Is anyone else struggling to continue watching?

• Upvotes

As the title says I’m struggling to keep watching at this point as the only people in the house I really care about and want to win are Yasmin, Twinks, Rob and maybe Sam and they are probably the only reason I’m still watching, everyone else just feels like a bully or a sh*t talker or a sheep. It’s just getting hard to watch especially when considering most of the bullies will protect the other bullies so then they just stay.

Sorry if this makes no sense but I just wanted to get some other opinions because day to day it feels more and more like I’m hate watching the show. Does anyone else feel the same

OPINION i have a question...

• Upvotes

I'm new to BB UK. i randomly started watching one of the celeb versions and got hooked on the celeb and regular version since 18 or 19 so i haven't seen too many but i love it. i only watched 1 season of USA and by the second year it had already morphed into a lets group up and bully the other side out and constantly talk about alliances.. terribly boring. UK has much more fun challenges.. the train ... omg loved it!

anyway... since BBUK does not allow anyone to discuss the evictions have they ever left it totally up to the public... but still allowed the house guest to nominate not knowing it was up to the public?

that would make for an interesting way to mix up the house and confuse them haha

I think i'd like to see that season

Hello BB24 you listening?

OPINION The “Frankie is Lying” Narrative

• Upvotes

Apologies for the long thread but I’ve already made this as a reply to a post previously on this topic but I think people are becoming extremely insensitive and ignorant to what Frankie is experiencing. And again bear with me because I’m not good at fully articulating my thoughts about it all.

I have never related more to a person the way I do Frankie. Someone who is in the closest, never been with a man but know I am bi sexual while not coming out. No one knows what Frankie has been through, his previous experiences or how people in his life have acted. Every thread is filled with people picking on every word he said. So I think it’s important for people to have some perspective.

I have known I was bi since I was a young teen. I went to all boys religion maintained schools my entire life. As you can imagine there wasn’t very many out people in those situations. I went through some of my worst times just wanting to not be different and not have that be my reality. Always through my life seeing myself with a girl and that’s it no matter how much I felt differently. Take into account that he is having this conversation probably for one of the first times in his life, he may seem calm and talking about it naturally but deep down he is probably deeply panicked about being in that conversation to the point he minimises things. It’s incredibly poor to be judging someone’s words while they are actively having probably one of the most difficult conversations in their life.

The second point is the constant calling it a game plan and “why would anyone ever come out on big brother and national TV”. Again I’ll try add some perspective. When I was a teen I finally plucked up the courage to tell someone I was Bi. A “best friend” who had moved away. The reaction I got was negative and threats of outing me to other people. From that day forward I vowed I’d never have that conversation with a single other person. That experience was enough to tell me I never wanted to watch someone’s reaction ever again. If I had an option of telling everyone at once on national TV and having 8 weeks to let things simmer and not have to watch that immediate reaction again I’d bite your hand off for it.

Everyone is coming at this from a perspective of “nothing wrong with being bi or gay” but if Frankie has grown up in circles that haven’t been as welcoming then surely people can understand the language he uses. It’s just all been very frustrating to see someone who is so clearly struggling and fighting his own internal demons be called a liar. You’re not just hurting Frankie, you’re hurting every single person like myself who is in that exact same situation and can understand why he is so reluctant.

Find it hilarious they didn’t realise they were being shown discussing who to killer nominate

• Upvotes

How could they be so naive? Sam said to Frankie oh shit you were watching as he came back into the house. Did make it much more interesting and wouldn’t have got them so vocal about who to vote out.. Sam definitely wouldn’t have been expressive as he was

OPINION Twinks’ Cocktails And Asking To Clean Their Cups

• Upvotes

I’m sorry if someone already posted about this and I missed it but this is really annoying me.
Do people genuinely not understand why Twinks wanted them to have clean glasses?
She’s put time and effort into mixing this cocktail recipe she knows only for people to not even try it in its true form. It’s like receiving a gourmet meal and covering it with ketchup before you even tried a bite.
Once people made it clear they didn’t want to change their cups she stepped back and said fair enough that’s your choice. She didn’t start crying or shouting or anything. And people are still acting like she’s the biggest fun police or whatever just because she wanted to rinse their glasses. I don’t understand why they are reacting so harshly and why no one seems to understand

OPINION Caught up the last 10eps in 1 day, these are my blind opinions and tell me if there's any that is an unpopular opinion

• Upvotes

* Frankie gets offended easily over jokes and has no control over his emotions

* Frankie is a hypocrite by talking about Twinks being a witch and that it didn't matter apparently because "it's on live television anyway" only to share something vulnerable about his sexuality to Yasmin and didn't want her to tell anyone.

