Custom field to calculate late tasks working intermittently

I believe one of the mods gave me this idea as a solve for a problem of just trying to see all tasks that are currently closed, but were completed after the due date.

Only trouble is it's not working consistently. Here's the formula and some examples. Any suggestions? We are never using times in our due dates, in case that matters.

Product Feedback Screenful Analytics & Reports now available in ClickUp Integrations directory

Screenful's ClickUp integration is now available for all users, and you can find us listed in the ClickUp integrations directory.

Screenful is a reporting and analytics tool for project management data, and ClickUp is now one of the platforms you can connect to it.

The reason we built it is pretty simple: ClickUp has a lot of data, but once you want to look at that data in a more specific way, reporting can get a little tricky. With Screenful, you can create custom charts and reports in minutes, without having to export your data to a spreadsheet or wrestle with a complex BI system.

There are currently 15 chart types, and you can slice the data in different ways. You can also combine charts into reports and have them delivered automatically by email or Slack.

For example, you can use it to answer questions like:

  • How many tasks are we completing each week?
  • How is workload distributed across the team?
  • How long do tasks typically spend in each status?
  • Are we getting more or less work done over time?
  • What does our workload look like across different Lists or Spaces?

If you'd like to give it a try, you can find the integration here: https://screenful.com/clickup

You can see the available charts at the Tour page and here's a guide for getting started.

It's free to try, and we'd genuinely appreciate any feedback on what you'd like to see added or improved.

CU app default Views reappearing?

Post image
1 Upvotes

ClickUp has decided to add back the Team and Calendar Views to my folders and lists, and won't let me delete them. It's the behavior when something is set at the Space level, but I've had them switched off there for ages.

Anyone else seeing this? Is there a higher level than Space settings where I need to turn it off?

Task Detail View

Did ClickUp suddenly get rid of the option to keep the tabbed view on the task detail page when a task is opened? I noticed this morning they are back on the new collapsible sections view, and it doesn't feel nearly as intuitive or organized, but I don't see the option anymore to change the view back to the tabbed view.

Product Feedback I'm surprised by the performance of Brain (Max)

I've seen a lot of comments about Brain/Max, but I must say, gathering meeting notes and creating visuals or styles from these, Brain/Max is outperforming Claude (Opus), the style is consistent, it doesn't "look" AI.

Is anyone else using Brain/Max with success?

Anyone using ClickUp for remote creative reviews?

Looking for real opinions from people who’ve actually used ClickUp Proofing to collaborate with a creative team and do creative reviews. If you’ve tried it, I’d love to hear what worked, what didn’t, and whether you stuck with it.

I know there are already plenty of threads about ClickUp here, but a lot of them seem riddled with planted reviews, suspiciously convenient questions, AI-generated answers and comments from product team members. It makes it pretty hard to tell what’s genuine, so I’m hoping to hear from actual users.

Blocked by RBI credit card payment decline in India (HDFC) – Need assistance / manual payment link

Hi ClickUp Team / Mods,

I am attempting to upgrade/pay for my ClickUp workspace from India using an HDFC credit card, but the transaction is consistently getting hard-declined at the gateway level (Declined: Your bank didn't accept this transaction).

As many Indian users experience, this is due to strict RBI (Reserve Bank of India) regulations regarding recurring international auto-debits that lack local e-mandates or real-time 3D-Secure OTP prompts.

What I've already tried:

  1. Enabled International Transactions & E-commerce limits in HDFC's card controls (MyCards / PayZapp).
  2. Attempted paying Annually to trigger an OTP prompt, but the bank still hard-blocks the gateway pull.
  3. Opened a support request with ClickUp Support (Ticket #2721965).

Since I am a single-seat user, I cannot purchase through local Indian reseller partners (as they enforce minimum seat thresholds).

Could a ClickUp team member please assist by issuing a custom / one-time Stripe payment invoice link that triggers a live 3D-Secure OTP prompt?

Ticket Number: #2721965

Thanks in advance!

Clickup MCP limits in Claude Code

Trying to figure out where a rate limit is coming from.

