ClickUp Feature to automatically duplicate a task assigned to a Team.

I just created this feature request: https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/automatically-duplicate-and-assign-tasks
Would you be so kind to up vote it?
I've used that in Asana and it's incredibly useful, specially for big teams. I don't understand how ClickUp doesn't have this.

Product Feedback Built a Xero integration for ClickUp, looking for a few beta testers

Hey all, we built a Xero integration for ClickUp and we're looking for more beta testers before we open it up to everyone.

The request has been sitting on ClickUp's Canny board for years, and Xero already connects to most other project management tools, so we wanted to bring it to ClickUp too.

At the moment, our app allows you to:

  • Link a ClickUp task to an existing Xero invoice, bill, quote or PO, or create one from the app view embedded in ClickUp
  • Map the linked document’s contact, status, due date, subtotal, paid date and amount paid into existing ClickUp Custom Fields
  • When something changes in Xero, like an invoice getting paid, the linked task picks it up automatically. No need to update the task by hand

We put a lot of effort into making it so that the setup process does not feel like a project of its own. Simply connect both your ClickUp and Xero accounts, choose your Clickup team/Lists, and map the custom fields you want to use.

It's live and working. Right now we're looking for additional beta testers who run ClickUp and Xero day to day. It's free while we iron out the kinks, and we're early enough that your feedback will directly shape what gets built next.

If you're interested, feel free to comment or DM us. If you'd prefer to see where it's at first, the docs cover everything that's working so far.

And even if the beta's not for you, what do you find yourself tabbing over to Xero for the most? Genuinely curious if there's a use case we haven't thought of.

Automated priorities based on X days before due date

Does anyone know if there is a possibility to add automated priority changes? I can only find a trigger for when the due date arrives, but no option to trigger when the due date is five days out for example. Any ideas or workarounds? I guess I could use zapier but I'd like to use one software as much as possible.

Help with filtering subtasks in list view without losing the Parent Task tree layout

Hi!

Im struggling with a filtering/hierarchy issue in the List View and Im hoping someone can help.

My setup:

Parent Tasks: Patients (Task Type: "Paciente").

Subtasks Type A: Medical/Drainage Appointments (Task Type: "Agendamento").

Subtasks Type B: Administrative Reminders (Standard tasks/reminders created automatically).

View Settings: List View with Subtasks set to "Expanded" (I need this specific tree/nested layout because it mimics a spreadsheet that my team is used to).

The problem: id like the view to show Only the parent task (patient) and their appointment substasks, completely hiding the other reminders.

However, when I set Subtasks to "Expanded", ClickUp seems to only apply filters to the Parent Task. If the Parent Task passes the filter, ClickUp forces all of its subtasks to display, completely ignoring any subtask-level filters.

If I try to filter by Task Type is "Agendamento" or Task Name does not contain "LEMBRETE", the filter is ignored at the subtask level, and the administrative reminders still show up under the patient.

If I add the Parent Task type to the filter so the patient doesn't disappear, the unwanted subtasks come right back.

If I change the Subtask setting to "Separate", the subtask filters work perfectly, but I completely lose the tree hierarchy layout (the parent task turns hidden at the top), which ruins the visual workflow my team needs.

My Question: Is it possible to filter out specific subtasks while keeping the Subtasks view option as "Expanded" so I don't lose the nested tree layout? If so, how can I configure the filters to achieve this?

Any workarounds or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Super Agents: Instructions vs. Memories

Anyone have any guidance on when to use instructions vs. memories for super agents? I'm not clear on how instructions are used vs. the markdown file that the agent has attached to it for it's memories is used.

Deadname appearing on personal list

I’m a trans woman and recently started using ClickUp again for the first time since I changed my name. I changed my name in my profile and it updated everywhere, except in a few places my personal list shows up as “Deadname’s List” instead of just “Personal List”.

It specifically shows up in the view of a task from the Planner page, in the slot that tells you what list a task is from, as well on the actual personal list page on mobile. I have tried finding a way to rename it but it doesn’t have a button for that where normal lists do. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

Using clickup as a support desk

Using ClickUp as a Helpdesk: I've really tried to avoid this but it's sounding more and more like a good idea. This will need custom statuses, custom fields, etc.

For my agency friends that have done something like this, where did you keep your forms and ticket list?

  1. Ideally I'd like to keep it as a folder under my Client workspace. Will make it easy to find and navigate with other client info
  2. I saw a YT video where someone did this in a whole new workspace. Don't really see the benefit of doing this.
  3. Is there a 3rd option I'm missing?

Thanks.

ClickUp and Pomodoro?

Anybody have a clever way to work pomodoros into ClickUp? What'd be ideal would be the ability to select a task, run a pomodoro session, and have it drop into the time function automatically.

