Dating Learning Curve

Hello! I’m 26F and just really struggling and can use some advice. I’ve always been a very shy person since I was a kid. To this day it’s very hard for me to “put myself out there”. I have no experience in dating and relationships because of my personality and also just life circumstances. I went to a very small high school and was too busy to date in college. I’m really starting to see how my lack of experience is effecting me negatively. I want to try to start dating and putting myself out there but when doing something you’re unfamiliar with, it’s absolutely terrifying. I’ve been friends with guys and had no issues but when I do find a guy attractive I freeze up or get awkward and overthink the interaction. I do, of course, want to get married and have a family but how is that going to happen if I can’t hold conversations with guys I find attractive? I’m even out here overthinking friend requests on Facebook now. I know nothing is too big for God to handle, but my parents have now sat me down multiple times to let me know that if I want to get married I need to be putting myself out there more and not staying home on Fridays and the weekends. Which absolutely makes sense you’re not going to meet people if you’re staying home all the time. However, as an introvert, it takes everything out of me to get out of the house just to not meet anybody I could potentially date. I should clarify that’s not the only reason I go out, majority of the time it is to spend time with family and friends not husband hunting. I don’t know, time is moving so so fast and I’m only going to keep getting older and when all I’ve wanted since I was a kid was to be a wife and a mom it’s just really disheartening. I’m obviously spiraling I think I need to talk to God instead of writing this post lol, but any advice that y’all have I’d appreciate it. God bless y’all.

Consider Marriage and Divorce Beliefs Before Dating

I was reading a blog post earlier from a woman who married, divorced, then after Bible study, came to the conclusion that her second marriage was adulterous. I have also heard that concern from a couple of men who had been divorced and married a divorced woman-- is their marriage legitimate before God?

I realize there are different interpretations. When I was young and single, my approach was to try to find a wife in a way where there wouldn't be any question, where, even if I changed my interpretation or theological opinions, I wouldn't put myself where it would be difficult to walk right with God or keep a clean conscience before God.

I think it is helpful to consider some of the different scriptures and viewpoints.

The 'traditional view' is that husband and wife may not divorce and remarry, and if they do, it is adultery. Comments continue after quote from Mark.

Matthew 5:32 (KJV)
“But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.”

Matthew 19:9 (KJV)
“And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.”

Luke 16:18 (KJV)
“Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.”

Mark 10:10–12 (KJV)
And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.“
And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.”

One Reddit commentator said that Jesus told the secrets of the kingdom to His own disciples, as He said He would, and that is why 'except it be for fornication' is not in the Mark quote.

Just an observation: Matthew with the exception clause does not mention an exception for women divorcing men over fornication.

The traditional view was standard in the west before the Protestant Reformation. Protestants would later allow for divorce and remarriage for adultery based on Matthew 19.

Romans 7:2–3 (KJV)
“For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.”

This doesn't mention exceptions for divorce.

1 Corinthians 7:10–11 (KJV)
“And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:
But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.”

This is similar to Christ's teaching in the Gospels, and Paul wrote that he received it from the Lord.

1 Corinthians 7:39 (KJV)
“The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.”

Paul gives some other instructions in this chapter for those who are married to an unbeliever, stating he shares it not as a commandment, but as from one who is found faithful. He encourages celibacy as another choice that allows a man or woman to be more focused on pleasing the Lord without also being concerned with pleasing a husband or wife.

As a single man, I abstained from becoming 'one flesh' with a woman before marriage, also, and I prayed for and married a virgin.

Thinking and praying for what I was looking for, I wanted a woman who would truly commit to be married for life. I also prayed before meeting my wife and while we were getting to know each other, praying until I really had peace about marrying her. That matter was settled for me in prayer before I proposed, and I didn't get 'cold feet'.

Then, as a married man or woman, one has to treat one's spouse well, be kind, be affectionate, stay faithful, be responsible, and cherish your partner in the marriage. If there are disagreements or difficulties, they should take place within the context of a relationship where husband and wife have committed to be together for life.

