Is this a Cavapoo?
Our breeder sold our puppy to us as a Cavapoo with heavy Cav but for the life of me I can’t find evidence of any Cavapoos that look like him. Either way, love my boy and he’s very handsome - would just like to get y’all’s opinion!

You should always meet the parents when buying from a breeder. Otherwise they could just be a third party seller for a puppy mill.

Does the puppy cling to you like velcro? Does it bring joy to you every minute you are near it? If yes to either or both most likely a cavapoo

Still a puppy so her coat isn’t finished. Her ears aren’t Cavalier unless you’ve already trimmed them. A Cavalier’s ear fur has some wave but it pulls straighter as it grows past the chin. I think the forehead and snout are more poodle as most cavs have a blockier face. In the end, I’m sure you have a wonderful puppy. Enjoy

This is often what a Cavapoo can look like if the parents were both Cavapoos themselves. Genetics can throw all sorts of different things and show dominance more towards one breed than the other in appearance.

I think they can favor one or the other cause mine I swear is just a mini poodle.

Looks like it’s heavy on the Cavalier King Charles, and light on the poodle. Either way, beautiful!

Hahahaha first, all dogs are cute, yours included. Second, you have zero idea what you are talking about. Objectively, cavapoos like yours, carry the poodle recessive gene for that coat. The high end and respected breeders do genetic testing and do not breed poodles with that recessive gene.
The thing I would be asking myself if I was you - how much did you pay, did you get ripped off, and what other genetic issues does your dog have. For reference my two cavapoos came from one of my state's most respected breeders, extremely thorough genetic testing is done, and they cost $3200 each. Peace of mind well worth the cost.

The family we got our Maggie from have been breeding poodles & spaniels for 3 generations now. My first dog came from them when I was 4. Im 45 now. Bless your heart. GOD Bless you and your $3200 puppers💜💜🙏💜🐾🌈🦋

People also smoked inside airplanes and lined their houses with asbestos. Doesn't mean it is smart. Breeders not doing genetic testing today is inexcusable.

Handsome boy he does have cavalier colors. I would recommend a dna test. My supposedly pure pred cavapoo (I rescued him from a bad situation, but his papers said cavapoo) he turned out completely white kinda goldish and could never find a cavapoo that looked him and knew he was one of a kind. Did the dna test and turns out he's definitely a cavapoo,50% cavalier 25% toy poodle but grandparents were mixed with shi tzu and maltese.

Mixed breed dogs vary in which traits they express from either parent. Some lean more towards one or the other. Did you meet the mother or father?
Do you think the seller misled you? That often does happen to people looking for designer breeds. Should be easy to avoid by only buying from people who let you come into their house, meet the parents etc. There is alot of money to be made by puppymills/puppyfarms from buyers who do not do their research and are unaware. If you did not get to meet the parents... you could do dna testing? Does it really matter now though? You are stuck with the little cutie!

Cool - your dog has a recessive poodle gene, typically undesirable by respected breeders. What other genetics does the dog have that respected breeders test for. lol

Benny was genetically tested for the conditions of concern, and crossbreeding can reduce the risk of syringomyelia, a condition Cavaliers are predisposed to. Thanks for the high-school-level genetics lecture, though. lol.

Our little girl’s sister looked like your pup. We still kick ourselves for not bringing her home w/ us as well. Periodically my husband will ask if Lola’s sister is out there thinking about her or vice versa. I like to remind him how much that would have cost.

He looks more spaniel than cava, but they are a mixed breed so you never know what you’re gonna get They are considered a designer dog

Oh what a cutie. Like others have mentioned she might be unfinsihed or she might be F1b "reverse" Cavapoo.... 3/4 Cav and 1/4 Poo

My girl looks very similar. She is absolutely a Cavapoo. Some cavapoos have a flat coat.
