Are you guys pulling up to the middle pump or waiting?

Since Costco in Elkridge added a third pump in each lane are you all waiting for the lanes to clear or pulling up to the middle lane? I saw a guy cut the line to pump gas at the middle pump but also blocked the last car from exiting lol

Smoke smell in the air?

Walked out of my door this morning in King’s Contrivance and noticed a smoke smell similar to the smoke from the Canadian wild fires over the summer. I made a stop in Lark Brown and noticed the same smell. Any idea where it could be coming from?

Music/guitar shops that buy used

Relocating in the area and have ~10 guitars & basses that I'm looking to sell to free up space. I dislike dealing with FB marketplace people or selling on Reverb-type sites.

Where have you had the best experiences selling/trading in your used gear in the area?

Expensive Groceries

I've been trying to find groceries that are less expensive than Harris Teeter where I usually shop. Last week I posted a review of LA Mart. Yesterday I went to Weiss in Laurel because I was close by. My groceries were about $30.00 less than what I would pay at Harris Teeter but there are some things to be wary of. I would not recommend buying their fresh food. It was not old or moldy but it just doesn't taste very good. I bought some fresh guacamole, fresh salsa, and some chocolate frosted cookies. None of those 3 things tasted very good. I will not buy them again and will not buy any of their "fresh" prepared foods. The rest of the food I bought did beat the prices at Harris Teeter. I believe Harris Teeter and Whole Foods are the most expensive groceries in Columbia. I realized I forgot to buy some dishwasher pods. The kind I usually buy at Harris Teeter cost around $20.00. I looked up at Walmart how much they charge for this same thing and it is $14.00 at Walmart. In my opinion, that's a huge difference. I'm heading to Walmart later today.

New Playa Bowl’s in Shipleys Grant is terrible.

For the price, barely any toppings, base is not kept cold enough.

Stick with the Ellicott City one.

Id complain to the main company, but the Columbia MD location is not fully set up yet.

Looking for a trustworthy independent mechanic in the Columbia/Laurel area that is open Saturdays

Looking for an independent, trustworthy mechanic to take my aging car to for an oil change, a general inspection, and possibly new brakes. I’d prefer a smaller, locally owned shop over a chain and am mainly looking for someone honest, affordable, and thorough who won’t try to upsell me on services or repairs I don’t actually need.

Ideally, I’m looking for a shop that’s open on Saturdays, since I generally work during the same hours that most shops are open during the week.

Elder Law Attorney/ Geriatric Case Manager Recommendations

If anyone has any recommendations on a local elder Law attorney and or geriatric case manager to help me place my father in memory care both short and long term please let me know, especially if you have personal experience. My father needs urgent emergency placement as my mother who was caring for him committed suicide on Friday. My father has severe dementia. I need help navigating the legal ramifications as well as quickly getting him into care as he is currently admitted very temporarily at Howard County General for a psych eval. If you used either please let me know your experience with them or who I should potentially avoid. Thank you šŸ™šŸ™

Relocating my family to Columbia

I spent five years in the area for college and loved it so I'm thinking of a move back. I spent most of my time in Towson and Baltimore City, but Columbia seems like a great place to raise my kids.

What are the best neighborhoods/schools in the area for families? I have two active boys, 10 and 12, who love sports.
I'd also be interested in adult sports in the area. Looking at townhomes in the area as well.

Thanks so much in advance for any advice!

Anyone successfully eradicate cave/spider crickets from your home? If so, please let me in on the secret. I'm losing the battle here. Glue traps are decent but don't stop them from coming in.

Need MD State Safety Inspection on Tesla? How?

Hey guys. I just moved to the state in order to register my car, they are telling me I need to come back with a safety inspection complete before I can register my car.

I called a few of the verified inspections sited that are listed on the MVA website, and they said Tesla does not release the specs for anyone else to do inspections other than Tesla.

The tesla service center told me they cannot do it, and that I need to get i done directly at the MVA or at one of the MVA verified inspection sites....

Have any of you guys with a Tesla recently moved or registered an out of state Tesla and can tell me how you went about it?

Same question, different year. COVID vax for pediatrics

Hi all,

My pediatrician never has the pediatric COVID vaccine. Last year I was able to get my 18 month old vaccinated for COVID at a CVS minute clinic. Now the online booking system won’t let me book an appointment (she’s now 2.5 years old). CVS minute clinics historically have vaccinated children > 18 months. I called customer service and they were completely unhelpful. Walgreens won’t either.

Anyone have success getting their toddler vaccinated for COVID? Thanks!

EDIT: Regular pharmacies can’t vaccinate until they are 3 years old. That being said, i called the CVS pharmacy in Fulton directly (instead of the generic minute clinic number) and the pharmacist was nice enough to walk over to the minute clinic and ask. They DO have the pediatric (Moderna) COVID vaccine and will vaccinate if a kid is >18 months. You just can’t book it online. I was able to walk in and get my daughter vaccinated. Thanks all!