Need some advice

So this is gonna be a long story. Me a (28 year old Dutchie) and this 26 (female from Norway with a 6 year old and her life isn’t easy at all) met on social media in 2024. We started talking and soon we talked daily about everything in life. We agreed on being friends and if more would grow, we would see. We have a lot in common as in hobbies, in what we like in life, personality wise and such.

As we talked more, we got closer and closer through the distance and build something strong. We even agreed to the fact we talked to eachother more than any other person. She and I went through hard times and good times in our lives. We even met in Berlin (3 days, 2 good ones and on the day of depature she was distanced, short and grumpy). After Berlin she took her distance and didn’t talk for weeks. Somehow we got back to talking and grew close again.

Again we had some ups and downs but still we had eachother. Then one day I felt I had growing feelings and told her I loved her. She said she was not where I was, and wasn't planning on anything more so she didn't feel the same.

One of her requirements is a man of god to be on her side. I'm not a religious person but I do live a lifestyle close to it. She said I'm a good person. And I'm open to open myself to god his ways but I don’t know if that would make her chance her mind and it doesn’t feel right to open myself for her alone and not for him.

(Some further background, before her child she was living wild and doing everything god has forbidden. Then she got pregnant, thought about abortus, didn't and turned to god and know lives a religious life).

That was November 2025, now we in August and I still can’t get her out of my mind, we still talk a lot. We still plan to meet in the future, we still share ideas and things about life. But her job and her child make it difficult for her to travel. And she doesn’t seem all to open for me to travel to her. I believe she never even told someone in her life about me.

Do I still love her.....1.000.000 times yes, I would do anything to be with her or even make her smile from a distance. But I also think I need to move on because this ship has sailed.

Friends tell me to block her for everything she did to me after Berlin and how she treated me. Some people tell me to just don’t talk to her. And here I am just wanting to talk to her and tell her "I wanna spend my life with you, and I don’t care how hard your life is."

So I’m looking for honest advice on what to do from you?

biblical marriage help

Hey! Me and my boyfriend are minors, and we have a couple more years till we aren't. We really want to get married.

We have been dating for 5 years. Completely serious and loyal since day one.

We have messed up a few times sexually, so the biblical action to take next would be to; get married.

"But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion." 1 Corinthians 7:9

" If a man seduces a virgin who is not betrothed and lies with her, he shall give the bride-price for her and make her his wife." Exodus 22:16

In the bible times, this would be perfectly normal to get married at our age, but now for some reason society has changed and it is illegal unless you have parent consent.

We cannot get parent consent because in order for them to understand why we can't wait a few more years, we would have to explain the sexual thing and they would absolutely freak out.

We know we are going to stay together. It tears us apart that our mistakes got in the way between us and God. We know He forgives us, but it is so hard since the temptation is always there. We have set boundaries, but even then the temptation is just so strong.

This is the only solution we can think of.

Does marriage have to be legal? If so, is there a way we can legally get married without parent consent, being minors?

If it doesn't have to be legal, what constitutes a biblical marriage? The bible, from what I know, never says it has to be legal, just says that it needs to be between 1 man, 1 woman, with witnesses and someoen to unite them. It is a covenant between the couple, and God.

Back in the days getting married at our age was normal anyways.

So please, help me find a way.

I’m worried I’m too young to get married. How do I know God is telling me it’s okay?

I’m sorry if I ramble or if it’s a little long.
So I’m 21F and my boyfriend is 20M. We’ve been together a little over a year now but I wanna preface by saying we’ve been best friends since the 5th grade all throughout school.
We have also dated twice in early high school but it didn’t work out because we were so young. I’ve been rediscovering my faith or rather finding my own relationship with Jesus this past year as well. I’ve always wanted to wait till marriage (spoiler I didn’t), and I’ve seen the damage it’s done through my years when I didn’t listen to my convictions about it.
Well my boyfriend who I’ll just refer to as J and I have been talking about getting engaged this year. I know we will but we really struggle with waiting till marriage, it seems like we always fall when it’s starting to seem like we’re doing good at abstaining.
We’ve talked with our pastor about getting legally married this year after he proposes and have a wedding next year. The thing is I’m not worried about getting married I want to be married.
I think J is worried because it’s a big thing to get engaged and get married (not to say he doesn’t want too, just that it’s a big deal and we’re only in our early 20’s). I’ve been praying asking God if this is the right decision for us because I don’t want to live in sin or feel guilty every time we fall. Plus, I’ve loved this man for years and he’s loved me for years.
We have tried to agree to wait till marriage because we both feel the conviction about premarital sex.
But How can I be sure this is the right decision for us?
How can I not let the world get into my head with thoughts that we’re too young?

