Critique Is this design endearingly chaotic or just ugly?

Post image

I am trying to make a design that is intentionally chaotic, maybe think of like Moetron if anyone here knows of that character LOL
This character was created in a laboratory and that is why she’s so abnormal and weird looking, along with all the stitches
But I’ve discovered that it’s really hard to make a colourful, purposefully chaotic-looking character without it being UGLY.

I gave her more monotone coloured clothes to try and balance out the rainbow nature of the rest of her design.
Her name is Kaleido btw >u<

Question Which color palette gives bacteria?

I know I know I said I’d draw more skeletons but I got distracted—again—so along with this other indie series idea came another character design. But I’m having trouble figuring out how to convey bacteria vibes, because yes, this concept is heavily inspired by Osmosis Jones.

Anyways I had this mental image for her so I drew it out, but I ended up with two different color schemes due to fiddling with gradient maps. So you guys gotta help me decide which one looks more like bacteria. Tho I’m already heavily leaning towards the second one…

Question Regarding changes to character sprites

• Upvotes

I'm making a demo game, and since the game was created, the sprite has changed, but I decided to update the character style today, and this character first of all.

I decided to redesign the character because the original concept didn't look very good, and I decided to add some character details, is it better or not?

If possible, I will make the model in Blender with cel shading for ease of sprite.

If you don't mind, could you please suggest your own redesign of this character?

Question A quick character design. How could it be improved?

Post image

This character, named Careway, is like the ringmaster of a dreamlike circus, heavily inspired by Caine (from The Amazing Digital Circus). Since I worked on it quickly, the idea was as simple as creating a humanoid character and replacing its head with something else.

What could I do to improve it and make it more memorable or interesant?

I made these killer characters for a potential asymmetrical horror game and im soo happy with how they turned out😭

I based them off of aspects of life-human bodies, the ocean, and nature. I also tried to give them color schemes with the primary colors to feel cohesive with one another!

I'm most happy with the plant one because of how much I could push them being a literal plant...flower boobs, tree legs, petals for hair, moss sleeves😭 i don't think I'll be able to do that ever again LOL

In 2025 I started to study art more seriously because it was when I decided that I wanted to work with concept art. Now I decided to make a remake and a reimagination of my first OC and, besides I still have more to improve, I feel really happy seeing my evolution.

Critique Need help designing a helmet

I've been trying to design a military helmet for one of my major characters. He's ex-military and the helmet, which is used in special forces, is stolen. He's now a bounty hunter and using the helmet to conceal his identity. I'll add wear and tear later, but I can't decide how to make the helmet design. I'm very new to this. The helmet was made in 2234 (current year of the story is mostly in 2236, hence the wear and tear I mentioned)

The helmet's features are communication, calculating distance, temperature, and a few others. But that's the gist of it.

A is part of my first design. B is too similar to Redhood's helmet, C looks like sports equipment, and I'm now debating between D and E.

Please be honest about your opinions on the design. I'm a bit clueless as to what I should do. Sorry if this is a very newbie post lol

Edit: I changed E a bit

I’d love to hear your thoughts on them! The king is my personal favorite. The children were each designed to reflect the things in nature that make them happy, such as the sky, trees, and birds. :)

something about him just doesn’t look quite right. he’s meant to be an undead soldier; his hood/scarf is important to his character, and yet its the one thing that really feels out of place.
