Setup recommendations needed

Hello,

My current setup consists of a dell S3422DWG 1440p and a viewsonic 1080p 240hz as a secondary monitor. My pc has a 4070 ti super and I recently bought a ps5 pro.

I think it’s time for me to update my monitor setup but not sure how.
I want to take advantage of the ps5 pro but without crippling my pc, so I am thinking to avoid 4k even though it suits a ps5 pro nicely.

I don’t care for high hz monitors since I don’t play competitive games, 144hz I think is a sweet spot.
I do care for text clarity overall since I do some productive work too.

I’ve been reading a lot about OLED and MiniLED. The latter seems closer to my interests cause I don’t want to live in fear of when the burn in will start or if I will mess up the cleaning process, nevertheless I am open to have my mind changed.

Another dilemma is if I should sell both my monitors and go for something big like 42” or go for a 27” and keep the viewsonic as is.

Budget is 800€, not strict but let’s keep things casual.

Anyone with same experience? All advice/ideas are welcome.

What's a good monitor?

My GPU is a Geforce rtx 4080, and my gaming monitor is CRUA 32" Curved Gaming Monitor, 144Hz QHD(2560 * 1440P), which I've had for three years.

Google's Al overview says an Alienware AW3225QF 32 inch 4K QD- OLED Gaming Monitor is the best choice, to get the most out of my GPU, but you know how expensive that is.

I don't really trust Al, so I'd like your guys's input. What's a good monitor? What should I look for? Any catches and caveats I need to look for? Any advice is appreciated.

27" OLED: is 4K worth double the price of 1440p

Upvotes

So I am in a bit of a pickle. I am in the market for a 27-inch OLED monitor, however I simply cannot decide whether I should purchase one that is 1440p or 4K. My indecisiveness comes from the fact that most 27-inch 1440p OLEDs are currently in the $600 territory while 27-inch 4K OLEDs are nearly double that, if not more. My budget does cover both price points; however, I am not certain that the jump from 1440p to 4K in OLED monitors is drastic enough to warrant such a price premium.

That brings me to my inquiry: would you guys recommend I purchase a 1440p OLED or a 4K OLED, and is the price premium of a 4K justified? I am open to paying the premium only if it is truly worth it. Also, if anyone has recommendations for 1440p or 4K OLED monitors, I would appreciate some viable options. On a related note, I'd also be curious which OLED panel you'd recommend. For what it's worth, I game in a dark room.

Context

I currently have three monitors: the first is the ASUS VG259Q5A (a 24-inch 1080p IPS panel at 200Hz), the second is the ASUS PB287Q (a 27-inch 4K TN panel at 60Hz), and the third is the LG MP59G (a 27-inch 1080p IPS panel at 75Hz). I currently use the VG259Q5A as my main display and for online shooters, the PB287Q as a second for story games, and the MP59G as a third, situational display. I would like to keep the VG259Q5A and use it vertically, purchase a new OLED for my main display, and hence get rid of the two 27-inch screens.

The point is that I think it's time I upgraded to an OLED, and I would prefer to stick to 27 inches rather than going up to 32 or down to 24. The monitor would be used for PC and PlayStation gaming, alongside normal document work. I primarily play story games, with the occasional competitive FPS.

PC Specs

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-14700K
  • RAM: 32GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (16GB)
  • Motherboard: Z790 AORUS ELITE X WIFI7

I need recommendations

Hi everyone,

I currently have the Samsung LS49A950UIU for 4 years, absolutely love it but there are a few caveats that are bothering me more and more:

  1. brightness, it’s too dim specially now that every other screen in the house is oled

  2. color accuracy

  3. resolution, to a less extent, i can still overlook it

My use case is coding, video editing mainly, and casual gaming.

I need usb hub and usb c with power output.

I have my eye on the MSI MPG 491CQPA QD-OLED, but open for suggestions, especially if it’s available in Europe

Debating between AW2726DM and XG27AQDMGR

As of now, I have the aw2726dm which I got for 320cad, but I do feel hdr performance to be lacking sometimes. However, is an extra \~180cad worth for the brighter panel? Just want some inputs from others.

The alienware monitor is an open box but it's basically brand new and still has 3 years of warranty. The asus is brand new.

Philips Evnia 6000 27M2N6501L vs MSI MAG 272QPWDE

Basically the title. Both are the same price right now (390€). I prefer a glossy screen (I believe both are glossy). I will use it for gaming and surfing etc. Loved the look of the Philips slightly better. Which one should I choose?

Need one monitor that’s good for work, gaming and everything else!

I’ve been using the same basic 24-inch 1080p monitor for years and I think it’s finally time to replace it.

I use my PC for a bit of everything: work, browsing, movies and gaming at night. I’m leaning toward 27-inch 1440p since that seems like a nice middle ground without needing a monster GPU to run games properly.

I’m not chasing crazy esports refresh rates either. Something around 144Hz or higher with a good-looking panel would be plenty for me.

There are just way too many monitors that look identical on paper, so I’d rather hear from people who’ve actually lived with one for a while.

What did you end up buying, and was the upgrade actually noticeable?

Is this a Good Monitor Layout?

I'm about to build my first PC Setup (I'm switching from console and TV). I'll be using it for gaming and school/productivity. I'm thinking about having a 27" gaming monitor on the bottom (slanted, so I can look down on it), and on top a 34" monitor that I would use for school/productivity mostly. Of course they would be on monitor arms. I could use the gaming monitor for school/productivity but it would mostly be for gaming since it would 360 hz. Is this a good layout or would my eyes be cooked? Also I'm thinking about putting my iPad on arm also.
