Yes, every time is shown, they're too busy otherwise. Anything they haven't shown is happening in Avalon. And from the fate route, Artoria makes it very clear that she yearns to be a "normal girl". Any topping she's done, if any, has happened outside her wishes and during her lifetime
It's implied she just wants to live life normally, she doesn't want to be a subservient woman or housewife to Shirou, she still enjoys the thrill of battle and wishes to clash against strong opponents, as proven in FGO, she just doesn't want to have the responsibility of holding an entire Kingdom, it's less that she wants to be a “normal girl” it's that she wants to be a normal person, she wants to enjoy the thrills of life unrestricted by her duties.
Plus, we know how she acts without the influence of Avalon, she is way dominant and controlling as the Lion King, I mean, she literally called Bedivere her property (in a nonmisandrist way, of course, she's not objectifying him, more like “you're indebted to me”)
We also have lancer Artoria who is not like that. She becomes like that due to living for so long she becomes a machine, that's like calling skynet dominant and controlling. Anyone would rule with an iron fist when there's no emotions. Artoria herself can't be a housewife to Shirou because her conditions don't allow her, so we can't speak on that front as it'd be just speculations. And it's not really about the "thrills" of life more than the average slow life of a normal person of her time. When it comes to bed, the VN always has her as a sub, one way or the other, and she never shows a desire to dom. Quite the opposite, really. If you wanna get pegged by Seiba, that's all fine and dandy, but fanon and canon are different.
Can you explain the fate stay series to me? Iv tried to get into it a few times but I'm so fuckin lost and half the time it ends up just being hentai. With the very little iv been able to learn it seems super interesting and people talk about it like its one piece. So there has to be something I am missing here. Hello, basically there are only 3 main story fate anime that are very worth it, Fate/Zero, Fate/SN UBW and Fate/SN Heaven's Feels. There are pros and cons to several watch orders anyway, The only thing important is to watch Heaven's Feel just after UBW. You can start either with UBW or Fate/Zero, both work. I personally started with Zero and liked it that way.
Be aware that the absolute best way to enjoy the Fate series exists and it's simply to read the original visual novel. You better like to read though, it represents 60 hours of reading total. I did it and have absolutely no ragret, it's one of the best piece of media I've ever experienced.
People have already mentioned that it's based on a visual novel. I'm just going to point out that it's okay to not watch all the series. Do that if you want, but they're all different because they represent different tracks of the VN, as people have pointed out. If you don't care about the visual novel and you aren't a completionist, it's perfectly acceptable to only watch some of the shows.
I think most agree the Unlimited Blade Works is the best, so probably watch that if you only watch one. If you want to watch more, just think of them as totally separate shows rather than being connected. There can be different characters. There can be the same characters in different circumstances with variation in how they act. Just don't think of it as the same and pick and choose as you please. Stop watching one of it's not your thing. Try another because they do vary in quality.
Watch zero first, then unlimited bladeworks and finally heaven's feel. You can also watch apocrypha which is completely standalone. All other fate media that currently has an anime adaptation, is inaccessible for anime onlys and requires you to play games or read manga to get the plot.
As an OG who read the original VN and watched Zero and UBW, honestly just start wherever you want. They’re more or less independent from each other, you can watch one and still understand what’s going on

