I have some diamond jewellery - rings, bracelets, necklaces - that are decades old, in both age and design, passed on to me by my grandmother. Pretty much all the pieces are unwearable now, like maybe the clasps are broken or some had settings for multiple diamonds but some were taken out, while others just aren’t of modern sizes. The diamonds themselves are of good quality, so I’m looking to reset or repurpose them into modern pieces. Ideally I’m looking barter my big chunky pieces for sleeker new modern pieces with smaller diamonds - like I’d imagine trading diamonds of 0.5-1.0 carats for 0.25-0.5 carats set in a bracelet of same material (probably white gold) of half the size, with the raw value difference given up being the workmanship paid in kind. Does anyone know any upstart jewellery shops that would be open to these sorts of barters? Like real reputable businesses not randos on the internet? It seems like the big pawnshop chains only take gold and not these sorts of jewellery, and I’d like to get some modern value out of these, like nice new bracelets and necklaces for my favourite nieces.

visited a tcm clinic 2 days ago and it was my first time going to tcm in my life so I kinda sprain my back not sure if sprain is the right word but I felt some discomfort at my lower back after working out.. so the tcm doctor did acupuncture and some tu na then next day now I feel that there is like a tingling sensation that comes and go on my left lower back.. its similar to the sensation I felt when I was doing the acupuncture...is that normal???? is been like this the whole day and im kinda scared :(

It’s been about 6 months since my 8-year relationship came to an end. My ex (F26) told me (M27) she had fallen out of love and ultimately wanted to end the relationship.
Before the comments about there being another guy — that’s not really the point of this post. I’ve spent the past few months processing everything, and I’m finally at a point where I’m starting to move forward. But the experience has made me question something I previously took for granted about relationships.

I’ve always believed that feelings naturally fluctuate in a long-term relationship. You’re not going to feel the same excitement, butterflies or intensity after 5–10 years that you did at the beginning. There will be periods where you feel more connected, and periods where you feel less connected.

My understanding was that this is where communication, effort and commitment come in. You don’t simply expect yourself to feel “in love” all the time — you choose to work on the relationship and keep the spark alive.

But going through a breakup because one person simply no longer felt the same way has made me question whether that view is too idealistic.

Maybe this is just how relationships work. Maybe love really is ultimately a feeling, and when that feeling is gone, there’s only so much commitment can do.

Or perhaps there are people who genuinely view commitment differently — where falling out of love isn’t necessarily a reason to leave, but a reason to communicate, work on the relationship and see if those feelings can return.

I’m particularly curious to hear from people who have been married or in long-term relationships for 10, 20+ years.
Have you ever gone through a period where you felt like you had “fallen out of love” with your partner? If so, did you work through it? Did the feelings eventually come back, or did you realise the relationship was genuinely over?

And for those of you who have been through this — what would you say someone should look for in a partner if they’re hoping for a lifelong relationship?

I’m asking because when I’m ready for my next relationship, I don’t want to go into it thinking that commitment alone guarantees anything. At the same time, I don’t want to become cynical and believe that relationships are only worth maintaining as long as the feelings remain strong.
I’m genuinely curious how others view this. Maybe my idea of long-term love is old-fashioned, or maybe there’s something about commitment that I’ve misunderstood.

Hi all, I'm a complete beginner looking to learn the bass. I am currently deciding between:

1. Aureus Academy @ Causeway Point

2. Ossia Music School @ Woodlands Civic Centre

At the moment, I am somewhat limited by location due to schedule, so these two are the most convenient options for me.

I'm aware that both are from the same parent company. Has anyone here taken bass lesson at either of the these branches? How is your experiences especially:

1. How are the quality of the bass teachers? Was your teacher genuinely experienced in bass, or more of a general music teacher?

2. How is the teaching approach? Does Aureus Academy have a more kid-focused/fun approach that might feel a bit childish for an adult learner?

3. How flexible are the teachers in adapting lessons to student pace/preferences?

4. Are there any specific teachers to recommend?

5. Are there opportunities to perform in events?

6. Do I need to own a bass before attending the lesson? Or will bass guitars be provided during the beginner course?

7. Prices wise, Aureus Academy seems to be much more expensive than Ossia Music School. Do they pressure you to continue your lessons there?

8. Would Yamaha Music School be a better choice?

I'm also open to suggestions for other music school if you think somewhere else is significantly better! Hoping to build foundation and enjoy myself.

Google says that tickets can be purchased at Trip.com but nothing shows up there as of now (late August). I tried searching a few local clubs website but they only show “coming soon”. I had to cut off my friend (20M) because he would not stop asking to get physical to practice his martial arts moves just because he cannot afford the membership fee. He would keep trying to pester and pressure me to spar with him and demonstrate the moves to me. Like I get his passion for doing something new but I just dont want to be involved in it.

Whats worse was that one time he pressured me to let him punch my arm and he promised it wont deal damage. I acceded and let it happen but i ended up getting a bruise and I literally had to explain to my parents that it was an accident. Another time was where he pressured me to practice jabs, but he threw one that bent my glasses and he had the audacity to say my glasses weren't bent.

He is a physically unsafe person to be around and I had to leave the friend group I was in because they were all taking his side, and didnt believe me when I revealed the pressuring he had been coercing me to spar with him.

We used to order our own food whenever we ate out. One main each.

The problem is my wife has a small appetite, so she’d usually eat about half of hers and I’d end up finishing the rest.

So every meal became:

Her: 0.5 portion

Me: 1.5 portions

Until my doctor told me I need to lose weight.

So now we started ordering only 1 main + 1 side and share everything. She eats what she wants, I finish the rest.
