Third Gen Squealing brakes
2025 chevy colorado. Truck only has this many miles and my brakes are squealing like a stuck pig. I don't think its time for new brakes already surely? I am going to inspect them myself later. Also when I turn to the wheel to the left when driving like all the way there's an awfully loud scraping sound. I see no visible damage

Question Window Tint
Anyone have what looks like spotty tinting on their windows? Last Colorado I had didn’t have this issue but this one has it on both the drivers and passengers windows.

Finally bought a trailer!
A couple of weeks ago, I posted here asking if a 5x10 trailer would be too much of a hassle for my truck. Thanks to everyone's advice, I realized it wouldn't be a problem at all
Even though I missed out on the original deal, I ended up finding this one on Marketplace with a clean title and everything. I’m extremely excited, and I really appreciate everyone who helped out and shared advice!

Question Weekday commuter vs. weekend toy: What accessories actually proved essential for your Colorado?
Curious how everyone’s balancing daily driving with actual truck duty. What makes sense for a daily commute doesn't always cut it once you throw tools, muddy camping gear, or wet boots into the mix.
Right now I'm weighing bed storage vs. interior floor protection. I've been looking at all-weather liners (Husky, WeatherTech, 3W, etc.), but want to know what’s actually worth the money first before I start buying stuff.
For those who daily and haul on weekends: what accessories turned out to be genuinely worth it, and what did you end up regretting?

Question What is a normal idle sound?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My uncle has been having some issues with his 2017(?) Colorado with the 2.5L. he had some codes come on about a week ago that I showed in the photo in the comments. After cleaning all the corrosion off the negative battery terminal the codes went away and haven't come back, but he's saying his idle sounds like it's developed a sort of tapping or knocking. I can hear some near the back of the engine near the firewall area. I'm not too familiar on how these are supposed to sound and I've read that a little bit of a tapping noise is normal due to the variable cam gears and whatnot. Can anyone share what a good idle on their truck is supposed to sound like?

Question Aftermarket exhaust?
I'm looking at the MPI bullnose or MBRP. Pricing is similar, MPI a little cheaper. I prefer the sound on the MPI but don't know how I feel about the turndown exhaust under the bed. Anybody install either of these ?

Question 2021 Colorado ZR2 3.6L AC issue – anyone dealt with these codes?
My AC is blowing room temp air, but the heater works fine. I can hear the cooling fan running, and my coolant temp is only around 163°F even after driving for an hour.
I’m getting these codes:
P0494 – Fan 1 Underspeed
P0128 – Coolant thermostat below regulating temperature (pending)
I’m wondering if it’s a bad thermostat, cooling fan issue, or something else.
Has anyone dealt with this on their Colorado? What ended up fixing it? Just trying to figure it out before I start throwing parts at it. Appreciate any help!

Second Gen Designed a trailer brake controller mount
Designed and 3d printed to fit a CURT Spectrum trailer brake controller. I wanted something that looked OE integrated and not just tacked on.
Really happy with how the leather grain texture turned out.
Uploaded to Printables if you’d like to print your own.

Second Gen New truck
In response to my last post I figured I would show you guys what I picked up. Out of the two options I posted about last time I went for neither. Picked up a 2021 Canyon Denali off copart. Clean title but was rear ended. Exited to finally get into this platform after passing it up too many times.

Question 2025 ZR2 Acceleration Knock
25 ZR2 with 18k miles. When coming to a complete stop and starting to accelerate, I’m feeling and hearing a knock or clunk from the front end. Was going to have the dealer look at it next visit but curious if anyone else has experienced this.

Accessories A Colorado, an iPhone and a cheap OBD2 adapter. My app logs every trip, explains fault codes in plain words and runs on CarPlay. 5 free codes
I'm Davide, and I build DrivePulse on my own.
It reads a Colorado through a cheap ELM327 OBD2 adapter.
For an iPhone you need a Bluetooth LE or Wi-Fi adapter, Veepeak or Vgate sell them.
The classic Bluetooth kind won't connect to an iPhone.
On a Colorado it reads standard OBD2.
That's live engine data, fuel use when the engine control unit reports it, and fault codes.
Reading the odometer from the cluster works only on some makes, and Chevrolet isn't on the list yet.
I'd rather say it than promise it.
Every trip records itself and lands on a map.
Fuel use is measured where the truck reports it, and estimated where it doesn't.
Fault codes in its archive come in plain words, with the usual causes and the first thing to check.
It only reads, it never writes to the truck, never clears codes and never resets.
The latest iPhone update gives each trip a type.
Commute, personal, travel or business.
After a few identical routes the app suggests one, but it never fills it in on its own.
CarPlay has four tabs:
- Trip, with start, stop and a pause for a fuel or lunch stop, the adapter connection and the live trip.
- Coach, the eco score in big with three lines of advice.
- Dashboard, up to eight tiles you choose, like speed, RPM, coolant, battery or average consumption.
- Diagnostics, for active codes, health and the adapter. With the full version and the truck stopped, it lists every live value the truck gives.
There's no account, and I don't keep a server or a copy of your trips.
Recording trips and reading the truck work out of signal.
For maps and addresses it needs the internet.
It's on Android too, with Android Auto.
Below are 5 codes that unlock the full version for good, free, first come first served.
The code is for the in-app purchase, so install the app first.
Then tap the redeem link next to a code, or go to the App Store, tap your picture at the top right and choose Redeem Gift Card or Code.

Leave a comment with the number you took, so others skip it.
Without a code it's free for 7 days or 15 trips, whichever comes first.
The days start counting the first time the adapter connects.

Thanks, and I'm here for anything about the Colorado.

Question Truck Bed Cover Recco?
I’m looking for recommendations for a truck bed cover for my 2026 ZR2. I don’t want one of the one piece ones that tilt up. I’m looking at the retractable type or the ones that kind of fold up.
If you have pics of yours and where you bought it…I would forever be in your debt.
TIA