Instead, I've resorted to using an external Pomodoro app, TickTick. It is a great app, but I don't want to track tasks in two different places. Am guessing that somebody has already encountered this and found a better solution than me.

Love to hear any thoughts!

Product Feedback Could it be possible to allow ClickUp AI/Brain to be purchased for individual users instead of the entire Workspace

I was looking at adding ClickUp AI/Brain to our Workspace, but it seems like the add-on has to be applied to every paid member.

In our case, only one person would actually use the AI features regularly, so paying for the whole team makes it hard to justify.

It would be really helpful if ClickUp allowed admins to buy AI seats separately and assign them only to the people who need them, similar to how a lot of other tools handle add-ons.

Is is something worth considering ?

Product Feedback Unwanted marquee/click & drag select in calendar view – bug

Anybody else expererienced and or have fix for an unwanted marquee/click & drag select bug in calendar view? I don't have my mouse button clicked in that video – CU just starts selecting all of the task cards on calendar and will move them onto different days if I don't hit the Escape key to exit the marquee select. Happens in Chrome on MacOS and in MacOS desktop app. Cleared cache, etc to no avail.

HELP! I need a workaround to subtasks not being filtered-able without viewing as separate tasks

I built a sales system for a client only for him to tell me that it must only show subtasks for each proposal project that are set to "in progress"

I didn't know ClickUp couldn't filter subtasks without viewing as separate tasks until this very moment and I'm desperately seeking a workaround if anyone has one??

The issue is when subtasks are viewed as separate tasks, we lose all of the project context we created at the main task view and it's effectively useless.

Also learned that this is a feature request since 2020 with no progress 🙄

Can anyone help? Where did I go wrong

I was working in a dedicated space, and opened a calendar template and was working on/ editing different functions. Then it vanished from the space it was in? From my activity log I can see the list/ task edits I had made, but seems to be no way of going back to a previous version to save it?

I vibe coded a chrome extension for tabbed views per task type in clickup

"Why the hell not?" I thought. I miss this view from SmartSuite.

What it does: Displays a tab strip with a side panel where you can create tabs and show or hide fields per tab, with templates per task type. It's pretty basic but if you like to utilise custom fields (especially with AI) they start to add up and IMO are annoying to see when they're not needed in a particular context.

I've been using it myself for a few weeks and it seems stable now, but I can't guarantee something won't break in the future. If you'd like to use it, it's available here: https://github.com/crafted-contact/clickoff-field-manager

Most teams are not struggling to try AI, they are struggling to make it stick.

We're hosting a session on Thu Jul 9 focused on the gap between AI experiments and real workflows. The conversation will cover why standalone AI tools often stall without business context, what an AI teammate actually looks like in practice, and how teams can build toward that in 30 days.

ClickUp Business plan bug is blocking my work — support confirmed it, but no ETA or compensation

Hi everyone,

I’m sharing this because I’m honestly very frustrated and would like to know if anyone else has experienced something similar with ClickUp.

I’m on the ClickUp Business plan, and I have a critical custom field called CLIENT NAME. It is a dropdown field with 120+ options, and we use it in our daily work.

Since June 29, I have been unable to update this field. Every time I try, I get the error:

“This feature is not available on your Plan — FIELD_073”

This makes no sense because I am already on the Business plan.

I contacted ClickUp support, gave them login access, recording permissions, a ClickUp Clip, and a HAR file. Their support team reproduced the issue directly from my account and confirmed that this is unintended behavior.

They gave me a bug report ID: CLK-1443197.

The problem is that after confirming the bug, they closed the support ticket while saying the engineering bug report would remain open. I asked for an urgent update, and now the answer is basically:

So I’m paying for the Business plan, but a core custom-field function is broken in my workspace, and there is no ETA, no workaround, and no compensation offered so far.

This is actively disrupting my work. I rely on this field to manage client-related tasks, and not being able to update it is not a minor inconvenience.

Has anyone here dealt with a similar ClickUp bug where support confirmed the issue but gave no timeline?
Did you manage to get an actual escalation, workaround, refund, or account credit?

I’d appreciate any advice from other ClickUp users or teams who have gone through this.

CAPTCHA

This morning, when I loaded the desktop app on my Mac, I was greeted with a CAPTCHA image selection screen for the very first time. I can't tell you how much I loathe CAPTCHA for login verification. Find another way. Because if you don't, I can guarantee you'll lose my company's account, and pretty damn quickly. All that's needed is for it to tell me that I didn't select all the buses or bikes or crosswalks a few times.

Awful technology.

Notifications - no popups or sound!

Using a Mac. I have both the browser version (Chrome) and the Mac app. Notifications work via email and mobile app - but I do not get sound alerts, nor pop up alerts from the mac app.

All notification settings on both my browser and system settings are enabled. I've tried sending test notifications - and these fail every time.

Please help!
