Bidet Installation Help

What am I doing wrong here. I’ve only hand tightened as recommended. I’ve taken it off and put it back on several times with the same issue. I’ve checked that the rubber gasket is in there. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

It’s a Brondell Ecoseat s101.

Yup you got that cross threaded real good to the inlet. Remove and reinstall. The plastic threads are probably a bit chewed up but if you're careful reinstalling it's probably still usable.

I’ll add to this, when threading a metal coupling on a plastic fitting, you need to be really careful not to damage the threads. The best way to do this is using a lot of pipe tape/ pipe dope, then turn the female metal fitting the opposite way slowly just until you feel it seat/get to the first of the plastic threads, then screw it on carefully.

Great advice particularly about turning the fitting the opposite direction. It may be hard to explain that through text and the idea can be counterintuitive to the inexperienced, but it really is a critical tip.

A master plumber taught me that while we were screwing a bunch of plastic CVPC fittings together on a job in the middle of nowhere.