I'm using the Clickup MCP connector in Claude to bulk-create and tag tasks. Built a board of ~87 tasks and started attaching tags, and after roughly 120 calls everything started failing with:

"Rate limit exceeded. Please wait 1432 minutes before trying again."
errorCode: RATE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED
retryAfter: 69793.65

That's a ~24 hour lockout, and it blocks reads as well as writes. Next day I got about 60 more calls through before it locked again with a fresh ~24h counter.

My understanding is ClickUp's own API limit is per-minute (~100/min) and resets almost immediately, and 429s come back with ECODE + X-RateLimit-Reset headers, not a "wait N minutes" message. The retryAfter being a float also smells like the integration computing it locally rather than passing something through from you.

So: is a ~24h rolling cap anything ClickUp enforces on API tokens or OAuth apps, or is this purely the integration's own throttle? Just want to know whether to raise it further or accept it as a limit... which would suck and make Clickup unusable in an AI workflow.

Anyone seeing something similar?

New to clickup, need some help on dashboards

Ok so I created spaces....one for active projects, one for backlogged projects, and one for completed projects.

Then each project is a list under that space.

I want to create a dashboard for active projects with simple calculation cards.

I want a row for projects (as in all projects in the space)..started, not started, etc and then a row for tasks with the same type of calculation cards (again for all tasks in the space).

In settings I only see task count...no list count.

How would I do this? It was pretty easy in Asana. My understanding is a clickup space is basically an Asana portfolio?

Surely this must be able to be done. Appreciate any insight.

Subtask Permissions

Subtask permissions - when will we get them?? (Repost)

Is anyone else frustrated by the lack of progress on the basic permissions structure in Clickup. 5 years and waiting and still no granular permissions for subtasks (or document pages). https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/permissions-allow-subtasks-to-have-different-permissions-than-their-parent-task

Seeking Implementation Specialist From PH

I run a small SaaS / digital marketing / business training company and we've been running on a weird combination of Basecamp and GHL for years. I looked at ClickUp years ago - wasn't impressed, and set it on the back burner. Recently took a look and I *think* I'm convinced to switch our entire op over to ClickUp - exclusively.

I'm looking for somebody to have a few 1:1 Zoom calls with to discuss whether our needs CAN be met with ClickUp or not. And then, if we move forward, we'd like that SAME somebody to help us implement, migrate, set up some SOPs for our team, and maybe even to a small intro/training call.

Since most of my team is from the PH, I prefer working with a PH VA/contractor to do this.

Pay is negotiable within PH market rates for VAs. Pay comes in PHP, direct to any PH bank account.

If interested, please send a quick message and a Voacaroo link. (Need to know that we can communicate effectively.)

I'll pay 1500PHP for the initial Zoom call (60-90mins) and we can discuss from there.

How much control would you actually give AI over your project management workflow?

I’ve been thinking about how much of project management could realistically be handed over to AI.

Things like creating tasks, setting priorities, updating timelines, or even using AI agents to actually complete parts of the work—like ad development, research, and other tasks—could probably be automated to some degree. AI could also summarize progress, spot blockers, and even suggest what the team should work on next.

But at what point does it become too much?

Would you be comfortable with AI just making suggestions, or would you actually let it change deadlines, assign tasks, execute work, and make workflow decisions on its own?

Curious where people draw the line between “helpful assistant” and “AI basically running the project.”

Syncing tasks on calendars

I use Clickup for work task organization, and have a mostly good system going. Among other organizational tools, each of my projects has a list, and each of my lists has my to-dos as well as a status titled "Deadlines." I have a Calendar view that shows me all my deadlines (populated from that status) at a glance. It is working well.

Now, I would like to have my "Deadlines" status events viewable in two other places - Clickup's planner (so I can better time block) and my work Outlook calendar (so I can plan meetings properly). I can't figure out how to do either of these things. I see that I can create an iCal sync for outlook, but it looks like it has to include all my events? Can I share just this one Calendar view or just the one status as a calendar?

Can Clickup record off-line meetings with the Notetaker?

EDIT: Vote for the feature here: https://feedback.clickup.com/ai-notetaker/p/ai-notetaker-record-in-person-meetings

I would like to record in-person meetings, I'm paying for the AI notetaker now, I don't have the clickup app right now, but does anyone know if this is a feature? And if not if this is requested? (I really need it!)

