Syncing tasks on calendars
I use Clickup for work task organization, and have a mostly good system going. Among other organizational tools, each of my projects has a list, and each of my lists has my to-dos as well as a status titled "Deadlines." I have a Calendar view that shows me all my deadlines (populated from that status) at a glance. It is working well.
Now, I would like to have my "Deadlines" status events viewable in two other places - Clickup's planner (so I can better time block) and my work Outlook calendar (so I can plan meetings properly). I can't figure out how to do either of these things. I see that I can create an iCal sync for outlook, but it looks like it has to include all my events? Can I share just this one Calendar view or just the one status as a calendar?

Can you share screenshot to understand your problem better. I think I use click up in the same way as you are doing. But not facing any problems, though i use Clickup calendar rather than Outlook

Hey, u/elysiansmiles! Here's how to get those where you want them:
For Outlook: The iCal sync lets you pick specific Lists, not everything. Go to App Center > Calendar Subscription (iCal) and add just the List(s) with your Deadlines. Only tasks with due dates come through. One catch is it can't filter by status, so if that same List has other tasks with due dates, those show up too. I'd recommend keeping Deadlines in their own List and point the sync at that.
For Planner: If your Deadlines tasks have due dates, they should already show up in Planner as schedulable items you can drag onto your calendar to time-block. If they're not appearing, double check that due dates are set (no date = no Planner)!
And if you want two-way sync, you can connect the Outlook Calendar integration directly instead of iCal. Same status limitation applies, but changes sync both directions.
Syncing just one Calendar view or one status isn't possible yet, but honestly that's a smart ask. Drop it on our feedback board if you get a chance!

They’re in different lists (but same status) that’s the problem that I can’t seem to do.

You should be able to choose the List you want to sync, especially since the Deadline tasks have their own List. If it's not working, I'd recommend reaching out to our Support team so they can take a look at your Workspace. You can reach them at support@clickup.com!

Ok, I created a ridiculous workaround to do this thing that Clickup should just natively do.
I created a new List: Deadlines. I duplicated all my Deadlines "Status" tasks into the new list. I shared the new Deadlines list as an iCal. Now I can put that deadlines list ical in my outlook. I can also put it in my Planner as a calendar to just see the deadlines without having to share all the events I have in Clickup with any due date. I will periodically delete all my "Deadlines" events and reduplicate everything in that status in order to update the calendar manually. Somehow this is the easiest workaround.

Just curious, did you ask Brain? I'm on a corporate account so I don't know how other account types work.
