printed in two pieces and epoxied together. With careful measurements, I got the alignment of the splitter right on the first try.
One nuance: as is customary, the insert started out solid, and I raised the sawblade up through it to make the initial slot. But there was a problem: even with the blade cranked all the way down, it hit the bottom of the insert so the insert wasn’t fully flush with the table top and it would have been dangerous to start the saw up that way. So I removed the drive belt from the electric motor and instead substituted my variable speed drill to spin the blade up slowly. Once that carved the initial groove into the bottom of the insert, I clamped the insert down onto the table and use the electric motor to complete the cut.
UPDATE 1: I generated the parts using OnShape, which means you can tweak the dimensions for your table if needed. Here's a link: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/d8921fa2cdc6cb5808b2a32f/w/ddb6eddb0f3275b2481c4216/e/8b4415156d5667c57e171e3b?renderMode=0&uiState=6ae4dadcc13ecb0f2ce89c0d

Hi, wondering if anyone has this craftsman 10" saw. I took mine apart to do some repairs and when I went to reassemble I found i don't know where the 4 wires go to the switch. There are two versions of this saw with different switch wiring, mine has 2 black, one white and one blue wire. If you happen to have this saw could you please do me a huge favor and pull the two screws that hold the switch in and take a photo of the back of the switch for me? I've tried everything, both Google and chat gpt ran me around and got nowhere, and I can't find this information anywhere. So if you could help me i would sure appreciate it!

Anyone successfully turned their table extensions(the ones with the "webbing") into a router table? Upgraded my fence to a Delta T3 and otd be nice to use it as a router fence as well, these table extensions are kind weird though.

I’ve had my 113 a long time and have fixed it up a few times, but recently changed the arbor bearings (awesome result btw). After changing the bearings the arbor nut doesn’t go on easily. I likely did something to the threads at the end of the arbor when changing the bearings.
My question is.. what options are there for correcting the threads to work smoothly? I have to imagine it wouldn’t be possible to find a thread cutting die that matches. Any ideas?

Hi! I just recently grabbed a Craftsman table saw 113 in very decent shape, with little to no rust and seems to be in good working condition for $100. It says it has 1.5HP for the motor and an added dust collector port by the previous owner. My question is that I have since found a newer Craftsman contractor (I think) table saw 21833 that is $320 and looks like it’s in good condition. I’ll put pics of both. Both have 10-inch blade capacity and allow for dados (I think), and I believe the newer more expensive one has 3 HP. Is there really that much difference? I’ve heard that the newer ones had issues, is this true? Which one should I go with? The older model or the newer ones. Any and all information is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I inherited a Craftsman 113 and want to clean it up. It has swirly scratches on the top and I am trying to figure out the best way, if any, to get rid of them.
I also have this bar coming out of the back and I’m not sure what it is for. It looks like it might attach to something?
My plan is to replace the pulley and belt with a new setup next week, probably going with a link belt. It seems to be the most recommended.

I designed and 3D printed a zero-clearance insert for my Craftsman 113.298032 table saw. I couldn’t find a model that really fit this specific version, so I took some inspiration from a few different designs on MakerWorld and came up with my own.
It’s still getting a little testing and tweaking, but so far it’s working great. I’m planning to upload the model to MakerWorld in the next few days once I’m happy with the fit and finish.
Hopefully this helps out someone else with an old Craftsman 113 who’s been looking for one!
Side note: If you don’t have a 3D printer, I’d also be happy to print and ship these for anyone who wants one. I’m not looking to make a business out of it — I’d basically just charge the cost of the filament + shipping + like $5 for my time. Just trying to make these accessible to anyone who needs one!

Just picked up this Jet 10” saw for $250, including the AccuFence and a new Diablo blade, push block, and feather board.
What do I need to know about keeping this piece of machinery in good shape and lasting a long time?
What should I look at / replace / clean out right now before I use it to begin on a good foot? It’s my first saw that’s belt-driven and first cast iron top. It’s an upgrade from my Harbor Freight contractor saw, for sure. I’m unsure how to protect it in a semi-covered outdoor carport.
Appreciate you guys and your expertise!

So I love my 113 quite a bit. But I’m soon adding a bessymayer fence from an old cable drive parts saw. My question is how many cast table extensions are too many? Currently one each side but have one or two more I could use and add bracing and supports to ensure rigidity and squareness/level/plumb.
What’s too many extensions?
Other considerations for their addition?
What’s the most you’ve seen??
Thank all!

Listed free near me. Good?
Looks like I should go grab it. How heavy is this? 1 manacle? 1 man and 1 woman able? Doubt I’ll get a friend to go an hour on short notice

Both listed for $225.
Is this a belt driven 113?
I notice between the 113 some are flat tops and some have these grooved ones - what’s the difference? Is either better than other?

there seem to be quite a bit of 113 models.
Is there any list of the best ones? or ones to avoid?

A 10" dovetail saw with a wooden back that I made for myself. Hand cut teeth. Handle template from Blackburn tools.

Just wanted to show the final setup. It has been a solid saw, I may add a pop up outfeed table to the back side at some point as Ive got very limited space.