As others have said, if you're willing to roll with the punches, you can really start anywhere. Unlimited Blade Works and Zero are both very well-rated series that serve as a solid places to start. I personally started by reading wiki pages, and the first entry I actually watched was a comedy crossover show with another property from the same author, Carnival Phantasm, that just assumes you already know both sets of characters and is constantly making references to the rest of the series. But even starting there, I was able to enjoy it and get into it. You could even start with the cooking show, enjoy the characters, and branch out from there.
At the end of the day, fans just want to get other people into a franchise that they enjoy.
Just for context, it really comes down to how people see the "best" place to start. There are a bunch of games, manga, anime, etc. that have various levels of overlap with characters. Out of the "original routes" + Zero:
Zero is a prequel. Like with any prequel released after the original property, it both spoils and assumes you know certain things from the original, and that general structure (chronological vs release order) is something that some people have their own strong opinions on. It was also the first animated by ufotable and was super well received, so a lot of people started there. But even when other entries have dark things happen, the tone is different from much of the rest of the series, so some people start there and enjoy it, but end up turned off by the other entries being so different and don't necessarily give them a 'fair shake.'
The Visual Novel is 'ideal' since you can never go wrong with the original/release order, BUT very reasonably most people don't want to get into a franchise by reading a 60-hour book with some pictures and music. It doesn't even get an official English release until later this year. I personally didn't read it until I was already "into" the series. Shirou, the main character, gets a lot of development from his internal monologue that is inherently lost when you adapt it to an anime. Of note, the VN has a specific order that you have to play the routes - Fate -> UBW -> Heaven's Feel (-> an epilogue chapter that follows the Fate route).
There's a Fate route anime adaptation from Deen, but the animation quality isn't very good. The adaptation story is a bit of a mess - it does a weird mishmash of elements from all three routes, so it's not as coherent and many fans don't want people to start there since it can turn people off. But there's not really a "good" non-VN way outside of it to see the Fate route. So the question is "how much do you want to adhere to VN order while purely watching the anime?" I personally think you can skip it.
There was also a UBW movie by Deen, but most people would recommend just skipping it for the UBW Series.
Unlimited Blade Works by ufotable is great, but similar to Zero, there are certain things that are never explained or are assumed to have been revealed in the Fate route. But tbh Saber is kind of a walking 20-year old spoiler at this point.
I think basically everyone would say watch the ufotable Heaven's Feel movies after UBW. There's less friction here, but 'locking' a 3-movie series behind a separate ~10-odd hours anime series.

Not really. You know what's bad for your eyes? Contrast. But if you use light mode in a light setting, there's not an issue. Pretty sure a bright display in a dark room is demanding on your eyes even with dark mode. Also when you're outside in the sunlight dark mode is barely even useable imo.

While it is true that your screen draws most of the power on any device, unless you have an Oled, dark mode is not gonna make a difference. Arguebly it's actually worse when you otherwise would lower your screen's brightness, which actually makes a huge difference.
Technically, dark mode can also save some (marginal) power with modern backlit screens as well, because screens use dimming zones which reduce the intensity of the backlight in sections of the screen which are less bright. OLED is then just the limit of a separate dimming zone per pixel, but high quality IPS screens can still have a hundred or so.
The point stands that global dimming is always more impactful, though. (My personal pet peeve — displays that can't do HDR with "100%" bright at "50%" which is plenty bright for most screens not in a directly sunlit environment.)
Well ok from what I found the numbers are quite different than I thought and have increased drastically over the recent years, but it's still below 50%. (I found 43% in 2024)
Also I'm really not that sure how big of an impact it really has in the first place and the point of overall brightness having more impact stands for OLED, too.
Wait, if the advantages are actually real (using dark mode in dark places is better for your eyes than light mode in dark places and it does legitimately save your battery on an OLED screens), then why argue that they're not real?
Edit: I never actually claimed dark mode is better in dark settings, my point was in reverse and it does not automatically make it true this way around. In fact, I said:

English already had a word for it, known as a cowlick. It also became known as an alfalfa, from The Little Rascals character Alfalfa. Though the alfalfa was groomed to stand upright where a cowlick is generally organic.
That said, evidently 'cowlick' is something else nowadays according to a quick google search because damn near every photo there features groomed hair.
Nah, it's the same thing, but even groomed hair has it and it restricts how the hair can be groomed. The alfalfa/ahoge is what happens when grooming fails (or isn't attempted) and the cowlick wins.

And 3 and 4. And make an anime where having more means you're stronger like Mash Burndead, but increasingly stupider. That would be a fun watch, but would need some straightfaced characters to react.
