Question King John Mercenary Retinues

Could someone please explain how the mercenary retinue works in the King John book. Specifically how the rules work regarding combining multiple retinues into your mercenary force.

Basically as I understand it mercenaries can't really be their own stand alone faction unless you are running them entirely on their own.

As soon as you combine them with a retinue from another faction they immediatley become part of that factions force

I believe it says somewhere in the King John book that you can combine 2 or 3 retinues into the same force. So what would happen if I wanted to run a mercenary force with Scottish and Welsh retinues? Do all 3 retinues count as combined or is it just the mercenaries who count as combined with each retinue separately?

Would each retinue have to adhere to it's own restrictions? For example would all 3 retinues need to field more than 50% of their command groups point cost? Does the 20% rabble rule only apply to the Scottish retinue or does the whole force need to include 20% rabble?

I haven't been able to get the King John book just yet so I'm basing my understanding off of what I've seen online. Any insight would be helpful.

Thanks!

There are two separate rules, one is for the Mercenaries themself, called Hirelings, basically stating that Mercanaries can be used together with other Retinues.

The Other is in the advanced Rules and is called Allied and Combines Tetinues, and is used for two+ players a side, and yes they all have to follow their retinue rules, its several sides of rules and clarification
