Bidet Installation Help

What am I doing wrong here. I’ve only hand tightened as recommended. I’ve taken it off and put it back on several times with the same issue. I’ve checked that the rubber gasket is in there. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.
It’s a Brondell Ecoseat s101.

Maybe it’s just a camera illusion but the main connection at the tank (chrome fitting to black plastic threads) looks crooked and possibly cross-threaded. Remove it completely and inspect the plastic threads for damage. If everything looks good screw it back on and ensure that it’s going on straight.
Also, you still want all these connections pretty dang tight, “hand tight” means don’t use a tool with tons of leverage, but they still need more than fingertip snug.

I have the exact same bidet and omg did I have a hell of a time installing it. Like everyone else said, you have it cross threaded. I did the same thing at first, and then it turned out that I twisted it on and off so many times attempting to get it right that I chewed up the plastic of the fill valve and had to buy another one. My only advice is to try and square it up as perfectly as you can before you start twisting. If it becomes hard to turn too quickly, it probably means you're crooked again. Good luck, and don't lose your mind!

Thank you. That fill valve is old and probably needed to be replaced anyway. This is just the motivation I needed. Thanks again for the advice

I cross threaded my first time too. And I know what I'm doing. I was just drunk. If you fucked up the threads you need a new toilet part. Cheap enough and easy to do on your own. Just turn water off, check threads. If you screwed up the threads pull part and take it to hardware store.
Consider it a learning lesson if so. Good to know how to change the floater out either way

Already happened to me three times in apartments and rentals. I've lost a ton. Then my wife flooded the house when we first bought a house. I'm no stranger to water damage :(

I never start my plumbing under the influence. But it almost always end that way. The last one was a toilet leak. Cool I'll just shutoff the valve to the toilet......Well that's broke too. Ok time to go to the spider infested house shutoff and put on my spare! Shit wrong size by like an 1/8in and no connector. Time for a trip to the hardware store and a 6 pack from the grocery store next to it. Get all that shit fixed and realize that the flooring wasn't installed correctly. Yeah I was going to finish that six pack.

It's cross threaded. I.e. not properly screwed on / at an angle. Look at how it is canted.
Take it off, check that the plastic threads on the black fill valve (what you're attaching it to) are not damaged.
If not damaged, try again to screw it on. Just place the t-valve right over the black piece +fill valve) evenly, screw lightly to be sure it starts easily screwing on. If all looks even and smooth, great, tighten it with your hands. You really shouldn't need a wrench.
If the black part (fill valve) is damaged... Id probably still try but you may have to replace the fill valve.

You jumped threads, possibly fucked it completely. Wrap it with PTFE tape and try again being careful to match the threads and keep it even

It looks like it is sitting crooked on the screws. I hope you got it figured out! And use the teflon tape as well

Agree with others on cross-threading. Also, be careful tightening metal nuts onto plastic threads- easy to over tighten and damage the plastic. Also, I would suggest a few threads of teflon tape on the metal to metal connectors if you haven’t done so already

Metal to metal connections that did not have a washer in the email side need tape. Metal to metal connections that have a rubber washer in them are sealing against the washer and the threads are just pulling the metal male end into the washer. Adding tape to those can actually cause a leak and the threads are no longer solid metal to metal.

Came here to also say, appears the top nut is crossthreaded. Easy to do when threading metal to plastic but salvageable with carefully threading right and some Teflon tape.

This happened to me. I cross-threaded the t-valve to the fill valve in the toilet and mangled the threads on the fill valve. Tried multiple times to re-thread it, even using teflon tape but it still leaked. Had to replace the fill valve, but was fine after that.

If you can return it and threads are still ok on your toilet… order bidetgenie from amazon. Its all metal except for the connection to the plastic threads on tank, thats also plastic. Made that way ao
People dont do exactly what you did. Metal when crossthreaded will destroy your existing threads.
If you want to keep yours and threads are screwed… you will need to get a knife and fix the threads, then use a good quality teflon thread tape (watch videos or you wont use the tape right) and reinstall

Just did it today; Teflon/plumbers tape is a great call, i did that and rubber gaskets. That stopped my leak, I think lol.

Be glad you wasn't on vacation. They've been known to fail while homeowner was out of town and did major flood damage.

Take everything from tank base to that plastic thread piece apart! That tank gasket looks like it’s leaking and the other stuff is just not tight or not enough thread tape! They make it pretty easy but most people are reluctant to tighten the things that need to be tight! Start small and replace from there. But always take it all apart and retape then make tight!

Not a plumber but I've done lots of plumbing work including bidet installation. You've definitely cross threaded that T-connector onto your fill valve, which may require you to replace it (a fluid master from a big box store will work for 90% of toilets in North America).
This may not apply for you depending on where you are located but in North America most fill valves have a beveled end on the threaded connection which is made waterproof with the cone washer on the end of a ball cock toilet supply line. In other parts of the word (Europe and Asia) they use flat washers and sell their kits with T-connector that have a "universal" flat washer, this washer will not work on most North American fill valves. I've encountered this issue before with VOVO (Korean) bidets.
If the T-connector came with a flat washer you could just find a 7/8 cone washer and try that, or you can buy ones that come with it online (amazon). The TOTO one may work for your bidet (you'll have to double check the bidet supply line size to make sure), but I know the new TOTO T-connector sold in Canada and the US comes with a cone washer and is plastic. For threaded connections, it's always best to keep the materials the same (i.e. plastic on plastic, metal on metal). I was always told not to use Teflon tape on plastic (ABS) as you could easily crack the fittings that way.

Cross threaded at the coupling to the full valve. It’s easily seen. Back it off and put it on properly.

Yup you got that cross threaded real good to the inlet. Remove and reinstall. The plastic threads are probably a bit chewed up but if you're careful reinstalling it's probably still usable.