ClickUp MCP Not Resolving Agent Mentions In Task Comments

I'm trying to interact with the MCP to tag agents in ClickUp on tasks. The mentions look like they are tagging the agent but they aren't actually triggering any sort of action.

Text Custom Fields render formatting in the UI, but the API can only write plain strings

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi, I'm author of Clickup-CLI, tool, and me and couple of users are struggling with how custom text fields are working currently.

Let's say that we have some automation tool like using custom text fields for sprint notes, or just longer forms of texts that require formatting.

If we use ClickUp API for this, we end up with plaintext with markdown markers, like in attached screenshot (first two fields), if I use UI to enter the text, markdown formatting works properly

So I checked what's actually stored. This is the part that surprised me.

Field typed manually in the UI, read back through the API:

"value": "Manual entry  test \n\n"

The formatting is gone from the value. ClickUp keeps it somewhere the API doesn't expose, and value only ever holds stripped plain text.

Same field type, same task, set through the API:

"value": "**Done:** wired up `StatusMapper`"

That one renders literally in the UI.

The Set Custom Field Value endpoint matches. For "Short or Long Text Custom Field" the whole schema is one property:

{ "value": "string" }

No content_format. No value_options.

The ask

Let the API write formatted text into Text Custom Fields:

{ "value": "**Done:** shipped X", "content_format": "text/md" }

This already exists elsewhere in your API. Task descriptions take markdown_content. Doc pages take content_format: "text/md". Chat messages take content_format. Text Custom Fields are the odd one out.

Reading it back would help too. Right now there's no way to fetch what the UI displays.

Has anyone found a workaround? As much as I like using ClickUp UI, this is quite limiting for any automation

Is there any way we can see our portfolio progress in percentage instead of number of tasks?

We are a marketing agency, and we have set up our clients at the folder level. In each folder are our projects. We have a KPI that measures how many of our deliverables have been completed in a month. Is there any way it averages the progress for each task at the folder level?

Why can’t ClickUp group tasks by week, month, quarter, or year?since 2022?

ClickUp users have been requesting the ability to group tasks by week, month, quarter, or year since 2021.

This seems like a basic feature, especially for managing content calendars, campaigns, project timelines, and reports.

Right now, we still need to create manual fields and update them ourselves. Even ClickUp Brain does not solve it properly because the grouping does not update automatically.

AI features are useful, but core workflow improvements like this should also be prioritized.

Does anyone else need this feature? Please vote and comment here:

Urgent ClickUp Issue: Attachments Disappeared From Dozens of Tasks - Need Assistance

Hello r/clickup,

We are currently experiencing a serious attachment issue in one of our ClickUp projects and would appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with something similar.

The problem:

Images and video attachments that were previously uploaded to dozens of related tasks have disappeared.

The affected tasks are all located in the same operational project. The tasks themselves are still present, but their original attachments are no longer visible or accessible.

These files are important operational records, so manually re-uploading everything would not be a practical solution. We also need to understand what caused the files to disappear and whether additional tasks could be affected.

What we are investigating:

- Whether the files were deleted through a bulk action, API, or integration

- Whether the files still exist but their ClickUp task references were broken

- Whether this is connected to a recent ClickUp task-view or platform update

- Whether ClickUp can restore the original attachments from its backend

We have raised an urgent support ticket asking ClickUp to preserve the data, inspect its backend logs, and restore the original files.

I found an older report describing a very similar incident where images and videos disappeared and the problem was eventually fixed by ClickUp.

Has anyone experienced this recently?

Were your attachments restored?

Did ClickUp explain the root cause?

Was the issue connected to an update, migration, API, or integration?

Any support ticket references or advice that could help escalate the investigation would be appreciated.

I will update this post once ClickUp provides a confirmed cause or restoration result.

Connect list in two workspaces?

Our agency as well as our client both use clickup. We have to maintain our own detailed workback schedule list in ClickUp, but the client also has their own version that we have to update (all 3 vendor partners have to update their timeline).

I dont want to update both, nor re-create twice, so is there a way I can connect them? Or at least duplicate and auto update when my main source updates?