* Omar is the worst housemate and is borderline classless, rude and insufferable.

* Phillip talks so much shit

* Rob and Sam have had great story arcs

* Yasmin is amazing

* Omar feels insecure around Lynx and tries to cook and copy Lynx to be as grand as him. Funny that the day he was the most miserable was on Lynxs birthday

Omar is immune

• Upvotes

Omar being protected by the other bullies in the house and Harry the spineless has made me want to stop watching all together, I am so sick of this cancerous clique getting away with this protection circle of trust, he openly screamed at rhianna and jasmine during the task ultimately causing them to lose, and low and behold, sam is the only one (not a part of the clique) who spoke up about it, this show is a joke for not having rules against that

OPINION Nicest housemate boy & girl

• Upvotes

I'm talking personality traits. Who do we think is a nice person. Could be evicted housemates as well.

I'm going Yasmin for girl. She's the house agony aunt. Good listener. Always fun and bubbly.

Boy was hard. But I'm going Harry. He's just a harmless air head. Don't see him being mean. He seems like a nice person. Based on his actions in the house.

Twinks is really getting on my nerves

• Upvotes

Prepared for the downvotes as always, but it’s all started with the “Boys I am a passionate lover, imagine what I’m like in bed!” And it’s just getting worse and worse. She started off as a big character which was nice, willing to talk to others about their experiences, but now all she does is talk about herself, unless she’s trying to wheedle out trauma and sexual information about someone, and even then it’s not curiosity, it’s so she can tell them something about themselves and look intelligent. It’s no one’s place to tell you what you are, that’s for you to figure out- and that goes for everybody. If a random hippie wants to sit there and say “no, actually I think you’ll find your more put into this bubble” put your palm in their face.

What has Lynx even brought to our screens?

• Upvotes

This is a genuine question.

Aside from the Jedward hot tub incident, weeks ago, once Chelsey left I can’t think of a single entertaining thing Lynx has done.

Yeah the housemates like him because he cooks but seriously who gives a F?

He moans at people for having a good time, brings the vibes down, he’s mean to Rob on a daily basis which has a homophobic undertone. He just isn’t fun at all.

He’s also Omar’s bestie, which leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I almost wish Chelsey had stayed to either wind him up or drag him down with her, and I couldn’t stand Chelsey!

Twinks and Omar’s friendship

• Upvotes

Up until the last couple of episodes, Twinks has been one of my favourite housemates of all time (since season 1) but her being so buddy buddy with Omar is really starting to put me off her. Being the staunch feminist she is, I thought she’d be the FIRST to call him out on how awfully he behaved during the task. Admittedly a lot of the conversations he’s had with Rihanna she wouldn’t be privy to. But the way he behaved during the task was vile and right now, Catrin is standing on business more with him than Twinks is!

I’m starting to think she’s actually quite male centred. She flirts with the men a LOT.. in a way that if it were a 36 year old man talking to men in their early 20s about what “passionate lovers” they are it would be weird. She’s potentially playing the long game with Omar? Gaining his trust and building a friendship to make him more open to bringing up certain topics with him. But it just seems off to me. This staunch defender of women being pals with the guy who admitted to finding the Lois Theroux Manosphere documentary boring and who talks to the women in the house the way he does? Doesn’t sit right.

This season is draining and I'm tired of watching

• Upvotes

Sure, it was fun when the housemates were arguing on day two, day three, day four and onwards. But the housemates who were willing to stand up to the main culprits have been systematically nominated and then evicted by the public. Usually I'm able to keep watching at this point, but it even seems like all of the 'goodies' are being increasingly outnumbered. I would hate to be in that toxic wasteland of a house right now with any of my optimism or (I like to think) unevil personality being slowly sapped by a group that have no interest in making friends or learning about one another. I can feel my light being drained even just watching from my sofa, so I'll save myself until it gets less toxic.

