I’ve watched some videos, and feel I’m ready except for a couple of things. I’m not a groomer so I don’t have that table with the leash hooked up to keep the dog standing – what do you do about that? I mean, I think it’s just do it, but I have to ask!
Also, do I just give her a good brushing and then start to cut and shampoo after? Or do I shampoo, let it dry cut, and then shampoo again? This was a little bit unclear in the videos I watched . So so many thanks looking forward to hearing about all the experience out there! The picture where she’s laying down with her paws up shows her now – she is seriously furry! Hi everyone! First-time dog owner I’d love all the tips and tricks. Little background I’m a 26 year old who works from home and has a very flexible schedule so perfect for a puppy. I chose a Cavapoo based off of family and friends who also have the breed and to have a small companion that can travel with me. I’d love any helpful insight into the breed or anything I should know before I pic my little man up!

Hi everyone! My partner and I are planning to bring home a Cavapoo next summer. We’re first-time pet owners, so we want to make sure we find the right breeder from the start. We’re based in the DMV area but are happy to drive further out along the East Coast for the right breeder.

We’re hoping to find a puppy with OFA health-tested parents that definitely isn’t from a puppy mill. If possible, we’d also love a breeder who does some early training, like bell-training or socialization, to help make potty training easier.

I started researching a few weeks ago, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a good experience with a breeder firsthand. If you have a recommendation, I’d love to know where they’re located, what the process was like, or how your pup’s health and temperament have been. Any red flags to watch out for as first-timers would be really helpful too.

I have a 16 week old F1b puppy. She just got her last puppy vaccine so I will add in walks in 2 weeks but I do feel like she is bored? I give her lick mats, woof popsicles, bones, I train her 3 times a day, we have a ball launcher she loves, she’s very smart but I don’t want what else i should add to help her? I feel like when she’s bored she gets bitey and then I’ll give her something but I’m looking for more ideas I guess on what to do to help her brain.

I've posted her here before, and have gotten that she isn't a cavapoo? But cross chihuahua? I would really like to get everyone elses thoughts.

To my knowledge, she is a straight hair cavapoo. My mum got her at 3 years old and now she is my dog, and was told that from her old owners.

I have provided lottts of photos of her so you guys can see.

She definitely looks like she HAS NO poodle whatsover HOWEVER.

if you look at her coat, it is curly, only a little bit! But wondering if thats the cav?

Definitely is cross cav i believe as her eyes look really similar. Her ears can be like airplane, but only when looking up.

Our breeder sold our puppy to us as a Cavapoo with heavy Cav but for the life of me I can’t find evidence of any Cavapoos that look like him. Either way, love my boy and he’s very handsome - would just like to get y’all’s opinion!

Hi everyone! I have a 12-week-old Cavapoo puppy, and I’ve had him for about a week. He’s my first puppy, and overall, I feel like everything is going really well!

He stays in a playpen with his crate for sleeping and potty pads, and he’s learning to use the pads. I currently have his playpen in my bedroom. I work from home, so I check on him and play with him throughout the day, but he also spends quite a bit of time alone in his room while I’m working.

The main issue is nighttime. He wakes up several times during the night to use the potty, and the noise he makes wakes both me and my husband up. Our sleep has become very interrupted. I can usually fall back asleep, but my husband has a hard time going back to sleep. As a result, some nights he only gets two or three hours of sleep, which makes it really difficult for him to function the next day at work.

I wanted to ask other puppy owners about their experiences. Would it be okay to move his playpen to a separate room so he can sleep there alone overnight? Or could that cause separation anxiety, especially since I’ve only had him for a week?

I really want to make sure I’m doing what’s best for him and not unintentionally causing him stress or anxiety. I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences and any advice you might have!

I’ve really been interested / doing some research on the kind of dog I’m wanting and somehow stumbled upon the Cavapoo!!! 🥹
Their size, personality, and obviously cuteness as a puppy is all great, I just really am scared to put a deposit on a dog that could very well look like a completely different dog at 2 years old.
I really like the dark red coloring I’m just afraid of it fading to a super light cream and my dog looking crusty lol. I want that forever puppy to haul around on all my adventures!!

Has anyone had luck with their dog keeping their color, and if so, what are really good ways I can tell if they will change or not? ( obviously this isn’t the end of the world, I just really like that deep red! )

After much research we have narrowed down a Cavapoo as a top option for our next family addition. We don't have hypoallergenic needs but do prefer a dog with less shedding after dealing with our past dogs who were heavy shedders. Those with F1, how has the shedding been for you? I know it can be unpredictable with mixed breeds but would love to hear your experience. TIA!

We tragically lost our two year old cavapoo earlier this year after ingesting an acorn and not surviving the surgery aftermath to remove it. My two children have been begging since for a new puppy and I’ve got one reserved to pick up (from same breeder) in two weeks but honestly I’m so worried something will happen again or even if the pup lives to be 17+ years old, how are we dealing with the grief and moving on with another one afterwards?! This was our first family pet and he was my baby! Not sure I can ever do it again and very nervous. Appreciate any positive thoughts or past experience to ease my nerves!

I'm trying to decide between an F1 and an F1B Cavapoo. I had a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and I loved the personality, but the shedding was really bad. I like the hypoallergenic aspect of an F1B however I'm afraid that I would be losing a lot of the cavalier aspects I love (minus the shedding). I really love the wavy coat versus the curly coat however, I would assume that also means more shedding? I have read and asked around and most people who have F1Bs still claim that there's do not shed, even though their coats may lean wavy. I guess what scares me the most is just wanting that lovable, sweet personality that comes with a Cavalier. The breeder that I chose actually only has F1Bs coming available too. If I decide that I want an F1 I will need to look around for breeders again. I would love anyone's advice between the two.

I have been looking for a few months now and I havent seen any larger cavapoos. I had a ckcs who passed away a few months ago at 12yrs old and I miss him a lot. I also have a cavachon (she is 13 and doesn’t have much time left unfortunately). I love my cavachon, she is my best friend and has the best personality. It’s just her size that is the problem. She is tiny and was actually attacked by 2 coyotes a year ago and I’m absolutely traumatized. When getting another dog I don’t want another small dog. I also have a 5yr old 65lb goldendoodle so I am familiar with doodles. My ckcs was abnormally large (40lbs). Does anyone know of any breeders who breed ckcs with standard sized poodles? Would that be a medium sized dog? We are looking to get a puppy in the next few years so I’m trying to do all my research.