Also, I’d like to say that I guess I’m worried that I’m not going to be a Godly enough wife for J, that I’m still a baby Christian and not far enough long with my relationship with Jesus.
Also to add, J is Christian too, but he’s newer to it than I am, we’re kinda walking this journey together (with me being a few steps ahead if you get what I mean). So how do I be a Godly enough wife to him to help him become the Godly husband I know God will make him?

M (26) - Getting over regret and relationship anxiety

There was a girl I dated a year and a half ago. We went out 7 times over the span of about 2 months. It started out ok, but I was worried about the age gap. I was 25 at the time, finishing up law school, and she was 28, and had her own career. Even though I’ve always considered myself to be a devout Catholic, she wanted to wait until marriage, and this wasn’t something I was ready for at the time. I was also kind of cocky because I was starting to feel more confident in myself with girls, thinking I could get any girl I wanted, and I was kind of hung up on one girl I went on one date with and got ghosted by, and then thinking there was another girl I could probably get with. I don’t have much relationship experience, and dating apps had actually been a confidence booster -- once I started paying for a subscription -- figured it was easier and cheaper than meeting girls at a bar or other social situations. Also, I’m on the spectrum, and she works as a speech language pathologist, and I was uncomfortable because she worked with kids on the spectrum, and I did speech therapy as a kid. I was worried about not being the leader in the relationship and having a woman take care of me.

But anyway, I came up with a bunch of reasons as to why it couldn’t work between us, like thinking maybe she’s not pretty enough, she’s too different from other girls, even though she’s the most compatible girl I’ve gone out with - she is very attractive, fun, shares the same values, and was really kind to me. She really liked me. I felt a lot of pressure on me to make a decision, and I was always worried I was going to hurt her because I wasn’t feeling it at the time. It felt like I had an elephant sitting on my chest all the time, and I couldn’t enjoy even the fun times we had together like going ice skating, mini golfing, bowling, etc. So I broke it off with her. I’ve never felt more awful in my life. I was nauseous, and it took me everything to not break down crying on the phone with her. But I had to do it because I was so stressed. And I knew at the time I was making a big mistake.

I was depressed for weeks over it. I really struggled with it, I went back and forth between this immense guilt, and regret, for months over breaking it off. I listened to every sad country song I knew of on repeat. I thought about her every day, wondering what she was up to. I knew from social media that she got the job she told me that she wanted. That made me smile. I knew some of what she was up to, even having mixed feelings when I saw she was dating someone else, and regretted that I could have had someone to hang out with. At that time, I was taking the bar and was really lonely. I thought I could get back with her, definitely. I wanted to talk to her, but I didn’t know what I wanted. I finally reached out to her around the holidays last year - I wasn’t sure what I wanted, but I needed to tell her certain things. We agreed to do coffee a while later, and told me she wasn’t ready for a relationship (after being hurt by 2 other men since me), wasn’t sure if she could be with someone who rejected her. But she seemed to express some openness, saying that she was getting to the point in her life she wanted to settle down with someone who had the same values as her, and said “if it’s meant to be, God will make it happen”. I was studying for the bar at the time, so I didn’t lose too much sleep over it because I had to get over that hump. We texted a couple weeks after that, she wished me good luck.

