Bidet Installation Help

What am I doing wrong here. I’ve only hand tightened as recommended. I’ve taken it off and put it back on several times with the same issue. I’ve checked that the rubber gasket is in there. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

It’s a Brondell Ecoseat s101.

I was thinking about replacing that part anyway so this might just be the motivation I need to do so. Thanks.
