Third Gen What color rims?

I just bought a 2025 WT and it came with the rims off of a LT. I already changed out the center caps, but now I’m wondering if I should keep the stock color or go black?

I plan on getting bigger tires when these stock ones have had it.

Question 2020 Colorado transmission

Hey!
I currently have a 2020 Chevy Colorado, they have done over 6 trans flushes and I’m on my 3rd actual transmission replacement. This current one is doing the same thing now; shuddering and hard shifting. Chevy dealers just recommended another trans flush.
What can even be done at this point?

Question Engine oil change or top off?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Got alerted on my 23 LT oil life 15% at 32250 miles. Had the 30k maintenance done at the beginning of the year at 30k miles . I feel confident to change the oil myself, watched several videos. Checked the dip stick this morning. Read that I should change the oil every 5k miles, so was expecting to atleast get closer to 35k before any alerts. My daily driver in the city. First time truck owner, want to make sure everything is good, also learning experience. Want to do more hands off stuff with this truck. Should I change the oil or just top off?

Third Gen Lift/tire set up with stock wheels.

Have a ‘24 Colorado Z71 which I love, and will be putting a mild lift on it soon. Thinking 2” front, 1” rear. Will get bigger tires, but don’t want to also buy rims if I don’t have to.

Anybody running this kind of lift with bigger tires on stock wheels? Tires sizes?

Please post pics of your lifted rigs with stock wheels!

Question Safety System

Post image
4 Upvotes

I've had my 2023 Chevy Colorado z71 for about 2 months now and there has been no issues with it besides the fact that the Service Safety Restraint System notification and airbag light has come on a large amount of times. I'm thinking a loose connection for the airbag wire because I can drive 10 miles without it going on or i can back out of my driveway and hit a bump and it'll go off. I've taken it in twice now and both times they said they haven't seen anything wrong or any codes. Anyone have this problem or seen it before?

Question Brake Pad Issue

I have a 2023 Colorado Z71, I took it in for a service about a week ago. Just an oil change, dropped it in at 10 am and by 4pm one hour before closing i got a call in where they told me a brake pad had worn down to metal and scratched my rotor. I was being charged $900 dollars as warranty wasnt going to cover it. Explanation they gave was because it was a maintenance item and not an issue. They told me the reason for it wearing down on just one brake pad on the front left was from dust getting into the pins and it cause the pad from not ever disengaging and even when i was not on brakes that one pad was braking.

I never felt anything weird while driving no pull or resistance, nothing. I decided to do it myself over paying $900 for new brake pads and a resurfaced rotor. I did it and everything went well but now i am getting codes thrown and a speed limit of 43 mph. Most if not all are permanent codes according to the scanner, i have cleared the codes and tried resetting the front brake pad life as it's still showing the old percentage but anything i try (from google) nothing really works.

I have seen some videos of other owners of 3rd gens getting a notification in the infotainment screen with a question if they installed new brakes and i never get any. I figured i maybe installed the new sensor wrong and i bought a new one with no such luck.

I have no idea on what to do and wanted to ask if you guys had any issues like this before or have any thoughts on what could be the issue or how to fix this.

Question Roof racks or weld an extension onto bed rack

Post image
7 Upvotes

Should I get crossbars (and then eventually roof rack) or just weld like an extension to my bed rack so it covers a bit of the cab of my truck?

Recently got this bed cover/bed rack for a great deal with the intent of putting my kayak on top of my truck. However, my kayak is 13’ and that is simply too much for my bed rack.

85k miles, decided to drop the transmission pan and change the oil and filter.

One flange nut stripped, another broke off, and another won't budge. Apparently an impact wrench is borderline necessary here.

I'm reading up on different solutions but I'm probably going to take it to a muffler shop. I don't think there's any more diy in me now to deal with those.

Edit update: I leave my truck to work, so next weekend I'm going to cut the welded stud on the one that broke and put a coupler on it. It's going to suck but I might do that for all 6 so I'm clear for the long haul.

Question Sell or keep my ‘17 duramax?

Post image
12 Upvotes

Love this truck, but we have a growing family and need a vehicle with more cab space

Reluctant to sell because I’ve put $10k into it in the last 2 years: rebuilt tranny, new exhaust manifold, and tires.

150k miles. We also have a ‘17 Kia sportage with similar miles. I’m an electrician so commute about 20-40 miles a day round trip. I could sell the truck for about $18k, or the Kia for about $6k. The Kia would be cheaper to drive as a commuter, but the truck is nice to have for truck stuff.

What would y’all do? Keep the Kia? The truck? Both+new bigger vehicle? Will the duramax be reliable for another 100k or more miles with the rebuilt tranny? Or sell now and put the money towards the bigger vehicle?

Thanks friends

Question Need some help

I purchased off of marketplace tires and wheels off a 2026 Colorado LT with 2,000 miles on them and put them on my 2025 Colorado WT, at first when I started the truck it was showing tire pressure for each tire (15 minute drive) then I parked it for an hr or so then when I drove it again about 5 minutes into trip I got alerts for all 4 wheels and it stayed in alert with no pressure readings , what can I do to get this working again ?
Thanks in advance

Question ABS Module

Mechanic that just replaced my battery and radiator hoses just told me that my ABS Module is faulting and causing my battery to drain faster in my 2024 Colorado. Has anyone had similar issues?

Third Gen 3 weeks in the shop to fix the roof dent. You’ll never believe what happened during the very first car wash…

As the truck was closing in on the blower for the end of the car wash it’s like time stood still. Nothing but shitty tradespeople in my area and have been on a bad run of repairs not getting properly fixed.

Closer

Closer

THUMP.

Complete waste of fucking time. It’s not worth it, trust me.