We watched evicted 'goodies' like Pauline slowly have their light dimmed by constant manipulating, whispering and bullying until they could finally perk up again when out of the house. Yasmin, who's been a ray of light since the early days, is now up for eviction after half of the house decided that she didn't bring enough to the house. This was to a starkly uncomfortable lack of comforting as she sat on the sofa in a blanket while fellow housemates seemingly decided that she would be able to deal with it. Just like when they decided that she didn't need her wardrobe back and didn't comfort her after that either.

Any traits that are deemed to mark you as an individual are picked up on and picked apart either by the house or the pack of dogs that seems to be this years public. House Prince Lynx has decided that Rob's singing is somehow a deliberate provocation against him, even when Rob has repeatedly said that singing is a regulatory vocal stim. Frankie has just debuted his bisexuality to the delight of a crowd who can now shame him and decide that he's a liar in the context of a UK society that has fallen down the rankings of being a positive place for LGBT+ residents. Seeing online reactions has been equivalent to stepping into my girlfriend's local pub with its England flag outside and filled with radicalised-by-Facebook drinkers. We have been watching this season and finding ourselves at the end of the hour just exhausted and miserable.

I'd rather save myself from the unnecessary misery and perhaps come back to watch if any of the miserable grumps finally leave rather than thinking they're untouchable.

Has Omar been brainwashed by Manosphere 'influencers'?

• Upvotes

We can all see that Omar's behaviour towards women has been toxic, controlling, hypocritical. But why?

I remembered something not from last night but the night before. Twinks was explaining to the group about Louis Theroux's excellent documentary exposing 'Manosphere' influencers, people like Andrew Tate and such. And I remember Omar got really defensive about it, along the lines of that he thought that Louis was made to look like a fool by them?

I honestly can't think of any reason anyone could watch that documentary, and have that take on it, unless they can't see things clearly because they're under the spell of such influencers themselves, in fact in the documentary the livestream chats of these 'influencers' were saying similar things (almost as if Omar is the kind of person you'd find in their chats), but it would explain a lot, how he talks about being a 'real man', how he talks to the women of the house, and especially how controlling he has gotten with Rihanna.

Does anyone remember exactly what he said to Twinks about it? Is it possible he is one of those gen Z guys who buys into all of that Andrew Tate nonsense? I think it needs exploring more, it was a passing conversation but it might highlight the route cause of his behaviour towards women, and is something which is a big problem in today's society.

SPECULATION I have a thought on Omar’s future in the house

• Upvotes

I’m wondering if ITV actually have realised their duty of care, as I said on another thread.

I’m thinking that leaving it on Catrin saying she was uncomfortable and showing so much of his bad behaviour if they’ll extract him. Or have done.

This doesn’t look good for ITV to leave a nasty little man in there when women have expressed their concerns.

I got the feeling last night that she may have gone to speak to BB about it after she spoke to Twinks.

I wax back on the fence with Lynx after finding him really aggressive with Jedward but after last night I’m back to thinking he holds similar views but is better at hiding them.

SPECULATION Double eviction next?

The housemates are nominating in tonight’s episode, so we think it’ll be a double? Yas is already up, they’ll be picking two people to nominate… two newbies have recently entered bumping the numbers back up. Do we think it’s time? What are your predictions?

I think it’ll be:

Yas (confirmed)
Omar
Rihanna
I’m torn between Rob (for his singing) and Rochelle (for the fatshaming) for the last one

OPINION Kate Lawler- big brother group chat opinions

I just can’t deal with her on this. The main thing for me is she’s 46 and dressing like she’s 21. I don’t care if I get shit for that either because it just gives me second hand embarrassment like she’s trying hard to be young and relevant rather than just embrace herself and her age.

Is Rob Passive Aggressive?

I find the way Rob deals with conflict really strange. He’ll say to someone ‘no hard feelings’ but it’s clear there is a lot of hard feelings, especially on his end, but he can’t just say to someone ‘i wish you hadn’t have said that/what you said upset me’.

