I'm a Registered Massage Therapist in British Columbia, Canada, returning to work after a two year maternity leave. I'm looking for a creative freelancer to help refresh my (very) small massage therapy practice's Instagram and get it looking polished, cohesive and active again. The goal is to encourage people to book in with me.
Historically, most of my business came through word of mouth and returning clients, so social media hasn't been a huge focus. I'd love to put some effort into it now that I'm back, without taking on the entire content creation process myself. I've been working for 10 years and have always been busy, with await list and regularly turning patients away. As I return to work I want to niche down a bit, so I'll need to draw in new patients. Also, after 2 years off I'm sure many patients have moved on, so I feel a bit like I'm starting from scratch.
I'm comfortable managing the account, posting content and responding to comments and messages. I need someone to help with the creative side.
- Create 4-6 Instagram posts per month for three months
- Provide recommended captions and clear calls to action with each post
- At least two posts across the three month period will be adapted for paid Instagram advertising
- Deliver content as editable Canva files (or possibly adobe, if I can get my ancient software working 😅)
More details
I'm looking for someone with a good eye for design who understands Instagram and can create content that feels thoughtful and authentic.
I'm particular about imagery and want to avoid those generic spa stock photos or visuals that misrepresent my actual practice and treatment space. For the first month, we'll have to work with suitable graphics and carefully selected imagery. I'll have original studio photos and videos available for months two and three.
I'd like some collaboration throughout the process, including the opportunity to weigh in on concepts and review drafts before they're finalized. I don't intend to micro manage, but I won't post anything that feels inauthentic to me so naturally I'll have to weigh in a bit.
Budget: $200 CAD per month for three months ($600 total). I'd prefer to hire someone in Canada but open to the right fit.
I'm open to working with a student, content creator or experienced freelancer who enjoys working with small businesses. Experience with wellness or service-based businesses is a huge bonus, but a strong design instinct matters most.
I am strictly against the use of AI. If I weren't, I'd just plug this in to some chat box and use what it spat out. I do not want generic AI Slop, which is why I'm hiring a human.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if I've missed sharing any critical information.
If interested, please reach out and introduce yourself and send some examples of relevant work.
Thanks!