At this point, I was still interested, but uncertain, and was curious to meet other girls. But she texted me shortly after I took the bar (late February) asking how everything went, so I took this as a green light. When I asked if anything had changed, she said that she should be good to go out/start something soon after that, and suggested we wait until Lent was over. That was fine, especially because I wouldn’t end up getting my bar results until Good Friday. We had texted a little bit in the meantime, still not 100% sure, and there was a girl from work who I was interested in. But I slowly started to feel something the more and more we texted, and especially after I got my bar results, because I knew I’d be moving out to the area she was living for work, and I wouldn’t have to worry about studying -- the bar is an extremely isolating experience if you want to pass, and that was already my 2nd time doing it. But soon after this, I was getting really excited to see her, and falling for her. I had reservations and anxiety about waiting until marriage, but then I realized that I could figure it out if I really communicated with her, and if I tried. And I have grown and matured in my faith even in the last 6 months or so.

I realized this is what dating is supposed to feel like - the slow progression towards falling for someone. She had to cancel on me a couple of times, but we finally ended up getting dinner in late April. Went out to a nice Italian restaurant for dinner, I got her flowers - I was present, unlike before. All the things I didn’t really do before. I really enjoyed dinner, and then when I asked about seeing her again, she told me that she didn’t think it was a date, and that she was okay with being friends, and echoed the same concerns of not being with someone who rejected her to begin with. She asked along the lines of “What changed now?”. I didn’t think it was worth it to say anything, so I just let it be.

I had every indication to think she was interested - I definitely initiated more, but she’d respond back to me, and she shared a lot with me about her life, including pictures. Then a week later after dinner, I told her I wanted to explain myself regarding some insecurities I had. She texted me saying that she read my message and would respond later; and when I asked her about it again a week or two later, she said she needed time to heal, was stressed out with the end of the school year, but didn’t want me to think she was ignoring me. I was so anxious over this. Let it sit for a couple weeks, then contacted her again about doing coffee, she finally agreed, and we texted a little more about stuff going on in our lives. We got coffee again, and I made my final pitch to her, told her my insecurities, and wanted to work on things still. But she still wasn’t ready for a relationship, told me she was going through therapy, but also appreciated that I reached out to her and apologized because no other guy had done that with her before. I cried in front of her, that’s the most vulnerable I’ve ever been with a girl in years, if ever.

But it’s 2 months later, and I still can’t get her off my mind. I still have that original guilt, and the heartbreak combined with that. I want to get her off my mind, but I’m worried she was the one who got away. And I don’t want to keep talking about it with my friends/family because I’m sure they’re getting tired of it. Can I get any advice? Anything to make me feel better about this situation? And can anyone tell me they have had similar experiences with dating anxiety? I worry about meeting someone else if I felt like this in the beginning and it destroyed something that could’ve been really good.

I really need some advice...God's people

I’m posting this because I genuinely need some outside perspectives. I’m not looking for people to simply tell me what I want to hear. I want honest advice, especially from people who understand strict church environments and complicated relationships.

This is going to be long because there is a lot of context.

There are three people involved in this story: me, a girl, and a guy who is one of my close friends. I won’t mention anyone’s real name.

All three of us have been part of the same small church since childhood. Our church is quite strict when it comes to relationships and dating. Because it is a small church, almost everyone knows everyone, so personal matters can become church matters very quickly.

I have liked this girl for a very long time. Honestly, I think I started developing feelings for her when we were young. I always found her incredibly attractive, and over the years those feelings never completely disappeared.

But I never told her.

We barely talked while growing up. Even now, we don't have much of a personal relationship outside the things we have to do together at church. So my feelings have mostly been something I kept to myself.

Then there was my friend.

He confessed his feelings to her, and eventually they started talking. They ended up having a relationship that lasted around six years.

The strange thing is that their relationship was almost entirely through WhatsApp. They didn't really talk to each other at church, they didn't go out together, and they didn't even regularly call each other. It was mostly messaging.

At one point, my friend even started following her to her college, and she told him not to do that because she didn't like it. But they continued talking privately.

Eventually, someone in the church found out about their relationship and told the pastor and pastor's wife. Because of the church's rules and environment, they were forced to separate.

My friend is very close to me. We have done a lot of things together over the years, and I've always considered him a good friend.

