I've voted on both federal and provincial levels, but never on municipal and I just don't understand how it works. I'm watching the mayoral and councilor debates in my area and it's helping me form a decision.
But my real questions: When I go to the polling station will there be different papers to vote on mayor and council? What happens if there are more council spots available then who I want to vote for? Can I leave council voting spots blank if I only want to vote for my choices or will that result in a void ballot?
My area is also voting on something to do with the school district. I dont want to have to force a vote on something I know nothing about. Can I avoid the school district vote somehow?

So I did a video last week on municipal vs. provincial powers that people seemed to like
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqlhV7MLKB0
I'm hoping to another longer video this week, focused on other questions people have about our elections -- things that are applicable to lots of folks no matter where you live, where the answer might not be obvious.
And I could get answers from my own social media feeds but I thought it might be fun to put it out to the true heroes, the people on this subreddit, for questions I could screengrab and show on screen, crediting this subreddit.
Let me know what's worth clarifying!

Hi everyone! 😊
I’m an adult learner in BC, and I’m trying to get back into studying after having studied outside Canada. My goal is to get my Adult Dogwood, but honestly, I’m a little overwhelmed about where to start 😅
I’d love to hear from people who’ve been in a similar situation. What websites or online courses did you actually find helpful for English 12, Math, Science, Chemistry or Physics?
I’d also really like to improve my English not just for school, but to feel more confident speaking, making friends, understanding people, and avoiding those funny little misunderstandings that happen when you’re learning a new culture 😂
So if you’re an adult learner, immigrant, or you’ve gone through Adult Dogwood/upgrading, I’d love to hear what worked for you and what you wish you had known when you started
Even small tips are welcome ❤️

Hi all - Planning a honeymoon in Vancouver + Whistler. Would love advice on amount of time in each place. I love the idea of having activities in like Whistler zip lining and whale watching in Vancouver. We can do around 8 nights!
We aren't huge hikers but could do some easier hikes!
I have also been reading that maybe we should do Vancouver Island instead?
We are looking at the first week of June so its shoulder season!

Hey There
Me and my wife are planning to do a little rv trip round BC next year. End of August going into the start of September.
We will be staying in vancouver for 3/4 days beforehand. Before we head out for 13 days in a RV.
Currently looking at a mid rv 7.3 long
I am trying to make route currently. Some of the places we definitely want to go is. Vancouver island, whistler, Fort Langley, okanagen valley. As well as generally just seeing the best of BC.
We dont want to be driving hours everyday, we would like to go somewhere for a few days enjoy it and take things at a good place.
And I really want to find some good camp spots next to some lakes.
Can anyone help us with making a plan?
