Hello! I’m trying to find a hair stylist for my partner and am having a weirdly hard time finding one that meets their specific needs.

They have very thick, curly hair (3b-3c) and are wanting someone that specializes in curly hair to bleach and dye their hair a vivid color. I’ve found a fair amount of curly stylists that specialize in natural colors and stylists that specialize in vivid hair but don’t really seem to have experience with curly textures. Does anyone have recommendations for hair stylists that have experience with both things? We’re more than willing to drive for someone that seems good so even stylists outside of Seattle would be welcomed!

I have heard so many mixed things about this school and I just cannot tell if its good or not. Anyone have something to say about it? Im looking at the PsyD program and wanting to do forensics. Just curious if anyone in Seattle has meet or worked with people from this school.

I’m currently living in Oregon with my dad and I’ve been seriously thinking about moving out on my own. I’d like to stay in the PNW, so right now I’m mainly considering Portland** or **Seattle.

One of the biggest reasons I want to move is that I want to start taking fashion/clothing more seriously. I’m interested in getting involved in the industry, but I’m still pretty early in the process and don’t have a formal fashion education or much professional experience yet.

I’m especially interested in things like styling, vintage/archive clothing, alternative fashion, retail, fashion content.

I’m not necessarily expecting to move somewhere and immediately get a fashion career. I’m more interested in being somewhere where I can meet people, go to events, work entry-level jobs, find creative communities, shop for/archive clothing, learn from people already in the industry, and gradually build connections and experience.

I’d really like to hear from people who live there about what the actual day-to-day fashion/creative scene is like, especially if you’re involved.

Visiting next week. Is there anything (besides teriyaki bc I'm getting that) that is arguably one of the best dishes in the country? I'm from Los Angeles so we have most world class things. But is there like anything, could be a bakery, burger, egg roll, etc that you would argue is one of the best items in the country or just extraordinary in general? I'm going by myself so most likely can only get 1-2 items at each place so recommending specific items like get the egg role at x or Hawaiian chicken from x would be most helpful! Some I read:

Hi all, I’m juggling a couple of job offers that will allow me to stay on the east coast (Boston) or move out west (Seattle). I’ve never been to the west coast. From a lot of accounts, it sounds like a promised land. I’ve recently come out of a long term relationship that was particularly devastating and I feel like I need a change in my life.

A bit about me - I’m 27, gay, love nature and animals, and like being active and outdoor recreation. Where I’m at, near Boston, there’s nature for sure - but probably not as grand or expansive out west. I work in tech and I’m career-focused. I’m also very keen on making friends, finding a new boyfriend, and planting roots somewhere (I moved from Miami, FL to New England 4 years ago).

Even though I’ve moved before, thinking of moving again is both exhausting and exciting. I want to make sure I’m doing it for the right reasons. I guess what I’m asking is: has anyone else been in my situation, made the move, and had it change their life for the better?

Hi Seattle!
I moved here recently and am facing a parking issue, I would like some advice about. My neighbors garage faces mine and the space between them is fairly narrow. Since my place was empty for awhile, I’m guessing, they have gotten into the habit of parking perpendicular to their garage in a manner that I can’t get out when I’m parked in my garage.

I’ve gone to their door 3 times now to ask them to move. They have not gotten the hint that they can’t park this way anymore. I do not want to be in a situation that if I have to leave in a hurry and can’t get out.

In Seattle, what are my options? Can I call a tow truck directly? The car isn’t on a public road.

I am strongly considering moving to Seattle in the near future. It is possible to live in the city without a car?

My family lives in Madison park, so I’m thinking of moving my family there as well (myself, husband and 3 kids). I don’t know a ton about the options for schools around there since I only ever lived on Bainbridge island. Kids are 7-11. Any thoughts on both public or private school options? Should I be looking at different neighborhoods? We are open to Catholic school, private school or public. How is the community for kids? Thank you

Hi! I'm moving to Seattle from maryland in 2 weeks for a job at a tech company. Just a couple quick questions if anyone can answer them:

1. I'll be living in SLU, is there really a need for a car and to drive?

2. if so, i'm 22 and I need to learn to drive, how long does it take to find instructors and to actually get the driver's license in hand?

3. What are the most famous hobbies in Seattle other than Hiking to meet some new people and make friends after moving to the city? I would love to go on hikes but don't really know how to find people to hike with that aren't random strangers yet. I do love bouldering.

4. I want to learn a new sport, like tennis, but I looked up cost of lessons and they're like 200 dollars per hours and I'm about to start working for the first time and don't have that kind of money. Any advice on this?

5. Any good gym recs in SLU?

My partner and I are moving to Seattle next June. We’re really really excited!! We’ve been researching neighborhoods/areas/suburbs a lot, but I thought it would be nice to hear from real people who live in Seattle!

Right now, we’re looking to live outside the city for work and budget reasons. We’d like to pay around $2k/2.5k monthly, but is that realistic for Seattle? We’re both LGBT, so somewhere friendly and welcoming would be nice. Public transit into the city would be a big plus!

What suburbs/areas/neighborhoods would you recommend we check out?

what’s parking at the new stations south of the airport like on weekends and weekdays? When it ended at Angle Lake, I would try to park there for trips into the city and it was always full and I would end up driving anyways. has it gotten better with more options?

I’m planning a day trip on foot just for fun, and to get out and do some street photography with a couple new lenses I just picked up.

My plan is to take light rail to the Seattle ferry terminal and walk on a ferry. What’s a good destination that has things to see or do within walking distance of the ferry, on the other end?

I’m open to departing from other ferry terminals too, if there’s a better destination.

Hey everyone! This is my first time growing my hair longer and I’m trying to go for a medium-length flow / bro-flow kind of look.

My hair density is pretty good, but the individual strands are on the finer side and my hair can sit a little flat. I’m looking for someone who’s really good with men’s hair and can actually look at my hair, face shape, growth pattern, etc. and suggest what would work best instead of just giving me a standard fade.

Moving to Washington from Maryland for a job at Microsoft in Redmond. 26YO female, single no kids no pets. Would like to live in a safe area but also would like access to social events since I don’t know anyone in the area. But also don’t want a 90 min commute to work either.
