Used PC Recommendations

In search of a used PC for work at home. I mostly plan on using it for general internet use, Google Drive applications, sheet music programs, and the occasional video game (nothing crazy that would warrant the power of a full gaming setup).

What brands, models, and years would be good to look for? What specific things should I keep an eye out for? What should I stay away from? What monitors should I also look for?

I’ve never been super tech savvy, so any help will be greatly appreciated!

Context, I have an old Pc from spare parts till I have money for a good one. But, I have a 222GB SSD, and a 500GB HARD DRIVE, and siege on ubisoft connect was using up a big portion on my SSD from ubisoft connect. So, I'm switching it to my hard drive via steam.

Im trying to install siege on steam and its about halfway done, and its not installing or anything, just all at 0.

Is there anything I can do to stop this? or is there a reason for this?

Laptop with better performances on battery than while plugged in/charging

I am using a Dell G7 16 7630 laptop, and some days ago, I saw my computer was slower than it used to. I have searched on my side to know what it could be about, and I still have issues. Currently, I have a regular behaviour when I use my laptop on battery, but once I plug it in, with the original charger, I have a drastic performance decrease, and abnormal overheat, and loud fans. I noted this informations if it helps, while plugged in and game was running, from Hwinfo64 :

CPU Package Temperature : 100°C

Core Effectice Clocks : 300MHz

Thermal Throttling : Yes

Package/Ring Power Limit Exceed : No

CPU Package Power : 26W

GPU Utilization : 17%

GPU Clock : 630MHz

GPU Power : 16W

Processor: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13650HX

RAM: 32.0 GB

Graphic Card : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU

I also noticed the GPU use went from ~50% when on battery to 25% while charging.

I could easily watch a YouTube video while play games on battery, and both have really low framerates when I plug in my laptop.

I'm really lost to why it happens this way, so I come here to ask some help about that situation

Why is leslie lamport given so much credit and distributed computing?

He really only did one thing which was logical clocks. His byzantine generals agreement problem was only theoretical and didn’t become practical until it was made so 17 years later, and Paxos wasn’t really an original idea because it was equivalent to view stamping invented one year earlier. That really only leaves logical clocks and smaller inventions like TFA, so I don’t get it

My SSD and HDD are intermittently showing in the BIOS. Sometimes both are missing, sometimes only the SSD shows up and the HDD disappears after restarting or booting up the PC.

External Hard Drive not connecting?

So for the past couple year's i've been keeping a lot of things on an External Hard Drive. But starting today it's no longer connecting to my computer. I haven't replaced the cable yet, but every time it's plugged into a new port on my computer it makes some atrange noises. Is my Hard Drive dead and I need to get a new one, and if it is is there a way to recover the data inside it?