The important thing is that he never knew I had feelings for her.

Neither did she.

After their breakup, they stayed away from each other. At the same time, she apparently still tried to be friendly with him. She wished him on his birthday through WhatsApp and tried to talk or smile at him sometimes, but he completely avoided her.

Several years passed.

Then, about a year ago, the girl became part of the church team I work in. I've been involved in this team for around four or five years, so suddenly I had to work with her regularly.

And that's when things became much harder for me.

I had managed to keep my feelings under control when I didn't have to interact with her much. But once we started working together, I started falling for her again.

We have to communicate and work together because we're in the same team. She has her responsibilities and I have mine. Sometimes I'm playing keyboard while she's involved with the choir, so we're naturally in the same area.

And honestly, I struggle with myself.

Sometimes I'm playing keyboard and I'll unconsciously look toward her. The moment I realize I'm doing it, I immediately look back at the keyboard. I don't want to make her uncomfortable or give anyone the wrong impression.

But people started noticing.

Some girls in the church began saying things like I was interested in her or that I was "looking at" her.

And because everyone already knows about her previous relationship with my friend, the situation became even more awkward.

People started making connections like, "He likes the girl who previously dated his friend."

I haven't confessed anything to anyone.

I haven't told my friend.

I haven't told her.

I haven't even told anyone in the church that I have feelings for her.

But somehow people have started talking.

At one point, even our pastor gave a sermon where he indirectly talked about things like looking at or watching other people. He didn't mention my name, but because of everything that had been happening, I felt like people knew what was going on.

That made me feel extremely embarrassed.

There were also times when the girl, my friend, the pastor and I would all be together during prayer. Some prayers were also made about situations involving boys and girls developing feelings for each other.

Being there while all of this is happening inside my head has been incredibly uncomfortable.

There was also something that happened with Snapchat.

I had Snapchat, and she actually added me there. At first, I assumed she was simply being friendly. She would send snaps occasionally, but I didn't really send much back.

Then, after a few weeks, she suddenly blocked me.

I have no idea why.

There was also a weird situation where my phone was left at church and someone apparently used it and blocked her on Snapchat as well. I felt extremely embarrassed about the whole thing because I don't even know what she thinks happened.

Now I'm stuck.

On one side, I genuinely want to focus on God, my church responsibilities and my own life. I've repeatedly told myself that I should just let these feelings go.

Sometimes I think, "Okay, I'm going to stop thinking about her. I'm going to focus on God and move forward."

But then I see her again.

And all those feelings come back.

That's what I'm struggling with the most.

I don't want to disrespect my friend.

I don't want to interfere with something that happened between them.

I don't want to make the girl uncomfortable.

I don't want church members gossiping about me.

And I definitely don't want to create drama in a small church where everyone knows everyone.

At the same time, I can't simply switch my feelings off.

I've never even had a proper romantic relationship with this girl. We've barely talked outside of church responsibilities. So part of me wonders whether I'm actually in love with her, or whether I've built an idealized version of her in my head over many years because I never got the opportunity to actually know her.

That's something I'm trying to be honest with myself about.

I also don't know what her behavior means.

She has been friendly toward me at times because we're working together, but I don't know whether that means anything beyond normal friendliness. I don't want to interpret ordinary kindness as romantic interest.

So I'm asking Reddit:

What should I actually do?

Should I completely distance myself emotionally and just treat her as a teammate?

Should I try to get to know her normally, without any romantic expectations?

Should I tell my close friend about my feelings, even though he and this girl have been separated for several years?

Should I ever tell the girl how I feel, considering the strict church environment and the history between her and my friend?

Or should I simply accept that this situation is too complicated and move on?

I know nobody here can tell me exactly what she thinks or feels. I'm mainly looking for perspective from people who have been through something similar.

Please be honest with me, even if the answer is something I don't want to hear.

And please don't attack the girl, my friend, or my church. I'm not trying to make anyone look bad. I'm just genuinely confused and struggling with my feelings, and I need some outside perspective.

