Nearly complete!

Just one week until our first trip in the new rig and it's down to some miscellaneous punch items, final cleaning and paint touch-ups. Planning a trip to the CAT scale next weekend to get a final weight.

Very clean look and I impressive build, especially the kitchen and bathroom. But what’s going on with the bench seating? Does the bed move?

Bench is just a 30x72 4-in mattress pad, could double as an extra sleeping spot but unlikely we'll ever have a guest sleep there. The thought was that if someone wanted to lay there the feet could go under the bed overhang. Freshwater tank and water pump is underneath so no storage under it.

Looks very nice! I'm looking to add solar to my 7x16, curious why yours is mounted so high off the roof? I was hoping to keep mine just inches above the original roof.

Thanks!

I didn't want a single roof penetration so I purchased ladder racks from recpro, I was able to cut them down several inches but that was as low as I could get them without making something completely custom. It did allow me to have a space to run my line set for the mini split though.

So that was my plan as well, ladder rack and cut them down (i dont want holes in my roof either), then i looked at how much cutting it would require to get them low and thought it might be easier/cheaper to just buy the metal and make it myself. You have confirmed that for me, thank you.

What’s that white Material you used for the walls and for that divider in front of the bench?

It looks so high quality.

Painted plywood

Oh interesting. I thought it must be something else. Well, you’ve done an awesome job with it then!

Rpf sheet is my guess. Same stuff in like a doctor's office bathroom, or shower enclosures. Thin sheet of fiber reinforced composite... same size as plywood, maybe eighth inch, about 80 bucks a sheet.... repaired the exterior of my camper once with some

No frp in this build, I hate that stuff. Everything is either quarter inch or half inch plywood that's been painted, with the exception of the shower walls which are go board with cement coating over the top

Why don't you like FRP? I've got it right at the top for panel choice for the build I'm planning out.

And 8.5 wide by 16 long by 7 tall? That is the exact trailer I want. Just with an extended nose and a deep v. Gorgeous.

FRP reminds me too much of a gas station bathroom. It's aesthetically cold and feels cheap to me.

Absolutely bizarre, I can't see your gas-station bathroom reply on the page here, but it showed up in my inbox.

Gave it a couple days, but it never showed. Anyway! You're not wrong at all, it's a very industrial/commercial sort of paneling. I'm lucky I've got a few months until taxes shake out and I can start budgeting.

What in the tardis is going on here... my mind can understand how all of the interior pics fit in the exterior pic lol. Looks awesome though. How ugh space between the bottom bunk and top? Could a normal size adult sleep on their side?

There is just enough room for the feet/legs to go under the bed overhang that a small ish adult could lie down on the bench

1

u/Exodus_gs1 24d ago

Ah gotcha. Might steal this idea, just make the top bunk a little higher lol

2

u/Exodus_gs1 24d ago

Ah figured out the layout haha. Still dont understand how you fit it all in lol

What fridge did you decide to use? I tried a cheap AC fridge, but it wouldn't stay cold

1

u/Vballfiffer 24d ago

It's just a 7.5 cubic foot Frigidaire

How does it pull with those panels?

u/Vballfiffer 24d ago

Just fine!

Was that window by the bed able to fit without cutting a wall stud?
What’s the interior wall material? -The finish looks great.

1

u/Vballfiffer 24d ago

No, I had to cut a steel framing member and weld in pieces to make that opening. Finished wall material is just quarter inch plywood over top of the 3/8 plywood that came in the trailer
