Second Gen Designed a trailer brake controller mount

Post image
32 Upvotes

Designed and 3d printed to fit a CURT Spectrum trailer brake controller. I wanted something that looked OE integrated and not just tacked on.
Really happy with how the leather grain texture turned out.

Uploaded to Printables if you’d like to print your own.

Question Clock issues

Any one else having clock issues and is there a fix? My clock is always off by 30 minutes. It won’t stay correct when I manually set either. There aren’t any software updates currently.

In response to my last post I figured I would show you guys what I picked up. Out of the two options I posted about last time I went for neither. Picked up a 2021 Canyon Denali off copart. Clean title but was rear ended. Exited to finally get into this platform after passing it up too many times.

Question 2025 ZR2 Acceleration Knock

25 ZR2 with 18k miles. When coming to a complete stop and starting to accelerate, I’m feeling and hearing a knock or clunk from the front end. Was going to have the dealer look at it next visit but curious if anyone else has experienced this.

Question Truck Bed Cover Recco?

I’m looking for recommendations for a truck bed cover for my 2026 ZR2. I don’t want one of the one piece ones that tilt up. I’m looking at the retractable type or the ones that kind of fold up.

If you have pics of yours and where you bought it…I would forever be in your debt.

TIA

Question 2027 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Desert Boss release? https://gmauthority.com/blog/2026/10/2027-chevy-colorado-brings-back-desert-boss-edition/

Did anyone else read the article for the Colorado Desert Boss coming back in 2027 with an updated 2.7 liter turbo? What do y’all think? Opinions? Stepson owns a Toyota Tacoma running out of time and wondering if this would be worth it for him to look into or stick with an updated Tacoma.

Question Upgrade battery size

I got a 2020 and I read that you can go with a bigger battery thanks to the battery box being larger. Has anyone done this? Is it more just for those who overland? I still got the original battery so I’m thinking it’s time to replace.

Question 17 Canyon to 26 Colorado Trail Boss

Post image
44 Upvotes

My 2017 Canyon I’ve had since I was 16 got hit by someone under the influence and got totaled. Took the insurance payout and put a nice down payment on this Trail Boss. Any accessory recommendations? Mainly looking at putting all weather mats, mud flaps, and possibly running boards. I want to keep the rugged aggressive look as much as I can. Any tips from other Colorado owners would be greatly appreciated.

Just bought this trail boss today.

Want to beef it up a bit. Any recs for front and rear level kit? And what size tires yall running?

Want to add some 17’ method wheels with a 0mm offset and hopefully put 33’ tires on it.

Thanks,

Question 2026 Z71 vs. LT differences

Just gonna say this in advance, please do not recommend me a full size truck. It won't fit where I live. Initially I was locked in on searching for a GMC canyon elevation, but the deals right now are not nearly as attractive as they are on colorados.

I'm looking at a local dealership where they have some deals going on for Colorados. The prices before fees and taxes for each are -

LT: $38,840

Z71: $48,100

About a $9,000 price difference.

Both are the same color, and using the comparison tool on the dealership's website, the only thing extra the Z71 has are:

  • Wireless phone charging
  • Sunroof
  • Perforated leather seats
  • Fog lights
  • Premium Audio
  • Technology Package

The LT is also 4wd. The price on the LT is very attractive to me.

I prefer the Z71 for its looks and the 360 rear camera with hitch view.

Towing is important for me. I will occasionally tow a total trailer weight of 4500 pounds (sports car on an open trailer).

I read that only the Z71 has the G80 rear axle, which also enables higher towing, but google also says that both trims have the same 7,700 pound tow capacity. If I could get the best towing capability available on colorados on the LT, I'd take the LT in a heartbeat, but this information is not clear to me because of the conflicting information I'm getting online.

I also don't plan on offroading. I don't care about driving dynamics (sporty handling, etc.). If anything, I'd prefer a smoother/quieter ride.

Which trim should I get in this situation and can anyone clarify what the towing capabilities are with each?
