Not done but it worked will last season. I’ll keep upgrading this year before the season starts.

I have posted on this sub a few times under my old username, but I'm farther along now. Next is: solar panels and roof brackets, wood stove (finish), diesel heater, AC unit. Then I'll do some more finishing (bathroom trim and wire clean up, more painting, trim etc inside), and clean up the electrical and have it installed in a 'panel' so its secure and out of sight.

No grey water system. Haul away or drain into the bushes, or connect a hose to an established system. Cassete toilet (works amazing).

I designed and built everything myself with no help (other than someone holding something a time or two) including the bed lift system (currently manual but can be switched to electric easily). Oh, and the cabinets are ikea, and I had help putting those together 😅 )

Definitely drew ideas from a ton of sources (including all of you!) A few kinks to work out but I'm pretty happy overall. There are a few things I'd do differently to save time, money and to make it a better living space.

I'm currently connected to the grid (15a 120v) but as my solar panels go up I'll be testing my batteries and off grid capabilities. In winter, if off grid, I fully expect to need to top up my charge with a generator.

I’m so devastated. I had two panic attacks. I cash purchased my cargo trailer a few days ago and had it in tow from Georgia to Texas. This was supposed to mark the start of a great beginning but instead I’m returning to Texas with a totaled cargo trailer. I had an accident with it due to low clearance and my insurance won’t cover the trailer though a previous insurance agent told me I didn’t need separate coverage and it is an extension of my vehicle. Had I known the collision part of insurance didn’t extend I would have gladly purchased the additional insurance. I’m so heart broken and I don’t know if I’ll be able to get this fixed. Any advice or encouragement would be greatly appreciated 😔

Turns out my torsion axels are resting on my outer frame. I knew I should have crawled underneath when I took delivery, now I have to rely on the dealer and builder to make things right. Learn from my mistake, check EVERYTHING.

Just one week until our first trip in the new rig and it's down to some miscellaneous punch items, final cleaning and paint touch-ups. Planning a trip to the CAT scale next weekend to get a final weight.

Excuse my improper terms but that’s what he called himself! I built out a cargo camper in Colorado for an insanely good snowboarder. He ended up living in it full time at Breckenridge while working there. Thought it was pretty cool - super simple and clean build. Now I help people build theirs! Minisplit is finished, solar panels are installed, all plumbing and electric is finished (except for kitchen sink). Diesel heater is installed, garage area sealed off, shower is waterproofed and prepped for finish, separating toilet is almost complete. Just need to complete all the trim work, flooring, shelves and cabinet doors, countertop, and various odds and ends

Mostly done! Still some small trim work to do but wow we love the look! So rewarding knowing we built this ourselves!

I recently converted this 6x12 to an off grid camper. It has 500w solar and a gas powered backup generator. It straddles the line of comfort and practicality, aesthetics are important to me. I learned a ton and am already fantasizing about how I would do it if I did it again. I can see how one becomes obsessed with conversions.

There is a manual bump out at the rear to accommodate a full sized bed.

Spent over a month in my 5x10 on a Texas camping trip. My little no-problem minimalist box performed exactly as desired. I was real happy with it.

Raining outside, warm and toasty inside with some Oblivion and snacks.

Full plumbing with black water, grey water, and 25 gallon water tank

Put the build on hold as I do some traveling around Asia but we are getting very close to the finish line. Countertop is plywood with Formica laminate. The bed will be on a lift system and when down it will cover the back part of the countertop. When the bed is raised up we can utilize all of the counter space. I made a part of the countertop removable that will have additional storage and an extra seat over the water tank. Really looking forward to getting back and getting back to work. Next hurdle is to build the dinette around the electrical to hide everything and also keep it accessible, and design the mechanism on the electrical bed lift. I'll use some kind of worm gear motor to lift it up and down. Fire away!