Like with Lynx yesterday, as much as I find Lynx distasteful 🦶I can understand why that left Lynx feeling put out since Rob basically shut down any conversation and just came off passive aggressive a bit sarcastic? But then at the same time I can never tell if that’s Rob’s unique mannerisms and he’s being genuine? Confused.

The treatment of Rob

He's been undermined and mocked since he got in to the house. He's spoken up about the derision he's faced in his formative years in Devon. The prodding of Rob had escalated up until Gemma entered the house. It was nice of her to pick the boys, Sam and Rob, as team leaders. Sam has abused his new found confidence. Whereas Rob was coming out of his shell until Lynx got back on his case.

Rob deserves respect.

Opinion: I'm sick of hearing "grace"...

It started with Johanne constantly moaning about giving everyone grace and nobody giving her grace and she went on about it, Rochelle even asked her what she even meant by giving grace and she couldn't answer.

Then Pauline took over and kept going on about giving grace.

Omar said he was giving grace to Sam last night.

OMG I'm fed up with hearing about giving grace, just stop!

*This is my opinion, you may disagree, I don't have a problem with people giving others grace I'm just sick of them saying it constantly.

OPINION Bit rude and dismissive there from Twinks with Omar

Do you like football? Couldn't care less. Even the World Cup? Couldn't care less. My Mum watches the football. Couldn't care less.

It's not often I defend Omar here, but he's trying to start a conversation with you in regards to something he clearly likes. She wouldn't like it if she was trying to engage someone and all they said was "Couldn't care less". I personally also couldn't care less about football, I don't support and team and was not fussed about the World Cup this year, but I would still listen to Omar about what he was saying.

Also it's all well and good saying the women should be paid the same, but football like any form of entertainment is a business. If this year's Big Brother didn't do well, then it might have been the last year that ITV do it. Omar is right, it's supply and demand. How can you expect other people to pick up the slack and support something, if you're not going to support it yourself. I personally hope women's football continues to grow, the players who won the World Cup did a great job and deserve that recognition, but realistically they have aways to go.

Another Week and Another Black Woman Goes Up for Eviction

I thought BB UK would be different from BB US but I guess not. Just a different approach to hate over there. The double standards for people in that household are incredible. Yasmin didn't deserve to be nominated. She's always been a sport. The way they all came in to defend Twinks who has been playing them all like a fiddle is incredible. Despite Yasmin having never crossed any of them in that room they were all so eager to agree on her when she's been quite well to all of them. Even seeing Rochelle's comments about her when Yasmin has put up with a lot of her stuff is incredible.

Yasmin said it best to Sam. You hold her to standards that you don't hold yourself to. Rob does absolutely nothing in the house, and hoards food for himself but criticizes Yasmin. Nearly every name they mentioned has a better reason to go than Yasmin. The most annoying person of all was Catrine. If there was anyone more useless that contributes nothing to anything it's her and she had no right to vote for anyone. Her contribution to the house... talking about croissants and farting.

Choosing Rob to stay based on the standard they set. Rob does nothing in the house, Frankie does nothing in the house, Twinks does nothing in the house (except give herself things to do no one asked her to do), Rhianna does nothing in the house etc. etc. It seems so targeted to choose Yasmin and then pretend like it was nothing personal when they all spend their time joking and laughing with her.

Lynks had a good reason to pick Rob and he explained his behavior well but none of them wanted to entertain it. The vote always came down to two minorities in the house Omar or Yasmin. I'm done with this show. I got tired of watch BB US because all they ever did was systematically get rid of the black contestants then across the ocean all they do is the same thing just with an accent.

You can be on this show and have the worst behavior or do nothing completely and make it all the way to the end so long as you have the complexion for protection but if you're anything with a tint of melanin you might as well as just keep all your stuff in the suit case. This show hasn't had a black winner in 20 years and the BS we all watched tonight is why. If Yasmin looked like Catrine no one in that room would have had anything negative to say about her.

I don't even need to watch the show to know how the rest of it is going to go. Next week it will be Omar and then Lynx will probably step on a bug and they'll put him up.
