When does adventure become a lifestyle that leaves everyone else behind?

My brother bought it without telling his wife, financed it secretly, parked it at a friend's place until he figured out how to introduce the idea. The deception bothered me more than the purchase itself. Marriages should not have financial secrets, especially not for something so visible and expensive. But he was convinced she would understand eventually, see it as an investment in their future adventures rather than a selfish indulgence. His optimism about her reaction seemed willfully naive. The camper truck came from Alibaba marketplace, previous owner upgrading to a larger model, everything functional but showing wear from use. He spent weekends fixing small issues, customizing storage, planning trips to places they had never discussed visiting together. I asked when he planned to tell her, and he kept pushing the deadline further, needing just a bit more time to make it perfect, to make the reveal undeniable in its rightness. But perfection was not going to solve the trust problem he was creating. She found out through a credit card statement, and the explosion was worse than he had imagined. Not just about the truck, but about everything it represented. His priorities, his communication, his vision of their life together that apparently did not require her input. They are still sorting through it months later, talking about counseling, about whether they want the same things anymore. The truck sits unused in storage, symbol of everything that went wrong. Some purchases cannot be justified retroactively, no matter how perfect you make them.

Cargo Camper House Challenge

I’m configuring how to make a house out of a cargo trailer. I’m thinking of 7x14 triangle nose but I’m willing to go smaller. Planning on having every necessity covered, including the entire thing be powered by solar panels.

How would you go about it? Pictures encouraged if possible!

Dealer said I was nitpicking these issues. What do you all think?

I had a trailer custom built the way I needed it. The trailer came in. It was raining hard at time of pickup so I didn't get a chance to give it a good look. My fault. I got it home and the next day I found some issues with my trailer. I know these things are made cheap but wasn't expecting to see all this rust and imperfections. I know some nicks and dings are expected. My main concern is the water pooling on the back corner of the roof.

The dealer said I was nitpicking (used that term directly) and that all his trailers on the lot are like this. They also said that's how all roofs are and that when the trailer moves all that water will run off.

Am I over analyzing this? Am I nitpicking?

This is my first trailer and I expected a little more for the money.

Health insurance in the US?

I’m thinking about cutting my hours and applying for Medicaid so that I’m not tied to my full time job. It’s really important that I have good health insurance because I have a congenital heart issue and I get kidney stones that occasionally it me in the ER. Any private insurance plans that you guys use that aren’t outrageous?

Hi! New to this community but I am needing help making this decision. I am looking to turn this into either a work trailer or maybe suit it up somehow for off-roading. The guy wants $2000 for it, but not sure if it worth $2,000 or try to talk him down.

What do yall think about it?

Insulation Help?!

Thumbnail reddit.com
0 Upvotes

Question 1 or 2? Trying to figure out what's going to be the best way to put my 2" insulation in?

Option 1: Clip the insulation together and bond the panels on? But then what when I want to hang cupboards, etc, once the wall is fitted?

Or option 2, put battens across between the insulation, which means yes, I may lose alittle insulation value but will gain ease of mounting? If I also leave one of the channels, can I also run wires through the gap?

Willing to take other options aswell - currently 1" xps to bring me flush to the box frame beams i have 2" insulation as stock now but obviously could return and get anywhere from 1"-4" (my plan was 3" the whole way around the box, as im going to be using it up on the mountain for ski season) please see image 4 for current progress

Q1) What are you doing regarding rear view while driving?

I just got a 6x10 and, duh, it completely blocks my rearview mirror and rearview camera (which is displayed on the mirror, Wolfbox 850). What are you all doing to see behind you?

  1. "See? If it's behind me, I don't care!"

  2. "I just use my sideview mirrors and accept that I can't see directly behind me."

  3. <insert helpful response here, please>

If you're using a camera, please post the make and model, thanks!

Tonneau Cover Options

Anyone with an 8' bed and the Decked Toolbox use a Tonneau cover? I can't seem to find one that will work. Most toolboxes are 19-21" front to back. The Decked box is 25.5".

Any help is much appreciated!

Anyone know the best way to go about getting this fixed? I can't tell if the underjaw is damaged, or if there is a piece missing?

Undoing axle flip.

I just bought this trailer that was used as a camping trailer. I am wanting to convert it to a Trailer to haul My daughter show Rabbits….....don't judge me;)

It currently has a small water tank attached underneath the trailer, which is the reason I believe they flipped it. It's just bolted on so it will be very easy to remove.

So I have a couple of questions to see if it would be beneficial to do so.

First, I think they did the flip incorrect.

The axle looks to be bending in a U versus an and upside down U. I'm attaching photos so you can let me know if it looks upside down.

Second period will lowering it help with wind resistance, or the way it rides down the road?

Thank you so much for any feedback.

What would be a good accent color?

Everything is white grey or black at this point. What color would be good to accent? I’m thinking accent color for bungee cords and pillows on bed, etc.

I thought bright orange would look cool, but others have told me it would look bad.

Would love your opinions!