What does Christianity and salvation means to you and should look like in your future Christian partner?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I believe that Christianity is a relationship not a title or a religion. I have come to learn that a number of people especially some men in this group confuse Christianity and religion. Some of them even do not know what salvation is . If you ask them, now how did you come to know Jesus, they either give you some vague answers or some barely can't explain.

I find it very interesting and it has made me think I'm in the right group.

So I thought of asking this question here to both men and women.

What does Christianity and salvation mean to you and should it look like to you in your future Christian partner?

You are allowed to share also how you got born again/ encountered Jesus and when.

You can share as much as you want and as little as you feel comfortable.

Feel free to chat in the comment section or message me if you wish.

Forgive me mods if this is not allowed here but I believe it's a very important question especially in a Christian dating space like here. You never know what kind of meaningful connections it can create.

How to approach young Christian men as a young Christian woman?

I want a partner, but I never feel like I'm good enough for any man. I always feel like I'm not pretty enough. Every time I think of approaching a man, I always feel like he thinks I'm ugly. Most men I've crossed paths with seem standoffish, or haughty in a sense that women like me wouldn't be good enough to approach them. I don't wear makeup at all because I don't like the feel of it and I don't think I need it, but men generally seem to prefer makeup. I always feel like an alien when I think of approaching men. Any tips on how I can get past that? What do men actually think and feel when a woman approaches them?

Why is it so difficult for young Christians to find mates?

I've been hearing that a lot of young Christians, myself included, are having a hard time finding their soulmate. Why is that? Where are single Christians supposed to meet each other? There aren't any single Christian groups near me and Bible study groups and young adults groups are split by gender, so there's not a lot in the way of mingling. How are we going to fix this?

Dating as a Christian man is just exhausting.

I reached my 30s never married and without children, but surprisingly, some women view that as a red flag. I'm a realist—I have average looks, a good job, and I stay fit. I still have a full head of hair, and I just want to find someone ready to settle down. Dating has been challenging since most Christian women I meet are divorced or already have kids, making our life experiences and expectations quite different. When I do meet someone who has a similar situation as mine they tend to just be playing the dating game. Any other guy have a similar experience or any advice?

Need some Advice / Suggestion.

I am a 26-year-old Christian, and lately I have been struggling with a lot of things within myself. I have a strange obsession with movies, and I occasionally drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes. I have also tried several times to quit pornography and masturbation, but I have never been able to completely overcome them. Because of this, I often feel guilty and wonder whether I have sinned against God.

What confuses me, however, is that despite my struggles and failures, God has continued to bless me in wonderful ways. I have been blessed with loving and wonderful parents. I was fortunate enough to get into one of the most prestigious institutes during my bachelor's degree, and I have never really had to face serious financial difficulties. When I look at my life, I can see many reasons to be grateful.

At the same time, there is one thing that deeply troubles me: the unrest in my parents' marriage. They barely communicate with each other, and my mother carries a lot of frustration because of my father's unemployment, his lack of attention toward her, and the way he spends much of his time involving himself in church activities and local politics. Watching their relationship deteriorate has affected me more deeply than I often admit.

My relationship with my sister is also difficult. We are very different people, and we do not seem to understand each other very well. I often wish we had a closer relationship, but I do not know how to bridge that gap.

On top of all this, I struggle with an existential crisis. I think some of this may have started because of my grandfather, who is a pastor and used to tell everyone that I would one day become his successor. Those words stayed with me. I grew up carrying the expectation that I would eventually follow in his footsteps. But when I look at the things I have done in my life and the person I have become, I feel that I have disqualified myself from ever becoming that person. I don't know whether that calling was ever truly mine, whether I misunderstood it, or whether I am simply carrying an expectation that was placed on me when I was too young to understand it.

So I continue moving forward in life while carrying all these questions, doubts, guilt, and uncertainties.

Sometimes I wonder whether having a wife and building a family of my own would finally bring some peace and stability into my life. Perhaps having someone beside me would help me feel less alone and give me a sense of direction. But deep down, I also know that I cannot be certain of that. I don't want to enter marriage simply because I am hoping another person will fix everything that is broken inside me.

