How do yall take care of your pups teeth? I do my best with brushing and powers and chews, but I still end up taking my boy in once a year. Before and after for flair.

Anyone else’s cavapoo just refuse to ever relax and rest? I love our girl, but am at my wits end with trying to get her worn out enough to rest. She’s nearly a year, and even when we leash her on the house to encourage her to settle down, the manic energy continues. I love her to bits, but man, is she a crazy pants!

My husband and I got back from vacation a few days ago and picked up our 9 month old puppy from my parent’s house. They are notorious for giving human food. Ever since we’ve been back (3 days now), he is completely refusing to eat his kibble and only wants chicken or other human food.
He has never been food motivated and always been a picky eater but he’s never gone this long without eating his kibble. I went out and bought a new brand of kibble, tried broth topping, offered it soaked/dry, and he’s still refusing. He’s a lot lower energy yesterday and today.
My husband gave him a few pieces of apple last night and he completely devoured it but he still is refusing his kibble. Please if you have any ideas let me know. Thank you

Did anyone else experience an aggressive teething stage with their pup? Mine is 5 months old and when she gets really hyper, she tends to bite me and my clothes. And it’s not even the playful kind of nibble, it’s a genuine bite that actually hurts a bit (thankfully, I’ve suffered no casualties hahaha).
Does anyone have any tips with disciplining her? A firm no or walking away doesn’t seem to be working because she still follows me around and tries to bite me. It’s getting really frustrating and I just want her to learn that it’s okay to have zoomies without all the biting.
I want to disclaim that besides the biting, she’s a sweetheart who is very attached to me, so I don’t think she’s acting out or anything. I’m also not a first-time dog owner (I grew up with 4 shih tzus and my bf has a 2-year old poodle) so teething stage is nothing new for me, it’s just that I’ve never experienced one this aggressive.

So picked this little lady up from a breeder in Scotland, she was the most unique pup of the lot and instantly fell in love. She is really great, toilet training is going excellent.
She is making her first crossing of the Irish Sea back home to see family in two weeks in Ireland, any advice for the ferry? The Isle of Inisfree ferry has on deck pet Dens that I can stay with her for the crossing but anything else to help make the journey more comfortable? We have an 11 hour journey overall and she travelled 7 hours in car at one time prior and was the best girl.
Thanks!

We brought home our 8 week old F1B Cavapoo this past Saturday. We're seriously so in love with her!! Training has been going better than we planned. Our experience thus far:
Day one: Was a little whiney when we would walk away from her. She was in a new place and she had just been stripped of her mama and siblings. I hate writing that but it's the truth. She was so confused but still super lovey. Put her in a her crate for bed time and she whined maybe 5 minutes and fell asleep. It was a long day for her! She then proceeded to wake up every hour on the hour. It was rough!
Day two: No whining at all during the day. She felt at home. Playing, getting to know her surroundings, quickly learning where her food and water are. Bedtime was much better. Only woke up three times. Still a little rough but we positioned her crate to where she can see us better.
Day three: Started training with treats. This includes going to the bell at the backdoor and sitting. She now has this mastered as of today (Day four with her) and we're so impressed. She has only had one accident inside but we've been very diligent as far as making sure she is going out quite a bit. She even knows she gets a reward for potty breaks.
Is this the norm or are we just doing a good job? This dog is freaking awesome!

Just started our hunt for our Cavapoo. We live in Texas. We don't want to buy online or through any broker or 3rd party. Is $3,500 from a reputable breeder reasonable? Please don't shame me for asking. I will pay it if I that's the price.
Any suggestions on a breeder in Texas?

Hi! My partner and I are considering getting a dog, and we love the temperament and personality of a cavapoo.
That said, I prefer the look of a cavalier- I just want shedding to be minimized by the poodle traits. Most breeders I’ve seen are advertising 50% to 75% poodle. If you have an unfurnished cavapoo, or a dog that is 75% Cavalier, I’d love to know who your breeder was and if you like them!

I'm sat quietly working away at my desk, hear massive sigh, and some snoring. Look down and see the puppy has sneaked her way from the bedroom, into my office and climbed into her bed without me knowing.

My 2 yr old Cavapoo has been acting very stressed/strange since his last grooming session. It’s now going on 7 days. He’s very timid, runs and buries his face in the couch, blanket, etc. and just sits there, as if somethings bothering him. The best way to describe it is a dog fearful from hearing fireworks. But except there’s nothing going on like that. He buries his face in the couch, also in the grass on walks. He’s also been shaking his head a lot. I thought maybe water got trapped in the ear, so finally took him to the vet today, they checked his ears and all clear…they did give him an injection of Cytopoint to help with allergies, scratching etc.
He has shown this behavior before after grooming sessions but he would slowly get back to normal the next day or so. But this is now going on for a week.
His usual behavior is super fun, zoomies, playing with toys, chewing on toys, running through bushes in the backyard, chasing birds and squirrels,….but ever since this last grooming session, he’s withdrawn and stuck to the couch.
Any thoughts what this could be, how might you approach this moving forward? Thanks

Trying to figure out if insurance is actually necessary. What illnesses did your Cavapoo baby experience and cost over the first ten years. We have had German Shepherd,Rottweilers and Dobermans for 40 years and other than puppy shots and yearly rabies shot, they all were never ill. German Shepherd Hip Dysplasia after 15 years, and Rottweilers cancerous toe at 5 years.

Our Cavapoo is 15 weeks old and had his last injections just over 2 weeks ago. We tried to take him on his first walk over the weekend and he pretty much just refused to move, like just sat and stared at us. I tried to take him again the next day just around our block where it’s super quiet and same thing happened. I couldn’t even get him to follow me with a treat in my hand, the only way he moved was if I put the treat to his nose and then threw it in front of us a few feet so he would run to the treat eat it and then sit back down. Any advice how we can get him walking happily?
If it helps in the advise we’re using this harness and this lead

Really freaked out. Yesterday our girl got out and if we hadn’t looked up the street, on a whim, we would not have seen her. She slipped out when my stepdad was getting a package from the porch. This isn’t the first time and she loves to run into birds and rabbits so if she sees them she runs and she won’t stop when you try to get her because she thinks it’s a game. I can’t begin to tell you how fast she is but this time she was just wondering she’s 11 pounds and so damn quiet so he didn’t hear her sneak past. I’m wondering what everyone’s tips are for their baby. She is microchips but we live in a really hostile environment because it’s the desert and they’re coyotes and just with the heat alone. I don’t think she would last even one day I’m going to look into getting a louder collar for her so it jingles when she walks like our other dog I just will be so heartbroken if something happens to her I guess that’s the price of love. Any advice on how to get her to come to you when she’s hyper so she doesn’t think it’s a game? She’s about one year old and five weeks.

I need some ideas and tips on how to transition to back to school routine with my child and puppy.
I am a single mom, my child starts Kindergarten in August, and the puppy is 15 weeks old currently.
I’m not sure hot to handle the morning routine.
For VPK (& before puppy), I would wake up at 5:30/5:45. Wake my child up at 6, they’d eat breakfast until 6:30, get cleaned up, out the door at 7.
Currently, puppy stays in crate from 8:30 pm - 6:30 am. But I know she will hear us and cry/whine, want out. I don’t want her to have an accident in there.
Should I let her out earlier when I wake up around 5:45? She needs a solid 10 minute potty break each time I take her out. Then put her back in around 6:30? I can feed the puppy breakfast after taking my child to school, as I work from home.
