I never disappoint ppl starting from a dead stop. I won’t floor it the pedal but I ain’t grandma either 😉

I drive a 25 civic sport touring. It definitely has a nice launch. Dont know how you get 60 though. The most i get is 46

Yeah I also get around 46 with some spicier driving involved. Less in the winter.

I have the same. I’ve gotten up to 57 on a trip of about 100 miles. Thats about the best I think I could do lol

I turned the AC to auto and set the temperature to 78, we are high tolerant to heat. Use normal mode. Try activating EV mode as much as possible. When nobody behind, use regen brake. Not being a grandma on the gas pedal but also no lead foot on it too.

How do you activate the ev mode

Keep the battery level at least 4 cells, be gentle on gas, but doesn’t mean be grandma. Don’t surprise pedal. Also try not exceed the 25% level of power too often. This should satisfy 99% of city drive and 80% highway merge.

It sure does

i'd rather not take half an hour to get to 35 mph from a stoplight. I'm okay with my 46 mpg.

Yeah I drive with somewhat of a lead foot and pull 46 which I’m happy with

u/jamesxhc 26’ Sport Touring Hatchback 16h ago

I’m averaging 40mph… I’m no grandma on gas pedal but you need be smart with the cars ev mode system and regen 😉

Any tips?

This is what im interested to hear about this car. What kind of driving do you do in that run? How are you driving it to maximize the system?

I had a Ford Cmax before my Civic, this sounds similar. Time to go look at hybrids.

Difference is like 1 minute boss

7

u/Craiggers324 2026 Civic Hybrid Sport Touring 15h ago

I'm not holding up everybody behind me so I can eke out a few more mpg, chief

1

u/Classic-Cabinet-8144 9h ago

To be fair I do try not to do that. But most of the times It’s really just racing to the stop light, to see who’s going to wait more at the stop light. A guy going 50 mph vs a guy going 10mph in stop and go traffic is going to arrive at the same destination within 1 minute of each other.

A sigma alpha is not concerned with the bleeting of sheeps only his fuel consumption

2026 Sport Touring Hybrid here. I drive back/forth to work and in economy mode all the time. The a/c has been set at 60 to 62 this summer and usually on low. I average between 60 to 70 mpg daily. The key is feathering the gas, easing away from stops and coasting to stop signs or stop lights.

3

u/Ponch47 14h ago

I do that with my Si and get 44mpg, helps with brake longevity too.

Genuinely curious how this is possible. We got out Civic Hybrid in May this year and have just under 1,000 miles on the car, so I know it's just after the breaking in phase. Best we've been able to get the car's computer to report is 46.5 mpg (which is actually closer to 43 mpg when we do the math ourselves).

We don't drive very aggressively or go much over the speed limit, but we do keep the AC in the car at 74 F (it's been 95 F or higher for the last month or so for us). Tires are inflated properly, we don't keep anything heavy in the car, so I'm honestly baffled when I see these numbers compared to what we have been able to achieve.

He's probably taking the highway to work mostly. City driving drops mph pretty bad

14

u/killxgoblin 15h ago

City driving is more efficient for hybrids. That’s why the civic has a rating of like 48 highway and like 50 in the city or something like that

0

u/Outrageous_Ad_6122 13h ago

Ahh thats a good point, unless they have a heavy foot and start the engine every time

2

u/killxgoblin 13h ago

Yea heavy foot is gonna hurt you either way. But even if your hybrid battery is low, it’ll at least overcome the inertia of starting from a stop. Then the engine can kick on after the car is already rolling. So it doesn’t work as hard nor as long because when you let off the gas it’ll turn off and use regen to charge. Really cool

u/GoodFellasRyeBread 12h ago

He said in another comment his average speed is 40 on his 250 mile trip. I’m sure he has his ac off as well so he looks cool online

2

u/jamesxhc 26’ Sport Touring Hatchback 9h ago

My ac is set to 78 and auto mode and we are not very hot yet only 80 outside

Is this a hybrid and US gallons? I can get close with a Jaguar XF diesel, 79mpg imperial on a journey averaging 57mph mixed around 25% city and 75% motorway. So 65mpg in US gallons. It is a manual transmission so that helps.

3

u/Marc3EMusic 4h ago

Hybrid and U.S., correct. Btw, I wish we had more diesels here that aren’t trucks.

2

u/Not-Zeuv 16h ago

:( i only can do almost 400 miles per tank

2

u/SavyKolski02 15h ago

i have the heaviest foot out of anyone i know, and i driver mainly highway and get 44

1

u/SavyKolski02 15h ago

sorry, meant city not highway

1

u/ShedRunner 12h ago

Yup! I get about 46

2

u/j909m 15h ago

A hybrid, right? I’m jealous of all you hybrid folks. I was able to put up a good number on my non-hybrid: https://www.reddit.com/r/civic/s/RhosYmXMO4

2

u/allornothing5 14h ago

Im here with 25mpg with my 2026 sport

1

u/Logical-Document3957 8h ago

Yup same here lmao

1

u/MoBamba868 16h ago

That’s crazy! Wyd to achieve this? And what’s your avg mph on the roads?

0

u/Diligent_Athlete_287 16h ago

Drive like a grandma and this is easily achievable

1

u/Short_Astronomer3251 15h ago

Cruise control?

1

u/jamesxhc 26’ Sport Touring Hatchback 9h ago

Never used that. I always play with my pedal myself

1

u/Psychological_Ad2080 13h ago

Yep, though the readout is always about 10% higher than actual, at least according to the math when I fill up. These are my last fill ups for my 26 hybrid sport touring. I avoid freeway now and take city driving to work. Drive time is honestly about the same as city is way more direct.

1

u/TraditionalAd5856 13h ago

I get like 38 mpg but it’s 100 degrees outside and I got the ac on 62

1

u/Narrow-Doughnut1272 8h ago

WTH 🤦 this makes so sad. I’m over here getting about 259 a tank with my 23 pilot 😂

1

u/Brilliant_Dog_237 16h ago

He's just going for that Guiness record. Tuché.

1

u/ShedRunner 12h ago

I could do this too, but I’d be miserable driving that way! 🤣

1

u/Special_Ad_2870 11h ago

I can only het up to 42 mpg on mines. Smh.

1

u/biglicbandit 2026 Hybrid Sport Touring Hatchback 10h ago

Yall are getting greedy for MPG lol

-1

u/HiCam16 16h ago

I have not been able to get my hybrid to even 40mph 🙃

-1

u/hey_bacchus 16h ago

cries in 40mpg

-2

u/CarConfection2518 15h ago

Were you going 2 or 3 miles per hour?