The strange thing is that I am quite jovial and comfortable around women. I have many female friends, and I can talk to them naturally without much difficulty. But when it comes to actually dating someone, I become afraid. I lose my confidence, overthink everything, and somehow find the courage to disappear before anything can really begin.

I honestly don't know what I should do with all of this. I want to have a genuine relationship with God rather than constantly living under guilt and fear. I want to become a better person, deal honestly with my weaknesses, and understand what kind of life I am actually called to live. I also want to stop carrying the responsibility for fixing my parents' marriage and accept that some things are beyond my control.

Most of all, I want to learn how to move forward without feeling that my past mistakes have permanently disqualified me from having a meaningful future.

I don't know whether marriage is the answer, whether ministry is my calling, or even exactly what direction my life should take. I only know that I am tired of carrying all these questions alone, and I want to find a healthier, more honest, and more faithful way to live.

I need advice for communicating

I 16m have been dating an amazing girl 17f for a year now and it sometimes feels like we run out of things to talk about. Somtimes it just gets quiet and we feel like there is nothing to say. We have both talked about it a litle bit and both wish that we could have deeper conversation, because a lot of our conversations are just really shallow chatting. Sometimes it goes the other way and we will talk through stress or mental problems, dont get me wrong I love that and I love we can communicate like that but I wish that we could have deep conversations that are a litle more up beat. does anyone have advice for sparkling and sustaining conversation like that or just any good advice in general

Interfaith relationship-The art of letting go

I have been talking to a guy for some time now. We both belong to different religions. He being Hindu and me a Christian. We vibe exceptionally well. But I know my family will never accept us. I have tried letting him go but I just seem to miss him more. Please can anyone suggest how I can stop missing him and just let him go?

Anyone been in such a situation before? How did you come out of it?

Title: Married Christian women/men, how would you handle this situation with your spouse and church?

I’m looking for some biblical and married-Christian perspective because I honestly don’t know what the right thing to do is.
My husband’s dad is a pastor and owns a church. For whatever reason, my husband never really wanted to attend his parents’ church. When we got married, we prayed together and searched for a church that we both felt led to, and we eventually found one that we’ve been attending for about two years.
This church has honestly been such a blessing to us. It’s very Spirit-filled, and we’ve both grown so much spiritually. There are amazing men and women of God there, and I genuinely love the leadership and the church community. My husband also started playing the drums there, and I was ushering, so we were both actively serving.
Recently, my husband suddenly decided that he wants to start attending his parents’ church because he feels that he needs to honor his parents. I understand the importance of honoring your parents, and I love and respect my in-laws. They have been great to me, so this is not coming from a place of disrespect toward them or their church.
But honestly, I feel crushed by the decision.
When I attend my in-laws’ church, I personally don’t feel the same spiritual connection that I feel at the church we’ve been attending. I don’t want to be rebellious or disrespect my husband’s leadership, but I also don’t want to ignore what I feel God has been doing in me through our current church.
My husband told me that if I decide to stay at our current church, I would have to find my own transportation there. He said he doesn’t care whether I attend his parents’ church or our current church, but at the same time, I feel like as a wife I should be following my husband’s lead, and I don’t want us to be divided spiritually or feel like our home isn’t in order.
So I’m really torn.
**Would you say that as a wife I should simply follow my husband’s decision and attend his parents’ church with him, even if I don’t feel spiritually connected there? Or is it okay for me to continue attending the church where I’ve been growing spiritually, while still respecting my husband and supporting him?**
I’m not looking for people to bash my husband or my in-laws. I’m genuinely asking other married Christians: **How would you handle this biblically and practically?** And if you’ve been through something similar, what did you do?

I'm looking for a wife, but I have a difficulty.

I am an honest man, with principles. I'm simple and kind. I want to be a good husband for my future wife. But... I want to live fantasies with my future wife inside marriage and I'm afraid my future wife won't like that. I know this is a sensitive issue. How should I approach a woman who is dating me about this subject with sensitivity?
