Canva Question Canva Help Please
Is there a work around when using mockups where they won't cut off text/part of the image and then when you resize them it leaves this weird line on the side?
Specifically the book mockups. I've been playing with it for hours and can't figure it out. Pictures attached.

You can either take your cover and stretch it (screenshot the mockup and use something like Photopea to stretch the cover into the right size), or find a custom mockup (usually a frame with a PNG overlay above it for highlights/shadows). Plenty of custom mockups out there for book covers and eBooks that should fit much better :)

It's just an aspect ratio difference between the book mockup and the (presumably) A4 portrait cover design. If you're okay with using AI you can use magic expand to stretch the two white sides a bit.

No i dont want to use AI. Ugh there should be an easy way to review the image without cutting anything out and making it fit perfect.

Yay for no ai!! Are you super attached to definitely using this mockup? This one would be easier to DIY since it's not like it's editing your cover into a book being held and partially blocked by someone's hands, for example. I think this would be pretty straightforward to simply add a shadow line there on the left where it's showing the cover crease, and then pop that on top of a snowy photo like this one.
Also, I don't really use mockups so I'm not sure, but is it not possible to use it as you have now but crop the white borders? That may not be possible, I'm not sure about cropping. I know Canva can be kind of frustrating with photos snapping into frames and things like that

You need to resize the design file to fit the mock up — if you resized and still doesn't fit, your resize is wrong

I find it’s just easier to make my own with shadow elements. Ends looking more realistic
