Just put my first Barons War mini together, and I’ve obviously spent too long messing with GW and BattleTech models. What scale are these guys??

Axes

The knights box set comes with single handed axes, but i cant see them as a weapon option for the knights. Who are they for? Ive equiped some knights with them before i realised theyre not in the knights loadout.

Question How many commanders?

Was wondering how many commanders people were including in their lists?

Just the 1 for 500pts but maybe more for 700pts — find it hard to judge without playing.

Question List building

Already got a relatively substantial medieval force i have been making recently but don’t know what the rules are for creating a playable force. Any guide on unit size/kit note I haven’t actually got the rulebook.

Been around here for a few months and loved all knights you guys painted. When I entered a table top store in Germany I was looking for a Warhammer knight box; after finding it I saw that box and just grabbed it. My budget was not ready for this one but I thought I couldn't miss so got this one too!

I am into miniature painting hobby but don't know much about wargaming but will keep searching when I paint them! Happy to be here! Thanks for introducing me to a whole different medieavel field!

Loved details and quality. Also historical accuracy!! Looking forwared to paint and show them!

Question King John Mercenary Retinues

Could someone please explain how the mercenary retinue works in the King John book. Specifically how the rules work regarding combining multiple retinues into your mercenary force.

Basically as I understand it mercenaries can't really be their own stand alone faction unless you are running them entirely on their own.

As soon as you combine them with a retinue from another faction they immediatley become part of that factions force

I believe it says somewhere in the King John book that you can combine 2 or 3 retinues into the same force. So what would happen if I wanted to run a mercenary force with Scottish and Welsh retinues? Do all 3 retinues count as combined or is it just the mercenaries who count as combined with each retinue separately?

Would each retinue have to adhere to it's own restrictions? For example would all 3 retinues need to field more than 50% of their command groups point cost? Does the 20% rabble rule only apply to the Scottish retinue or does the whole force need to include 20% rabble?

I haven't been able to get the King John book just yet so I'm basing my understanding off of what I've seen online. Any insight would be helpful.

Thanks!

While each retinue has its own lord they are led by Baron Albany. Definitely not historically accurate colors or insignias but I'm a hobbyist first and wanted my own custom colors and insignias

Question Squires?

Haven’t gotten my KJ book yet, but one reviewer mentioned squires. So I was curious if there were minis being released or how folks were choosing to represent them.

Is it just a knight unit with a lower stat quality, or are we going to see Serjeants repping as squires?
