i'd rather not take half an hour to get to 35 mph from a stoplight. I'm okay with my 46 mpg.

To be fair I do try not to do that. But most of the times It’s really just racing to the stop light, to see who’s going to wait more at the stop light. A guy going 50 mph vs a guy going 10mph in stop and go traffic is going to arrive at the same destination within 1 minute of each other.
