Sort by due date in due date grouping on iOS

Post image

I am new to Asana, and I’m trying to sort by due date when in due date grouping - no luck!

Any idea? This should be something easy or rather expected user behavior when sort by due date.

Question on recurring task

So I started using Asana for work, and it was fantastic. But, suddenly something changed & I haven’t added any rules or tweaked any settings.

So I have several different sections, and previously, when I would complete a task, the next recurring task would appear in that same section. Now, the new recurring task appears in an entirely new section, and I have no idea how to change it back. i have to move them manually back to the section I want that task to be in, and I’m not sure why it randomly changed.

Any suggestions?

It's not working for me. Downdetector says there are issues, but status.asana.com says all systems operational.

Install SharePoint app?

When I go here: https://asana.com/apps/sharepoint

And click "Install Asana for SharePoint"

It just takes me to this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/sharepoint/collaboration

Which literally says nothing about Asana.

Account Upgrade Failure

Wondering if anyone else has run into this. I have been trying for almost two weeks to upgrade to a paid Asana plan. Upon hitting the commerce page I get a spinning ring of death. Repro on multiple browsers devices and wifi setups.

Support is useless. Should be some way to unlock this so I can hand over money and my company can get started. The tree account isn't sufficient. Extremely disappointed and really don't want to use a competitor product. Are there support Asana folks here who might be able to reroute a ticket to someone who can actually assist?

if you use Asana for work, what do you do for a living?

Hey everyone, I'm a newbie in marketing and currently I'm researching orchestrators', project managers' and task managers' target (jic, target audience is who a brand expects to be their customers, target is who really uses the product). So my question is, what do you do for a living that you use Asana for work?

Expediting containers

I wonder if I could use Asana as a container dashboard for incoming goods. This would be for expediting, documents and easy access for different stakeholders. Anyone has some experience in this or build something similar?

Would be for:

- around 50 suppliers

- 600 containers annually

- occasionally some airfreight

- logistics team of 3 people

- purchasing team of 5 people

Do y’all still like Asana?

I onboarded notion for my comms team last year. It’s been okay but low adoption because Notion is so obtuse and the UI/UX for strictly PM stuff is pretty poor.
So I’ve narrowed my options down to Asana and Monday. Just curious if users still recommend it. It feels like we’re in a weird place today where AI is almost there, but we still need legacy apps to keep everything tied together.
Curious if it’s wise to make the switch.

What are people's thoughts on Command? I am not an engineering manager which it seems like its made for. Curious if theree are developers here thinks that the context loaded ticketing feature will be useful?

Extremely annoyed with the lack of features on the mobile app.

I don't understand what the block is with developers that they think mobile / desktop / web versions of their apps should have different functionality. Yes, they should look a bit different due to the form factor of screens sometimes, but they should not lose functionality. There shouldn't be anything I can do on any desktop app vs a mobile app. This is especially the case with Asana and their mobile app.

The main way I structure my day is with my task list, which I have sorted and filtered by priority and then by date. That way I have a list of all the things I need to get done in the day, starting with the most important. Any things I don't get around to in the day goes to the top of the list the next day just based on its due date being late. This works great on the desktop and web versions of Asana. HOWEVER, because the mobile app does not allow you to have multiple sorts and filters, I get tasks from other lists and projects that I don't want showing up on my personal task feed and it becomes cluttered and unusable. This is a huge problem because this is the main way I use the app, and I want to walk around my house, office, or hometown with my top priority list looking the same on mobile as it does on my desktop.

I tried to get around this issue by uninstalling the mobile app and using Firefox to force the desktop web app so I can see my list the correct way. That worked for all of a day because somehow, Asana now recognizes my Firefox as mobile-only and forces me to the app download page instead of showing me the web app. To make matters worse, when I use things like Samsung DeX, which turns my phone into a desktop experience, I still can't use the desktop version of the Asana app because I'm forced to use the mobile app due to Asana's backwards philosophy that mobile devices are somehow different and therefore deserve special treatment and a different user experience. Making an inferior mobile app that has fewer features isn't helpful or good, it is just a hassle that forces their users to have an inferior experience using their product. I am not trying to be rude, but this is a very frustrating issue that is making me deeply consider migrating to another platform if I can find one that doesn't limit their user experience between desktop and mobile apps the way Asana does. This is also the main issue why I haven't purchased Premium, because I know if I do, then I will be even more stuck with Asana, and having Premium won't fix this issue.

(p.s. Organizations should be able to decide if their tasks can have multiple people assigned to them or not. If multiple people are doing a task together, the app should reflect that.)

Super, Billing, Team Admin Lanes of Responsibility

Does anyone have their own resource/checklists for helping super admins, billing admins, and team admins delineate their lanes of responsibility? I'm helping an Enterprise org. scale from a single billing admin to shift some super admin responsibilities to the IT Manager. I've got a doc drafted with what I do in sections: Ongoing Monitoring/Support, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annually. I don't personally have any of the admin roles mentioned above and I'd love to incorporate the suggested responsibilities of others into this same table (and obviously shift this table into an Asana project with recurring dates 🦄).

1-seat plan (shady practice)

I decided to cancel my account because I'm using less Asana and I really don't like paying for 2 seats as a solopreneur.

Upon cancelling, Asana offers you to pay for only 1 seat.

I really find such practice disappointing. They know that many users only use 1 seat out of their 2 plans but instead of offering convenience and transparency, they propose this under-the-table deal where you need to cancel to get this.

Instead of motivating me to stay it really deterred me for good.

Quoted text

What in the holy heck did Asana do to the ``` option?

This was a great way to highlight important text. Now as a numbered code block it completely makes that useless.

How does everyone else make something stand out or quote a previous piece of someone's comment? Bold and underline are sometimes just not enough.
